Has target been hiding the clearance Dimensions starter packs somewhere? I looked in the aisle the Target app said they were in today but saw zero sign they ever existed.
Look around electronics. You'll probably find them where they put the other electronics clearance items. I found the Xbox 360, PS4 and WiiU versions, but no Xbox One.
Thanks guys :) Tried a different store today (Southtown) and found a clearance end cap in electronics. They had a lot of starter packs, the cheapest of which were the Wii-U at $13.48 so I grabbed the two they had.

Rather than the Braniac Attack version.
    Or the Dimensions version.
    Or DC Superhero Girls...
    Don't forget the keychain edition!

What's everyone planning on doing with the Dimensions?

    Reselling the starters?
    Selling the components separately?
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,482
The one I bought will be used for Dirty Brickster at BBTB. Minus the Gold Ninja. ;)

I just bought them (Starter packs) for the parts. Thinking of selling or giving away the discs and the bases.

^It'll be interesting to see if the prices drop any further or it they'll send them off to 'salvage' (Goodwill).

    @77ncaachamps,

The $14.00-$17.00 price is around 75% off at U.S. Target stores. The Starters should not go much lower. I do expect that at the $15.00 price range they will sell out before being sent to Goodwill (where they'll be under glass and sold at $50.00 a pop in my town :/ if history repeats :/ ).

I'm buying the starters for parts and sharing the game and platforms with friends to enjoy.  I'm also looking at using the platform in a MOC. I was thinking about designing a Lego tower of some sort. I just like the clean look of the Lego emblem on the front.

Plus, now that I have extras of the platform, I can open one up and hack the light-system :D

@krklint Goodwill is no cheaper than Target’s clearance prices, nowadays...
  • krklintkrklint Member Posts: 502
Where I live, Goodwill often sells Lego sets at 3X what Target's clearance price is. I've found polybags at Goodwill for $5.00.
  • TkattTkatt Member Posts: 472
I found XboxOne and PS4 Dimensions starter packs for $9.04 today. They had close to 50, I only bought one.  Also I saw the 5 in 1 city starter for $34.98, skipped that though.

No S18's out. Maybe they're waiting to get rid of the TLBM S1's but that's not going to happen. No CMFs at all near checkout except for a stray loose bag.
I don't need more stuff to part out at that quantity and price so I've been holding off on those Dimensions starter packs
  • krklintkrklint Member Posts: 502
@ryjay, I live near the wrong Goodwill stores. I've tried to negotiate, and they tell me that prices only change with special sales days :(  Maybe it is a regional or managerial decision per store?  Until I know, I just have to get to Target before they donate the stuff out.

Found some MF's for $1.48 and Groot keychains for S2.48.

^Saw the same city set for the same price.
Also found the BttF Brickheadz, only two total as previously reported...
Felt every series 18 they had, all policemen gone as expected and an employee said they had no more in the back.
  • ryjayryjay Member Posts: 1,006
@77ncaachamps & krklint....I've done it many times and at different stores, too.   Just ask for the manager and make an offer.  There have been times when they say no, but many times when they say, "deal".

I bought 3 more PS4 starter sets there today, and two of the Laval fun packs. Still a lot of starter packs left at that price. I’ll give one starter set to my niece and nephew.

    Darn.

Brickseek still showing $54.99 and 29.99 as prices (lowest ones OOS)

I noticed that my Target put the Flying Fox and Rathtar escape on the endcaps possibly for clearance but the prices still scanned MSRP. WM has the FF on clearance...not sure if Rathtar is too.
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 852
^Yes...WM has #75180 Rather Escape for $35....if they still have them.  A few WM started putting them on clearance after X-Mas.  So I would imagine there's few left at WM at this point.
  • AwesomenessAwesomeness Member Posts: 209
^ I know the 2 WM I frequent had them sell out as soon as they hit $54 clearances.

The price in store and the price in the Target app was different.  I asked and they price matched the app.

EDIT: and I just checked Brickseek and the lower price is showing.  Something is out of sync between the online system and the store.  But good for me!

    Went to two Targets today.

LEGO dimensions starters and other sets are no longer scanning. Must mean they are starting to get pulled for Goodwill....

saw a Friends Easter poly and it should have been about a dollar but the clearance sticker wasn’t on there.

therefore, Target’s policy of honoring the last listed sale price meant if I wanted to buy it, it was going to be $3.99.

    NOPE

I’ve not seen Target trying to pull this before. I’d guess it’s just a weird glitch in their system.

Found a #30422 sitting with the polybags at Target today. I'm not sure if Target ever sold them, and it didn't ring up, but they let me buy it for $3.

If I were going to hide a toy to hopefully retrieve later, I'd hide it where they put the Groot keychains.

Puzzling as to why Target is in a rush to get rid of the Groot keychain but the tuxedo Batman still sits at $5.99.

Maybe because it is a LEGO Store GWP next month. Why go to the LEGO store or S@H to buy sets at full price when you can simply pick it up at Target :-)

(I think) It is usually the other way around: a LEGO Store GWP appears at Target/Walmart/TRU afterwards.

    Excludes LEGO
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,482
Where does it say that? When I click it gives me a list of stores.
  • thenosthenos Member Posts: 444
The one I saw most definitely excluded LEGO.
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
You can just assume that all coupons exclude Lego unless they are actually from LEGO, and even then it's a possibility. But in the fine print it excludes everything worth buying.

Coupon exclusions happen a lot, might be the manufacturer rather than the retailer being restrictive, so don't necessarily blame Target

#72001 or #72002 30% off look like great deals for part out, but heavily weighted towards minifigures, and many Technic or other specialty parts, so prices may be volatile. Seems common for Nexo Knights

72001 was 30% off, got all 4. 72002 was still full price in store, but $15.99 (20% off) online. [I had forgotten which one I saw on clearance]
LEGO aisle rearranged, further emphasizes Star Wars and superheroes
Found one Groot keychain but it scanned at $5.99
