New to forum

Hi, All, I just joined up after picking up an interest in LEGO building. This was a result of becoming a fan of the LEGO movie, and of having two grand-kiddoes, a daughter, and a future son-in-law who are big into Lego building. I've never really played with LEGO up to this point. During childhood I had the gamut of other building toys: Erector sets, Tinkertoys, Constructioneer, Krazy Ikes, etc. During my teens and twenties I was an avid model rocket enthusiast, and in later life I turned to woodworking, specializing in wood toys. So I am no stranger to model building in any medium. I hope to get to know many of you through this hobby, and I hope I can share some good ideas and techniques as well.

So far, I'm working on LEGO Movie scenes. This past week I have purchased and assembled the Double Decker Couch set, the Melting Room set, and the Batman/Super Angry Kitty Attack set. Being a stickler for detail, I have consulted the movie in stop frame and made several mods to the melting room set. If I can figure out how to post pix on this forum, I will get some uploaded. How about yourself?

I collect mostly Lego Star Wars but now I'm also excited about the Speed Champions.
