A new wave hit, still no word on when the next wave is due or what they'll look like. And no new discussion? I'm noting a distinct pattern with this game by this point.

Picked up the Goonies pack and it is pretty good so far. Hoping to hear release dates for the last sets. I wish for more but am accepting if it comes to an end, but I do believe that they will at least release the last sets (Beetle Juice, Teen Titans, and Powerpuff girls).

It's a sad day. I beat the potentially final level we'll ever see in LEGO Dimensions last evening, it was a fun level, though it did freeze on me once for some unknown reason and introduced a plethora of even more Minifigures we'll never see physical copies of, much like with Wizard of Oz, Doctor Who, Midway Arcade and so on and so forth.

I enjoyed it though, nice use of an old favorite. But this isn't the reason I wanted to post, I took a peek at the extras in the menu, all I can say is it's about bloody time. The Red Brick in The Goonies Adventure World is a Stud Multiplier, finally we get Stud x4 and I'll be able to farm even more studs to max out all of my toys from Years 1 and 2. I'm very grateful for that at least, the pitiful Stud x2 has been nothing but a slow and frustrating climb towards that goal, mostly because I don't leap into finished levels once at 100% just to farm studs and I'm appalling at timing those big bricks to get the purple every time. So this is a Godsend.

If we do in fact see a Year 3, which would be interesting, we'll probably see a Stud x6... However there is a horrifying possibility to contemplate. They might just give us the x6, x8 and x10 multipliers with PPG, TTG and BJ...A sort of, here you are for the end of the game folks.

Oh well, more exploring of Adventure Worlds to complete. I really wish I had Supergirl and Green Arrow to complete the Character Roster. I've been meaning to get the PS4 Starter Pack just to get Supergirl, but keep putting it off and the longer I delay the longer the chance it'll be discontinued if it hasn't already.

Hermione is a hoot, and Chase is nice. I got more than half the gold bricks in the LEGO City world before I finally went into the level, savoring it as long as I could by putting it off some. With the new LEGO Ninjago Movie game being announced/rumoured I believe Dimensions may in fact be seeing a finale of some sort. A pity they can't add any new levels as a proper send-off.

Not sure if a glitch, but apparently the game sees Mouth of The Goonies as Wildstyle or Gandalf, I couldn't access the instructions to upgrade anything when switched to his character, despite it being linked to Sloth's toy tag. A rather odd thing that.

@Odeinoichus - I felt like the Sonic level pack was setting up for some additional Dimensions story, it's a shame that we might not get the conclusion to that, but that's life.

I've played around a little with the Hermione pack, and picked up the Chase McCain pack but haven't played it yet, maybe a little later today.

I knew we were losing levels, X-Box owners have noted that the PPG pack was indeed going to be a Level Pack according to their screen-grabbed dashboard dealie for the downloads. Instead of saying Team Pack it says Level Pack.

I wonder what that sixth and final level we lost would have been, Beetlejuice or TTG? Such a shame.

Did everyone see the pictures of the minifigures from Beetlejuice, PowerPuff Girls, and Teen Titans packs?

^ I just saw them in the Brickset database and came here to see if they were new images. Guess I'm just behind the times :-)

So why no Robin with the cartoon look?
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,459
Because there's already a LEGO Dimensions Robin (and Cyborg for that matter too) given that it look like stuff has been cut from year two a repeat of a character (even in a different form) would have been more of a kick in the teeth in my opinion.

Finally obtained a PS4 a little over a month ago, so I will be partaking in the grand adventure.  Got the 12GB update installed, now to just get started.  I own every fun/level/team pack to date, is there any particular order I should start???
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,459
If I were you I'd spend a bit of time setting up all the fun/team pack characters so you don't have the annoyance of having the builds pop up mid level then start with the main story.

It's perhaps worth considering setting up some of the vehicles with unique abilities from the level packs (which does mean playing through the levels) - the Tardis in particular adds a few additional areas to some levels. If you have all the fun packs then Doc Brown's train can access all the delorean content.

Wave nine looks great, I'm eagerly anticipating the final three Adventure Worlds being opened up at last. And as a bonus I don't have to kick myself for missing Jokerland in getting a Starfire for my Minifig collection, just that awesome rendition of Harley it came with. *SIGH*

I note that there is no Lord Vortech pack in the reveals, which leaves me to suspect we're still getting a Wave Ten, and perhaps that second GB Pack from the 2016 film that's been off the grid for a while now. They also may have that new IP that was rumoured... I am certainly wondering what that could be.

According to Bricks To Life, Vortech's fun pack has been axed fairly recently so that sadly won't be happening (shame really, I was looking forward to his excessively spiky helmet).

As for the second GB pack, we haven't heard anything but I wouldn't be surprised if TLG/WB bailed on it after the film underperformed at the box office. The story pack didn't exactly fly off the shelves either, but then again I don't think any of the story packs sold excessively well so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seriously? They go to all the trouble of making it and hinting at it and having stuff in the game's code for it then they axe it? I'm not buying it unless LEGO and TT themselves declare this the final wave, after all the credits said we'd get up to Wave Ten once all the story levels were beaten, unless that was changed too in a recent update.

Whatever, I'm buying Wave Nine 100% the content and if they don't produce any further sets that will be that for Dimensions.

I doubt they would at retail. I'm sure they sold when discounted 50%

Thanks to an error on Amazon UK I've managed to get both PPG packs for £15.

