    Prices were RRP.
Dobby's not creepy, he's cute! Almost bought him, but I'm saving my limited funds for #71792 Sora's Transforming Mech Bike Racer.

Target clearance Near North Chicago store

Bought the Madrigal house at $35.
Wow!  I never see clearance signs on Lego at any Dallas area Targets.  With such a push in prices, increase in number of sets, increase in expensive sets, slowing spending, maybe that'll start happening.

Yeah...Target and LEGO Clearance are two things I've never seen overlap in my personal visits to the store.

At 30% off, I would have snagged that Rapunzel's Tower. Also, that Friends Arcade/Bowling set is pretty fantastic. My daughter got it for Christmas and it has so many play features.

This is encouraging. Pre-Covid, Target was one of my favorite LEGO shopping spots, local store had a few sets at 30% off nearly every week, and occasionally up to 75% off. Those sales dried up for the last couple of years.

Years ago I used to find great clearance deals in Target.  But it
s been a long, long time.  Never see anything on clearance around here in Target.  Sometimes I do in Walmart but not very often on anything I'm interested in there either.

I think COVID increased the demand for Lego enough that retailers have no trouble selling everything. And whatever does go on clearance gets snapped up quickly.

I dunno, I see retailers (both Target and Walmarts) hold some old sets forever without reducing the prices as well.

Around here "clearance" is a rarity in itself. The shelves were bare for so long thanks to COVID and related production/shipping delays that people tend to snatch things up quicker than you'd expect anyway. The shelves aren't bare now, but I never see any reason for them to lower the price to clearance levels either. The occasional deal here and there sure, but never 30% or anything like that anymore

Clearance seems to happen at certain times of year.  Mid-October to Mid-November is my favorite time to shop for Lego because stores seem to discount the year-old sets.  They might be out of stock by then, but when in stock, good deals can be had.  By Black Friday and Cyber Monday, there's little left on discount.

The $10 gift card for $50 spent deal is pretty good but I find it only applies to sets from the current year.  I like to wait for a set to be at least a year old in hopes of better discounts but that doesn't always work.

Thanks for all the updates about Target deals.  I only found $40 to spend so will wait for the next one.
And that sort of thing is why the giftcard deals aren't as good a deal as a straight 20% off
I feel like a real winner when I get a set at 20% off and as part of the $10 gift card promotion.  Often, the set doesn't appear as marked down, showing its 20% off price as if that's the real price.

Local Target here has a similar endcap as in that picture with sets reduced, but often there are no prices are a sign what the reduction is, so it's hard to tell just what the deal is.

Not sure if this has been mentioned....my two Target have clearance items on the shelves.  Most of it was 30% OR 50% off.  The only item I saw 15% off was the Technic Fast and Furious car for $85?
Both varied from store to store.
Creator Viking Ship #31132 ...either $83.99 or $59
lot of the more expensive Friends sets...Dance Studio, #41732 Downtown Flower and Design Stores, Space Shuttle
    City Hospital
City Barn Farm Animals  #60346  50%off

I rarely see discounts at my local Targets anymore sadly. Though I would love to see the Farm set for 50% off.

Visited a Target in the Denver area today after the Lego store.  They actually had some sets that were reduced on the regular Lego shelves.  First time I've actually had any luck in this Target other than a couple of polybags I was searching for a while back.  They had a few Super Mario sets, some city sets and most of last year's larger Friends Sets at various clearance prices.  They had a shelf tag for the Viking Ship at 50% off  but sadly none on the shelf.  I only grabbed the Friends Organic Farm at 50% off.  Probably should have also gotten a second copy of the Friends Wildlife Rescue set at $25 since the animals alone cost a good part of that on PAB.  May have to check my local store tomorrow to see if they have anything.

I checked one Target on Saturday as I was shopping for other things, The Viking ship was priced at 83.99 but they were out of them. The Hospital was set to 83.99 as well, but only one there, and was not really interested in getting it as I have the one before this one came out.

Lots of Dots 50% off, also some of the Classic brick boxes, but I don't need more parts packs. Dear god I don't need more parts packs.

    Some Avatar 30% off

#10780 I like as a Disney spin on Castle but the 4+ sets half off are just normal price. So cute that as a Castle fan I had to get it

Checked my local Target today.  They had one copy of the Friends Wildlife rescue so now I've added another giraffe & zebra to my animal menagerie as well as getting some extra bricks.  Figured it was worth $25 rather than spending $15+ just for the two animals to add to my other set from PAB.  They had the Friends Main Street Building from last year for $75 but I decided against buying it just for the parts.  Too many upcoming sets I want more.  No Viking ship or City Farm to be found.  I may check the two stores the next city north tomorrow as well as the last Walmart up there I haven't looked in yet.  I did get some stuff in the Lego store on Saturday so didn't really need to spend more unless it was for something I really wanted.

Nothing really at most of my local Targets. One I did happen to see a random clearance shelf far away from the toy section that had the expensive Elsa castle for 50% off. I bought it, but I don't know if I'll keep it yet. I may return it. It's one of those things, buy it in case since it won't be there when you go back. But rarely are there sets I actually want/want list for clearance prices.

Last week I was in Target for other things and checked out the Lego isle.  #31109 Pirate Ship was priced at $100 (regular price, not sale).  Weird because Target.com had them at $110, pickup in store.  Walmart had none, so I bought the two sets on the shelf.  I really like 3 in 1 sets and I thought all 3 builds shown on the box were neat.  Other than that, no deals that I could see.
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 1,068
No luck for me today at the one Target I stopped at & one Walmart. Target had a lot of empty shelf space by most of the reduced for clearance sets.  They still had some reduced items but none I was interested in.  All the Friends reduced items were gone as well as the Creator Viking Ship.  Walmart was the same, empty shelf space by most of the clearance stickers.  They did actually have all the City Mission sets at a reduced price where Target only lowered the price on the Space one for less than Walmart priced it at.  One more Target left to check but I'm not sure when I'll get there, Friday at the latest.

Target online has some Dots sets at 50% off.  Also some other stuff on sale including a few of the Helmets, & the Bird of Paradise Botanical is 30% off.

It's Prime Day / Circle Week / Amazon Week so Amazon, Target, and Walmart are all competing to give good deals.  Some of last years sets which I've been waiting for a sale are now 30% off.  I set a reminder in my calendar for the second Monday of July each year to watch for these deals.

I just checked out the Edina Target. Quite a few 15%, 30%, and 50% discounts. The larger higher discounted sets were all gone. But they did have a huge pile of #41950 Lots of Dots marked down to $5.99, so I couldn’t resist grabbing two.

I just checked my local Target.  Nothing was marked down that I noticed.  However, Target is doing Circle Week to compete with Amazon Prime Day so they had good prices online.  I bought two of last year's sets at 30% off by asking the checkout clerk to price match to them online.
Feels like a weak sale compared to the 70% off people are getting from Walmart clearances.  Check out that thread for more.

    Getting a few #41948 and #41963 for 70% off

#41947 70% not bad but passed on that for now

Local Target dropped prices to 70% off, but they were off sets that were already sold out. Oh well, maybe better luck at another Target?

All the Targets around here have been cleared out of the clearance items for weeks.  Shelf tags are still there but no product.  Wish we could get price matches online.
