I got an email from Walmart, #75532 selling for $35.99. They had none local, so I checked Target. They had it locally for same price, and a $10 gift card with $50 purchase promo, so I added #75535 ($17.99) and #41604 ($6.99) to get the promo.

Local Target is really stepping up to cover the LEGO gap left by Toys R Us. Over 75 feet of aisle facings and a new section with Architecture sets. Meanwhile, the closest Walmart has a little less than 20 feet of one aisle for LEGO.

New Architecture sets were in a corner in the back of the book section, not with the rest of the toys, still being stocked when I was there.

Or WalMart - Target's Black Friday LEGO deals have been unimpressive before but those are just ordinary sales

Walmart's were just as unimpressive IMO. I'm sure people will fall over themselves for that part set, but I'm not one of those people. I went through a lot just to get the large part set they used to sell when it went online at like 4am. These are not worth it, going into the store, or trying to get them online.

Target has the Winter Village Station back in stock for $63.99, plus the red card discount, plus the gift card offer. I ordered it and canceled my order from Amazon - this is by far the better deal.

However, and I'm probably not going to fret over $0.53, but the red card didn't take the full 5% off the item for me. It was more like 4.22% ($2.70 instead of $3.20, additional $0.03 is tax). Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Did you use a gift card for part of the payment?  If so that portion won’t have the Red Card discount.

I spoke with a Target chat representative. Apparently, because of the gift card deal, they reduce the value of the item by $10 and then calculate the discount. That would account for the $0.50 difference (well $0.53 in my case because of the tax). So basically, the 5% was calculated off of $53.99 instead of $63.99.

Can confirm this one.  Was very confused when 3 GC promo purchases resulted in 6 transactions on my Red Card.  3 for the reduced totals on my items, 3 for the $10 GCs

This can also benefit you when purchasing in stores because the tax is actually charged as if you received a $10 discount, not on the actual purchase price. I tried to figure out my receipt for a while and why the numbers weren't making sense before I realized that this was happening.

^That's a little better than the Silent Mary I just got. Seeing as I don't keep most boxes I'm ok with the condition as long as the parts inside are ok. If I want a perfect box I go to the store to pick one out.

Yeah, but you cannot really do that with D2C exclusives

I was fortunate enough to get in on the coupon stacking from a few months back and that's pretty much how everything I ordered arrived.  I'm not a collector per se but I do like my boxes to be as pristine as possible.  If it weren't for the incredible deal, I would've been pissed.  Actually, I was still a little pissed but let it slide because of the deal.  All this to say, I know the feels, bro.

To be fair, this is the Target deals thread, but yes, LEGO stores and LEGOLAND Discovery centers (as well as some retail 'flagship' stores) have these.

Itemizing of gift card promo confused me as well.
In general, I pay only subtotal with redcard and difference after discount and sales tax with cash, similar would be a chance to use a giftcard without losing any redcard discount, but I've been giving the giftcards to a relative who doesn't have a redcard anyway

It’s open. Oh well. I also got the $10 gift card for buying over $50 worth of LEGO, so I couldn’t return it without a lot of hassle or losing that credit. Was thinking I could get them to price match it (would still keep me over the $50 limit), but their website states:
    • Price matches and adjustments to competitors will not be allowed for prices from Thanksgiving Day through the entire week after Thanksgiving (11/22/2018 – 12/01/2018).

^ Interesting, although it does say “to competitors” so I’d think they would still match their own web price. I agree about not opening the Pandora’s box of returning an item that came with a gift card.

I don't know about Target (we don't have them here any longer), but most retailers will adjust your bill if the item in question goes on sale within 14 days of your purchase. You just bring your receipt to customer service (you don't even need to bring the item), and they'll just refund you the difference reflecting thier current price.

I don't know if holiday clearance sales would be exempt from that though. It feels like they might.

    Blast from the past:
#5004468 Iconic Easter Minifigure (Chicken Guy) is $2.99

Not seeing any decent Cyber Monday deals so far, though if you still need #10253 Big Ben, that is at $199 (sold out at Amazon and shop.Lego, and I think Walmart as well).

Went to go pick up my #10259 Winter Village today like normal and waited around for 30 minutes while they searched high and low for it, but in the end it was unable to be found.  Pretty disappointed since that is probably my final chance to get one of these at a decent price.

Not a massive deal, but the DC Rage of Atlantis Blu-Ray/DVD pack with the Jessica Cruz GL poly is $6 today.  Target also has a promo that takes $5 off a $20 book purchase, so I picked up the DC Visual Dictionary with the Sinestro Batman minifig, the Atlantis Blu-Ray and a book for my son for less than $20 shipped.

Don't forget the 15% off which makes Jessica Cruz $5.10.  I picked up a few to build my green lantern army.  I can give the movies away as prizes.

I just checked Target's website this morning and it appears they have #10259 Winter Village Station back in stock at $63.99.

I also noticed that #10253 Big Ben is still available at $199.99 from Target.

Thanks!  Too bad they are not still offering the gift card, but still glad to get one.  When I was waiting in store yesterday they did make it right.  I don't want to say how, but I walked out fairly happy, even better now that I'm still able to secure one of these.

Looks like #10247 Ferris Wheel is gone now.

I also noticed that #10242 Mini Cooper had a few come back in stock, but at full price. I ordered it a few weeks ago to get the gift card. Although I was also expecting it to get retired.

Edit: A few more #10259 Winter Village Station have come back in stock again for $63.99.

    30% off select LEGO today.
    Most notably,
    #10253 Big Ben - $199.99
    #76108 Sanctum Sanctorum - $82.99
    #70616 Ice Tank - $63.99
Surprisingly, they also still have #75826 King Pig's Castle - $51.79. Not a bad deal, if only for the parts.

Up to $300 per household. I have the $ so I may as well max that out, I'll use them eventually. Even if in practice I'll use them instead of RedCard, that's still an additional 5%

Someone I was talking to, didn't understand why buy the gift cards instead of using a red card.

Sure, you pony the money upfront but a 10% on top of a lower price and/or with Cartwheel comes out more than a Red Card EVEN if you can't use it.

Yep and I had the $ to pony up front as you put it.
Hard to beat that rate of return that low risk that cheap.
Redcard reduces the amount sales tax is charged on, taking 1/20th of the sales tax rate out of the 5% gain but still great.
Any Cartwheel deal is the same either way so that doesn't factor into it