It's interesting seeing how much the enthusiasm for Dimensions has waned now. I wonder if this is because of the choice of IPs or the rumours of it being discontinued taking effect.

I still have a very mixed opinion on Dimensions over all. I love the IP mash up storyline and style, I like that it's given us some minifigures that we probably wouldn't have even got from Ideas, but I dislike the TTL setup which feels like a money hole, dislike how additional story seemed to be setup but dropped and really dislike that we now have one physical minifigure from some franchises that really could have done with more and hate that some of the secret areas hinted at franchises that never got fleshed out (Flintstones in particular)

I actually feel like I could write quite an in depth "What's missing from" type article about Dimensions.

I just want to have Green Arrow and Supergirl for being a loyal supporter since day one, ship out more of those two to everyone who had the game on release day and I'll be happy.

I agree. I was he first person who commented on their facebook page and I was the one who started this topic here. I have been there since the announcement, picked up the game on day 1 and bought most packs on day 1. I deserve a Supergirl (I just won Green Arrow a week or so ago from a facebook contest). :D
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,459
The really annoying thing with Supergirl was the unique ability, which I believe has now been remedied with the PPGs and Raven also able to do the constructs. Had they not given that ability to anyone else then the whole Supergirl as an exclusive thing would have been just about the worst thing of the game and showed the issue with TTL style in general.
    dannyrww
  • dannyrwwdannyrww Member Posts: 1,394
I did not know that. I thought Supergirl was the only one who could do those. That is good to know. Oddly she does not even show up on the wii u roster of characters you can get.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,459
I only realised because I saw a video showcasing Blossom's skill set on the Dimensions twitter feed and looked it up to make sure that was what it was saying. I'm not entirely sure why the PPGs got that skill.

part of me thinks there might have been a plan for a green lantern character that got scrapped and they decided to tag that skill onto whatever remaining characters they could try to justify it on.

I'm hoping I might get a bit of time this weekend to have a bit of a play on the PPG adventure world.

I've been tempted to buy a new starter set for Supergirl whenever they're on sale and try to sell my still unopened "original" PS4 starter set.  I just can't bring myself to do it as I'm sure I'd lose money on selling the one I have, which would probably negate the money I'd save on buying the new set on sale.
  • 77ncaachamps77ncaachamps Member Posts: 2,442
FWIW, I remember buying a few PS4 starters when they were on sale.
One of them did NOT have the Supergirl sticker but it was "double labeled" which means it had the SG exclusive inside. And it did.

Unfortunately for me, I got mine before SG even existed so there's no chance mine has it.  =(

I'm just hoping Costco puts more out for Christmas this year so I can nab one and at least have SG, it isn't about her ability in game that bugs me, it's about OCD Completionism, 100% Characters means having every tag and every available character in-game.

But that's why they call it OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Same here, which is why I've been wrestling over getting a new starter set ever since the one with SG came out.  =P

I am also betting that this was the case.
it kind of irritated me that they established a construct ability (just like the DC LEGO games) and never made a Green Lantern to use it with.
I think eventually we would have got Green Lantern, but it looks like that's not going to happen now (and for a big GL fan like myself that's very disappointing).

I AM happy to see that some other figures at least have the ability besides Supergirl (sincecmany of us don't have her).

I guess that is the problem with being an early adopter. Those who buy early pay full price and don't get the free gifts that are required to sell the game to people that are on the fence.

Can't you pick up the disk from someone that wanted the figure but didn't need the disk? I bought some of the packs when Argos was doing them 3 Supergirl packs for £60, and the packs minus the polybags were easy to get rid of on ebay and not lose money. I ended up giving loads of the disks (from Supergirl, Doctor Who, ET, etc) away as I wasn't going to use them.

No, I want the figure with the disc, what's the point of just paying for a disc? I mean I get some folks might want to do that, but considering the asking price of the polybags why spend almost the same amount just for a toy tag?

I've managed to get my Teen Titans Team Pack from CeX for £15 (there's a £2.50 delivery charge too to factor in for online orders but that covers up to 10 items from them). The Powerpuff Girls & Teen Titans Fun Packs are £10 each from them too.

The Teen Titans pack has been available online twice whilst I've been checking for it (missed it once by seconds, got it the second time).

    https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=5051892197328#.WcZtJNO0mUk

They only buy in sealed packs so no problems with parts missing etc (but also seemingly buy the minifigure bases loose too).

I have still yet to start playing this. Bought the Supergirl starter pack whenever smyths were throwing it out for £30. Been grabbing Level and fun packs whenever on offer. Gonna give it to the Son for Xmas.

I took a bunch of old Xbox 360 pads in... trade is approx £10 for one of those. . Walked out with a £51 voucher for 4 and some pad accessories.

I also bought a stack of PS2 games for £5 and got £28 trade in on those too..

They buy all sorts of stuff, N64s,  the pads, master system games, loads of stuff... Check the website. ..

Trying to save for a PS4 pro using this type of hustling, had to spend £18.50 of it on the Sonic pack and a copy of Willie Wonka....

Well it looks like it is officially over :( It was posted over on the brickfan with a rumor of Missy from Doctor Who and the Flash being part of series 3 had it continued. It really was a great game and I still have plenty of content to play through because I never have time to play (but I love it when I can). Thankfully all the content is available so no need to worry about servers going down.....the only thing is depressing lists of what might have been.

If they survive until Xmas, they will probably end up at £1 each.
