I thought Doctor Strange's Sanctum was gone for good as it is sold out at [email protected] and at the Lego store and I had missed my chance to get it (was waiting for a sale). However stopped by Target and they still had their shelf full of this set.

Yes, I have seen them in stock for regular price in most Target stores...I'm still debating whether to get it or not; I was not a big fan of the movie (except the visuals, which were stunning) but would like it in case I can add it to a MOC building.

I think the Antman set has created some curiousity about the Dr. Strange set as it is also a one-and-done set based on a Marvel movie.

Yes, I saw one of these today in my Target, only it was $7.98 on clearance.  Strange how these are coming out of the woodwork now.  Corporate must have required a backroom clean up.

20% off SW, City, and Duplo 5/21-5/27
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,342
20% off friends, star wars and duplo this week
#30401 did scan at $3.19 rather than $3.99 but #30279 was still at $3.49 service desk manually adjusted.
Will investigate later what regular sets are deals
  • JooTogJooTog Member Posts: 945
Some sets are marked down from RRP (at least in two of my local Target stores), so it's more than 20% off RRP.
For example, #401130 Amusement Park Roller Coaster is $80.99 + 20% off = $64.79 or 35% off RRP.

^ I believe this is true as long as it isn't a sale price. Shelf signs specifically exclude items already on sale.

Normally, you can find the compounded percentage sales on Targets website.  But this time, I found a number of sets that rang up cheaper in store than what was listed on the site.  I have wanted an extra #60134 City Fun in the Park People Pack for a while and it was listed 28% off on .com at 28.99, but in store, it had already been marked down to $31.99 and the discounts combined to end up at $25.  So it was already on sale AND had the 20% off on Targets site, but had an even bigger discount in store.  Saw about a half dozen other sets between City and Star Wars that were the same.
  • MegtheCatMegtheCat Member Posts: 500
^Yes, I got #75155 which in store was marked down to $67.99 + 20% off, while online it was on sale for $63.99 (actual 20% off of RRP).

Ugh. My local Target has a lot of stuff already marked down. Now need to go spend money...
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,342
30401 restocked, 30279 replaced with #30354 which is not scanning at 20% off, had to get that manually adjusted. Also they put another case's worth of S17 bags out.
  • AstrobricksAstrobricks Member Posts: 5,478
^ Grr. Targets by me have zero S17. Still trying to sell off backlog of TLBM CMFs I guess.

  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
I've only seen them at one Target in my area. Which is odd because usually Target is the go-to CMF place here. On the other hand, every single Walmart I've been to has had them. Which is a complete reversal because Walmart in my area usually don't get them.

The 20% off Star Wars deal is pretty hit or miss with the reduced-price items. I found the last Carbon Freezing Chamber down to $14.55, as well as Krennic's shuttle for $64.79. Other reduced-price items were iffy as to whether they stacked with the 20%. I'm sure customer service would have adjusted it, but my Target has consistently slow lines so it's rarely worth the effort.

One of my local Target's finally rolled out S17 this week.  Another I go to has had a smattering over the last three weeks and I was able to get most of what I want across 2-3 trips.  Mostly they are overflowing with LBM and S16.

And then popped into Wal-Mart *shudder* last weekend and they had 3 boxes of S17 on the shelf.

Found some CMF 17 left but obviously picked through. Still managed to find at least one French guy with his bulldog.

I like that #75532 Scout and Speeder bike, but I had no idea what is was selling at.
  • AstrobricksAstrobricks Member Posts: 5,478
Found a bunch of the new SW sets at the downtown Minneapolis Target today. No great deals; just the 20% off.
The only S17 I have found around here was one box at a Walmart, and that one had no rocket boys in it. Ended up with 3 corn cob guys.

I'm sure the 20% would be good on anything not already explicitly marked as being on sale, but you can always scan it, or just check when you get to the cashier. You can always decline to buy it then if you don't like the price.

It says on the sign not including things already on sale, but some sets have "recently reduced" prices, so it does work on them. Although one Target had the Friends roller coaster marked back at 100$, another had it for the $80 plus the 20% off, so YMMV. Other SW sets were hit and miss. Nothing new at my local areas. I had a few maybes on there, but I've also spent money elsewhere recently, so I'm torn. It ends 27th I think, so I have 2 days to figure it out.

Target in Hopkins had these Sterilite divided parts/craft bins that normally sell for $6 marked at $1.04. These are great for parts sorting and storage. I already had 6 and bought another 12 :-)

^ I have 10 or so of those. Yes, they are great for sorting and/or storing. I tend to mix and match the trays inside: Place 4 long ones together and 2 with the dividers together.

The trays are compatible with these: http://www.target.com/p/sterilite-174-stack-carry-tray-organizer-storage-tote-3-pc-clear-with-green-latch/-/A-14779289
...which I have 3 sets: 1 tower with all the trays for storage/sorting and 2 towers to store train tracks :-)

^ Yup. Got several of those as well. I didn't price check those. Better go check!....

    Nope. Those are regular price.

#30524 polybags in checkout lane. BL price is below retail, maybe because it had been a promo
They have a lot of TLBM and some S16 left
Another guy in the aisle was knowledgeable about pack feeling, fun when people offline know this stuff

Could you post the DCPI for that? I tried using brickseek with the UPC from your picture and got no matches here or in MI, hoping a DCPI match will work. Those look like hey will be awesome for sorting minifigure parts.

^^ 002-02-0578. When I use that on BrickSeek, it's at regular price everywhere except where I found it (Knollwood) and the price listed for that store is $1.78, whereas I paid $1.04.

Yeah, still at $5.99 at my store. Would have been nice as tiny containers often aren't worth it per unit of volume

I got #75137 Carbon-Freezing Chamber at $13.99 with the 20% off. None of the others interested me, although to be honest, I am not full of disposable income at the moment...
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,342
Yeah, 75137 is one of the better deals, though I see nothing truly spectacular.
I have money but not space or time to build or sort, so I'm also holding back.

Yeah, when I want a substantial part of a set, I may as well buy the whole thing and BL what I don't want.
    PS
Apparently WiFi at public places often blocks file storage sites like MediaFire, so I'll download that to my phone at home.

The mini fig side cap will be no more. they will only be at check lanes for now on.

This weeks work load for stores takes it down and puts up brick heads on it. Is what the 3 stores around me said.

The Target nearest me has Brickheadz where the Minifig side cap used to be, but the minifigs have just been stuffed into another sidecap with Mixels.

Moving them to the checkout lane would be a bad move, IMO
