Beating some of those games to get through the level was tough (Yeah Super sprint...I'm looking at you)....I do think the level ended abruptly though. Not much of a story....but really you are just playing it for the classic games. Has anyone taken gamer boy and tried him in the various races throughout the Adventure Worlds? He is the only figure that has Superspeed it would seem (my oldest daughter hopes the Flash is coming though.....especially with the images and rumors of Supergirl and Green Arrow).

Just saw in the database #71340 Supergirl and #71340 Green Arrow. Am I the only one who hopes they're based off the TV shows or a different version than the ones we got in the sets?

I suspect that they'll be the same as from the sets. Really unlikely they'd do something based on a very specific version like the TV shows. I'll be happy if green arrow has a hood (as in hood up, not the hoody on the back piece)

Has there been any speculation on whether there will be a new story for 2016?  The game was good and my son and I have played though it several times to get all achievements and 100% the levels (we still need to 100% the adventure worlds).  Having played most levels numerous times, I have little desire to go back just to play them with new characters... though the collector in me will probably still buy the sets anyway.

They're releasing 22 more Dimension packs!?  Holy F.... Well I hope one of the packs is Mixal world. Having watched a few clips on the Lego TV app, Id love to kill a few Mixals except for the purple, four-armed fella with an apparent cherry addiction. I can relate to that.

They might as well add more Simpsons, the rest of the Scooby gang, BUT NO ANGRY BIRDS.

anyone remember what the plan was for Dimension?
was it a 3 year plan or 5 year plan?

How do you see non-humanoid buildable characters like Mixels working in Dimensions? For the most part, every Dimensions pack has included a minifigure as the "character" and a buildable "vehicle". The only exception is Unikitty, but even she is already small enough to fit on a standard minifigure base. Do you think that it would be possible to "downscale" a Mixels character enough to fit on one of those bases as well, and still have them sufficiently recognizable?

Don't take this as a condemnation of your idea; I'm mostly just curious as to how you think that challenge could be surmounted. I myself would love to see Bionicle's inclusion in Dimensions, possibly using figures similar to 2014's Hero Factory "Hero-Figs" for the characters to get around the size problem. But even that is probably a long shot...

It was a 3 year plan, but like many such plans, it's possible that could be extended based on the success of the franchise.

    Perhaps(Child's Play!)....

He sits on base with a slight modification to his feet. As for the Mixel, I'm sure some egghead can surely figure out how to shrink one down to the size of the raptor. Design is not my thing.

After refusing to buy this ridiculously expensive game initially, I just bought £504.73 worth of Dimensions stuff...actual cash cost? £155 :)

I bought 6 with Tesco vouchers given for joining Sky combined with their 3 for 2 offer.
I bought 3 for 2 in Game with a pre-paid credit card for joining BT.
I got the actual game from US Amazon Prime for £50.00 after tax and shipping. It was £33 if you actually lived in the US!
I got 2 fun packs for around £15 from US Amazon.
Then I just got 6 from Very using their 3 for 2 offer combined with a £20 off promo code.
I did the same again with a different Very account.
Finally, I used another Very account to order another 3 for 2 and a level pack using the £20 off promo code.

My son now has the game and base characters, 25 fun packs and 1 level pack. For £155. :)

With that said, after actually playing the game: It's just a standard Lego game. Literally, the only difference is that instead of unlocking new characters by completing missions or buying with studs, we are now expected to pay real money for new characters. Okay, we get real Lego too...but at hugely marked up prices.
Let's say it's fine to charge more for level packs...that's basicially DLC which as much as I hate it, has been around for a while now.
The character packs though are indefensible. In Lego Avengers, every character comes with the game. For free. No Lego. But free. In Lego Dimensions, every character costs £14.99 minimum. Yes we get Lego. But it's £14.99. Collectable minifigures are £2.50. Mini build Mixels are £3.00. What is the other £9.50 for? Licensing? Lego really gives 2 thirds of it's costs to 3rd parties?

Lego should be ashamed of themselves.

well i would say £5 to £7 go's to the NFC (Near field communication.) needed to interface with the game.
remember there are at lest 2 in each pack and the teem packs have 4.

    also remember,
Skylanders normal Fig's priced at £9.99 RRP,
    keep that in mind.

^^just a word of warning, Very are hot on multiple uses of their codes and I'm sure I read about people that had the offer removed from their purchase after checkout.  If you have any information that can link those accounts it is possible that they will charge you the £20 to the account you created - probably worth keeping a check on it to make sure it doesn't happen to you.

Any rumors of a Sauron minifiguere?
  • GreendudeGreendude Member Posts: 58
@MattsWhat It's no con, I have a Very account and an Isme account.  Very and Isme merged recently so I've ended up with 2 Very accounts.  Same name, same address, same details.  I'm not hiding anything.  The 3rd account I used was my brothers.  All above board, all individually sent the same promo code via post.

Also, if Very were that clued up to uses of their promo's, one look at my history would confirm I only buy from them if 3 conditions are met: 1. It's Lego  2. It's on sale.  3. I have a valid promo code.  Very's Lego sale is usually 20% off, combined with a promo it usually hits or beats the 30% discount we usually look for.  The buy now pay later is just the icing on the cake for someone like me that doesn't have a lot of disposable cash when TLG releases a ton of great sets at the same time.  Very really can't be making money off me but I'll continue to use them when these conditions are met.

@chrisalddin £5 to £7?  You mean 5p to 7p surely?  NFC Stickers are very cheap to buy for a consumer, they must be fractions of a penny for a company like TLG and then stuck in a bit of plastic.

