I have a couple SW sets that have been in my queue for some time.

One wonders if they don't release particularly desirable characters as promotions because they don't want to be seen as fueling the secondary market.
so again, demand high, but understandable that not everyone is a fan. just as I am not a fan of near nobody characters, I'd rather see unique print main characters than... let me get the quote right.... "Admiral "I was onscreen less than the B-Wing" Whatshisname. " ~ mathew
I'll have to check later, but I think Yularen might have been in the scene where Han and Luke are escorting Chewbacca into the elevator. I'm fairly sure one of the people walking by is in an admiral's uniform but I don't know if it's specifically him.
Hoth Han on the other hand, can be had many times for 5-10 dollars.
So 'failure' is really in the eye of the beholder.
Just like ARF Troopers in black that were a polybag promo are now climbing.
The Admiral will probably get people to buy a SW item or two, though my purchases will likely be the minimum purchase (likely cantinas + another small SW set), but hey, a 75 purchase is still a substantial purchase for LEGO I think.
And anyway, my use of "failure" was in the context of promoting sales, not resale value.
Or at least include a comedy-strangulated minifig head at some point (with brown wig piece to hide his alternate-option 'smug' expression) when they next do an Ep-IV admiral.
Lego! RELEASE him!
(...as you wish).
TC-14 remains popular, and was a similar short-time giveaway. It was not so well policed on a one per household / person, and some people got huge numbers. Revan they managed a bit better. If they try to strictly enforce one per person in store / household online, then the value is likely to hold up even more. However, this is then down to supply, rather than demand.
@Shib, it looked blue (didn't realise back then how heavily blue tinted that part of the movie was) & my original Kenner Hoth gear Han had a blue jacket on, so I always thought it was blue. Doesn't help that he had a blue jacket on while on Bespin (or could be the blue tint strikes again lol)...
I just have to wonder how well SW-themed sets are doing these days with all the other licensed sets that TLG is releasing. Sure...there will definitely be a bump in sales once the new movie is released, but I know I'm only interested in the larger SW sets now. Clone Wars does nothing for me.
TarDomo: Are you German/some other nationality living in Germany/Tourist?
Reason I ask is because i'm from Newcastle, North East of the UK, but I will actually be in Berlin on a City break on the 4th to the 7th of May.
Are you familiar with the Berlin store?
As well as the usual famous tourist magnets, if you like your cars and you're a VW group enthusiast (or a Bugatti/Lamborghini admirer), you could get yourself to the huge VW AG "department store" near the Brandenburg Gate - we saw the Bugatti Veyron there back in 2006, closely guarded, you couldn't get within 10 feet of it.
It is one of the cheapest capital cities in the EU for eating and drinking too, great city to visit (I always feel like i've been mugged when i'm paying £5.50 a pint in Amsterdam!).
Enjoy the trip!
