It did seem odd for a free set.

@Eaglefan344 Target has a recent coupon offer for toys and had LEGO excluded. Here’s to hoping but my feeling is LEGO will be excluded.

That Christmas tree is the cardboard box with a tree printed on it that was discussed in another thread on here somewhere. So not a brick-built tree.

Also, I already have that Santa so only Kiss Kiss Batman for me then.

Texted for the coupon early and it does NOT include Lego. Figured it was worth a shot.

I may be listing a few keychain in the marketplace within the next few days.  Keep your eyes open!

Target somehow has a copy of the Pet Shop for retail

Says "unavailable" now. This did prompt me to check Bricklink to see how the set was doing. Only 1530 copies available! Lowest price new is $158.00 which is MSRP plus tax.

SF Bay Area Hayward Target have three of the gift out available for purchase,  but the keychain for 5.99 and the tree for 6.99, still debating!!

Sounds silly, but was on my way to Target when I saw I could get them online as well. Decided it would be easier to just get them online and not have to worry about if the staff could find them in the back, then if they would sell them or not, and if they would let me get five.
  • ryjayryjay Member Posts: 1,009
    But, but they're on sale....

You made the right decision.  They were concerned about whether or not they were supposed to be selling them yet after I got them to track them down.  When the supervisor type walked away to help somebody else for a bit, I mentioned they were available online one more time, and the junior associate reluctantly handed me two.

I got a little paranoid when I scanned them on my phone, and it said see associate.  Luckily, they scanned ok at the self checkout.

At least 3 kiss kiss up for trade in the marketplace!  By yours truly :)

This one Target I went to had a bajillion TLNM minifigs. After going through about three cases, I found two Coles. Didn't know he was in such high demand - is it the boombox? Of course they had more at the checkout aisles.
  • Brewer313Brewer313 Member Posts: 7
I saw that at my Target too. $4.79, but not on sale. Some Series 16 for $3.99 at one of the self-checkouts. The WM across the highway has 3 boxes of TLNM for $2.00, marked at $3.97

I just ordered 2 of the keychain & got free shipping + 5% off using my Redcard. Not a bad deal since who knows what will be on sale during the promotional period.
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 852
Stopped in one of my local Targets today and they had the Nov. promos out on an endcap.....all except for the mini Millennium Falcon...those they hadn't received.  The store had 40+ Kiss Kiss Batman Keychains, only 2 box X-mas tree($6.99) and about 15 Santa poles #30478 ($3.49).
I normally don't buy LEGO from dept. stores unless it's 50% off...but Targets 20% Star Wars for a few LEGO isn't bad....the new BB8 and the Clone Turbo Tank for $65.

They missed a great opportunity here. One side should be marked in units of studs. Even better if the other side was in brick heights.

Check the end cap hangers and/or the accessory section (wallets, storage, watches, etc.)

Thanks!  I only look at what polys they have there and move on, never paid attention to the other random stuff they have there.  Wish I knew before I went to 2 stores today!

Went to target today to get the batman keychain and the people there had no idea what it was.  They kept thinking it was the turtle and I explained to them that the batman promo had just started today.  I even showed them how it added the keychain to your order online.  They offered me a free #30497 instead and by that point I had confused them enough between that and getting them to price match #70915 with their online price, so I just took it.
I'd still like the keychain and brickseek says they have them.  Now I just need to hope they put them on the shelf in the next couple days so I can grab one.

Give them the DPCI code for the keychain next time:  204-00-0265
Or the LEGO  item code: 5004928. If they cannot find them after that, someone should be fired at the store. Sorry, but employees should know darn well there is such a promo.

Went to a local Target today.  They had it plastered all over the Lego aisle (buy $30 in Batman Lego, get Keychain free).  They also had the keychains, turtles, christmas trees, and santa sets on an endcap for separate purchase, but only a couple Kiss Kiss Batmans were left(which I bought).  Tried another Target, and they didn't have them on the endcap, no one knew what they were, and there were no advertisements up.  Very strange.

At one Target yesterday, the signs were up but the key chain was not out.  I showed someone the toy book with the DPCI number.  The worker went into the back and brought them out and gave me one.  Getting it to ring up was a problem though.  Even though I was buying an expensive Lego Batman set, the key chain was registering with the price.  A manager entered in two coupons totaling 5.99 to make the key chain free.

I thought about that just after I posted. Having the studs numbered on the tiles would be helpful.

So I tried that, but the guy in toys just kept saying they don't have it and the front desk said to talk to that guy.  I just gave up on that store then and went to another the next day.  The guy working there didn't know about it but he at least looked it up, saw they had 100 in stock, and found them in the back.  So I was able to swap it out in the end

In each case nobody knew about the promo and I was the first person to even ask them about it.  Guess target doesn't communicate these things to its employees so well, though I would think someone might read the tags and wonder what's going on.

In my experience the only people that know about promotions are the people that set the ad/signage.  Most places "walk" their ad to make sure all sale stuff is out and available but clearly that doesn't happen 9 out of 10 times.

Unfortunately with online shopping hitting B&M harder and harder this isn't going to get any better.

The Edina store had the Batman, Santa, and happy turtle polys yesterday. They were on an end cap in toys, although I recall seeing only one turtle.

I was about to spend my $10 off a $50 toy purchase coupon that came with the toy catalog in the mail when I re-read it; excludes LEGO. :(

25% off Marvel toys cartwheel deal today only doesn't specifically exclude LEGO