Skylanders, at £9.99, are also a rip off but at least they're new moulds.  The cost to build them must be relatively high.  Lego's figures can be made at very low cost.  A minifig, a mixel and an NFC sticker.  About £6.00 value there if you maintain profit margins of Collectable Minifigures and Mixels.

Yeah, NFC tags are cheap as chips - certainly much cheaper than the prices Rick Stein charges in Padstow...

You can pick up packs of writeable ones for dirt cheap and do all sorts of fun home/phone automation stuff with an Android phone.

I can pretty much guarantee this wont happen, but it would be really cool if Lego/Tt did what Nintendo did with Amiibo.  That is, make them work in multiple games.  It would be really cool if other lego games would detect the base and then import characters if they are on the base.  Vehicles would not need to be supported nor would all the various abilities.  Just letting people import characters would be enough for most people and would would likely encourage a lot more people to buy dimensions.

So there i was sorting out my unopened dimensions set's and i decided to take a image of all my opened and unopened set's so i could see them all in 1 place.
i have 1 more set on order. and i may do this again some day.

but for now at this time this is all the box's of unopened and opened dimensions set's that i own. btw yes you can see Lego.com shipping Box's in the side of the image. they make good places to keep the built set's that i don't have room to display,

    1st what system are you on? PS4, X-BOX ONE, PS3, WII U?
2nd is the game system Wifi? or wired?

if you are on a WiFi set up, then try Wired right from the main Internet Rooter.

if that dont work and you are 100% out of ideas
you can try as a last resort!
deleting the game data, (NOT the SAVE File.)
but the games data that is on the system. the data that you are trying to replace.
this will if you are lucky. also delete the 50% downloaded Game Data.
then you can try again to download the file.
why is this a Last Resort? because after you do this, the Save file will no longer work until you can update to 1.08.

after this the only idea i have left my self is a Full format of the Game system HDD,
this is a bad idea, as you will lose all game save files. lose all games. lose all data of  any type, you will lose all of it. so it may be a idea. but it is a "end of the world" idea. and is only here as a you could try this but DON'T!
my self i would buy a new game's system just to play the game before i got to the HDD format step.

after this i am out of ideas, maybe the support help line for the game will be of help.
no i dont know what the number is. you have to go hunting for it.

Good luck hope you get it fixed.

Also, do you have enough room on your console's HD?
I don't know how big the update is, but if it is significant, you may want to export a game to a separate HD or delete a game.

this is a good point. the PS4 Game data download is 9GB,
if this is the case, that you dont have the room on your HDD, then the Deleting the Game Data, will free up the space needed to download the full Data for the update.

and @77ncaachamps you make me feel dum for not thinking of that.
i am going to blame it on being 7am and i only just woke up.

Deleted the last patch, and hit the controller every 5 minutes so the ps3 wouldn't go into sleep? mode. It was a wireless connection, but the ps3 was only thing connected/powered up.
  • chrisalddinchrisalddin Member Posts: 3,041
sound like it was HDD space.
also a wireless Connection can drop at the drop of a hat.
right now i am on a lap top and have full bar. but last night same laptop in the same place linked to the same Wifi, i had 2 bar. so them can be a bit iffy at times.
and i like to think i own a good Router.

In addition to deleting the old patch and writing over it, I've found it also helps to DL updates during the late hours at night. Less traffic!

So a little more info. I just updated the PS3, and LEGO Marvel Avengers with no problems. When I went to update Dimensions was when they started. Said the upload would take over an hour, so I started the update and went to do other things. Came back an 1/2  hour later to check and the upload was stopped. That happened 5 or 6 times before I deleted the old patch. I think it was still 2 to 3 times after that before the update took. When all was said and done I still have 90GB/111GB left. Only reason I did the updates was so I had the latest bonus levels for each game. Only thing I can think of if it's not a Dimensions problem is my internet connection went bad for over 5 hours.

Never changed the sleep setting from stock and the 1st (4 hours?) update, and it downloaded fine with just starting and forgetting about it.

I don't own the game, but I was just wondering ....

Since the bases are merely NFC Tags, can't one just program any nfc tag with the code of any base and have the character in game?
I own the GB fun pack for the figure and scanned the tag with my phone. It's a simple code.

    Has anyone tried?

Not only have people done so, they've apparently been able to use unique codes to access unreleased characters like Supergirl and Green Arrow.

There are products out there like maxlander and amiiqo designed for this sort of thing, but they may or may not be legal depending on your local laws.  Many (all?) of the tags are encrypted so simply decrypting them without authorization is illegal in the US (under the DMCA).  Also game manufacturers could argue that they are not just selling the item but also the right to in-game content so spoofing the tags amounts to unauthorized access to that content (aka piracy).

do you think dimensions 2.0 will be a download or a new Disk with 1.0 files included?

I would assume it would be a downloadable update, or if they go the Infinity route, it would be included in the 2.0 game disc.

and i bet it got 0 to do with how limited the portal is. (this is sarcasm.)
Infinity 3.0 pushed that portal to the limit. there is no ware to expand with it.
and making a new portal at this point would be shooting them self in the foot.

Figured this topic would light up a little. It turns out Disney will stop producing console games all together and instead license out games. This bodes well for Star Wars (and maybe Marvel) coming to Dimensions. I have always been one of the biggest supporters of Dimensions, but Infinity did offer something with their Toy Box mode that you can not get with Dimensions. Its a shame to see it go. I did like both of these and felt they were different enough that it was not really about which was better in my mind.

This is certainly hopeful! Looks like Lego will be paying out of the you know what for the license. And I'm sure it'll pay off because of the Star Wars geeks out there.
