Anyone have the search code for the mindstorms set at target? Couldn't hurt to check.
204-00-0655, although the only ones I've ever seen in store have been internet returns.

Yeah, that would concern me. I saw a Tumbler at a local Target on discount, but could not shake the feeling someone gutted the contents and replaced them and returned the set to Target.

I found one at my Target. It sat there for a couple days and never showed as available on fyndly.   Then I bought it.

I've found two EV3's at my closest target over the past year---both discounted, and both on-line returns. One was complete, the other was missing the smart brick and motors. Target let me return the second for a full refund with no problems. Although YMMV, I wouldn't think twice about picking up a third, if I were to be so lucky. For sets that are questionable, I'll often break the seals before i leave the store, just to be sure.

Hey, @sonsofsceva, Fyndly shows that the Baldwin Target has a T1 Camper Van in stock for $49.  Thats about 35 miles from me, so I'm not going to make the trip, but I thought you lived out that way.  Thought you might like the tip.

Soooo... I think I may have just gotten the deal of the year (decade??) on a random stop at Target today in Woodbury, MN!!  I was pursuing the almost empty LEGO section and as I came upon the end cap, there was this:

I looked at the clearance sticker and almost lost my mind!

Needless to say, this was immediately placed in the cart and purchased!  There was only one on the shelf or I would have bought another.  It just goes to show... Always keep a look out as you never know what you will find!

Manager: "What's this LEGO shipment dated 6 months ago?"

Employee: "Well...uh...see...I might have forgot to put those out when you told me to."

I went into a Target the week before Christmas and saw a similar scene with the Halloween series instead.
  • SweepyDSweepyD Member Posts: 78
I don't think I've even seen that many boxes in total. Geez!

Well I hit target and a majority of the clearance lego got destroyed. Still not sure if I got re-sellers near me or just people making a trip and buying for kids.

Luckily I got the stuff I really wanted, was hoping for another markdown on an item or two though.

    Good luck to anyone else!

Me too! At least five cases worth which was extremely odd for my Target. All my area stores were really late putting S14 out though so... Maybe a delayed shipping thing and they were left holding bc everyone did what I did and went somewhere else.

Target has some Lego for 50%.

Chima, Movie... some others are 30% like City.

As always, they're select themes or older sets.

Yep! There were more boxes and cubes to the left and right too, couldn't get it all in the shot.

The shelves on the other side of the aisle were bare other than a handful of sets.

You beat me to posting this unbelievable scene! Huge letdown when they scanned at retail. If they had been $1 or even $2, I would have been there awhile.

That looks remarkably like the Columbia, MD  Target right after Xmas. My wife and I picked out complete sets of Series 12, 13 and 14 in about 45 minutes time. Too bad they weren't marked down. I guess this is how the CMF habit starts..... something I've avoided thus far.

I picked up about 5 extra Hot Dog Guys before feeling shame and leaving the rest in the boxes for others. We only managed to locate one Fencer in of all those S13 boxes!

Edit: We did our scavenging on 12/27 and all of the boxes were definitely rummaged through pretty well.

I decided to pull the trigger on #75139 today. $50 plus 5% red card. So just over 20% off Lego retail. Much better than buying Kylo Rens shuttle for over 2x that price to get Kylo. Plus the other figs are great as well.

#75139 I think shows how absurd LEGO SW is getting in terms of cost

Yeah. And that build of Takodana is pretty pathetic.

Then again, I guess they expect the "die-hards" to buy multiple sets to create the more realistic Takodana.

I agree that set just looks atrocious for that price point

Multiple sets at that RRP? 'Die Hards' is a good description. Combine this set with the new Sith Infiltrator as what I think are the most gouging sets for SW that LEGO has put out this year.

Do you think I overpaid at 21% off. I know it not 27%, but close. I totally agree this set is not worth $60 and heck $50 is still on the high side given the lackluster set. I'm not buying to resell. My kids loved TFA and saw it 3 times. At $47.50 it was approaching 10 cents per piece.

If your kids find enjoyment in it then you paid what it's worth, as an outsider looking in at that set its just really poor value IMO, it doesn't look that impressive and it's all about the mini figs which kind of sucks if you are more into building stuff

No, I think you need to get these sets on sale though. 20% is not bad and probably what will likely be expected with these sets.

I don't. 20% seems to be a standard discount at which Lego becomes attractive.

And I agree: it's the best way to get Kylo Ren at a much cheaper price point.

But that still doesn't excuse Lego for putting up just a corner facade of the building.
    Just my two cents.

Notwithstanding the comments here, CapnRx gave the set very high marks. At over 20% off I think you are doing fine.

How did did you get it for $50?  Target is showing me $60.
  • Rainstorm26Rainstorm26 Member Posts: 1,018
Add it to your cart. It may be different. That was another reason I pulled the trigger. When I did a search last night, the search page showed 60 but when I clicked on it, it was still 50. I knew then they may be on the verge of fixing the price discrepancy.
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,335
It is no longer showing as $49.99 in cart. Plus store pick up shows 4-7 days for me even though the stores near me have stock.

$60 for 5 figures and a chunk of a wall.  just insane.

Finn, Kylo Ren, and Maz Kanata combined are averaging about $70 on BrickLink right now. Obviously, that will go down (probably by almost half, eventually), but if the set settles at ~$50, I think it's a decent price given the characters included.

For a minifigure collector that only needs Maz Kanata, this set doesn't do them any favors. But for someone like me, who doesn't have any TFA characters, this set is pretty appealing even at RRP.
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
^ well, I'm always happy to take advantage of silly minifigure collectors when it gives me an opportunity to build up my parts collection for free (or even for profit!)

Honestly, I had already targeted this set as a good candidate for buy and quickly sell minifigs. Glad to see I was right.  Though from experience, the prices start dropping REALLY fast on bricklink on these types of deals.

#70226 Mammoth's Frozen Stronghold found fro $29.  Have to admit I'm a sucker for those frosty blue tusk/tail/rib parts.  I keep seeing Game of Thrones.

So, all in favor of buying multiple sets of #75139 selling off the mini figure doubles and then build the set they way it should be?  I'm thinking 4-5 sets should do it!! :)

It wouldn't be because that one is a Wal*Mart exclusive. Funny enough in my most recent visits to the LEGO Store over the past few weeks, it's the the only JW set I've consistently seen in stock.

Only thing I found was 70143 and 70401 both for $13.98 each. The Lego aisle was shockingly sparse, feet of space between sets, entire spans of bare shelves. I just wanted something Jurassic Worldy.
