Went to my local Target just now. The lego area looks like the bottled water isle before a hurricane is predited to hit.

Spider-man Bridge Battle down to $68.99. Target offers price matching for the before applicable promotion price, so if you bought at the $78.99 price, they'll price match it to $68.99 ignoring any promotions. Simple 2 minute online chat.
Woe, online chat is worthless fir me....

Found this... "Cartwheel offers, Target Gift Card offers and Target coupons cannot be combined with price match. Manufacturer coupons will be applied after a price match is made per Target’s coupon policy. Please review our Store Coupon Policy for additional details. "

I presume that means you can not combine the two.

@tamamahm Yeah, I figured. I am in chat now just to ask. No biggie if they don't. Still a cheaper price per than Amazon is currently. Just would be nice to get the new price at Target :) They may auto adjust later tonight or after midnight if Amazon's price holds.

Call 'em. The CS people are much more helpful on the phone, if less understandable.

@nuttamastabuilda  @Ma1234  and @pharmjod, Yes! you can price match the amazon price in combination with the $25 off $100 promo. I just did this through the web chat. $46.49 Each.
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
Well, that is a YMMV I guess. I was shut down on webchat. Not sure I want to call Customer Support to fool with it.

It's up to you, but $20 for a five-minute phone call...

Was it really a 5 minute phone call? I'm at work so the phone call will have to wait until after 6pm. Online chat I could do.

    K. I was shut down a second time in chat, so I'll call after work to see what I can do. Worth it for $40 (2 orders).

    K. Don't mention the promo or anything.

Full Disclaimer, I fired up the webchat before I placed my order and he told to to go ahead and checkout, then he did the price adjustment. both the price adjustment and the $25 of $100 were applied.

@CupIsHalfEmpty If I can't make the phone call work, I may try that. Thanks!
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
Phone call worked. Thanks gang! Easy $40 back for me with a 55% savings on the set. That's just nuts. Gonna sell the figs off and have the start of an epic bridge :)

HA!  It took a little digging but I found the same policy you found.  I may just call and try my luck.  Hopefully I'll get lucky too.  Thanks guys!

Wow...ordered spiderman bridge, avengers iron skull sub and capt America crossbones set for $80!  I've never spent so much on lego as I have this past month....if the wife only knew!

I guess I just got lucky re the price match (and a few others apparently).

But ugh now I'm tempted to keep buying more...Doc Ock and Ironman Sub can come out to $40.83 with Redcard and discounts, so basically I'm getting the sub for 84 cents!

Not to mention the Doc Ock set clearly fits into the same scene as the Bridge Attack.

I think it may be an unofficial holiday policy. Customer Service may be working under orders to "make the customer happy and keep the sale!" :)
  • ReesesPiecesReesesPieces Member Posts: 1,130
I called and one person said she will do one price match as a curtesy.  I called again for a second order and he offered a 10 gift card which I gladly accepted.  They are definitely working hard to please people.  To be honest, target customer has surpassed amazon's by far.

One of my Targets does too.
When asked, the toys department associate said they stock everyday and there's TONS in the back the employees haven't yet stocked.

Woohooo! Just called Target CC as well, price matched with Amazon two batcaves recently bought ($99.99 vs $88)

I guess it's the luck of the draw...I tied the web-chat...got "Titus".  After 25min...started at 9:30...and I'm currently still waiting....he tells me HE CAN price match...but only 1 of the 2 I ordered to save $10.  He told me "it's Target policy to only price match for a quantity of 1".

Feeling really damn stupid for buying all the lego batman movie sets along with others off S&H.  I could have saved hundreds and gotten more sets to boot...for example, the batcave plus a filler set to reach $100 = $75, whereas i paid $100 for the batcave alone.  fml.  double VIP makes it hurt less but this still sucks

Yeah it is really only good promo items that get me to shop there. With the ban on D2C set discounts seemingly lifted across the board in the US it will likely be even less buying there for me.

I don't mind when there are sale items, along with the promos, and 2x VIP  helps too.  When it's just 2x VIP, I usually just buy the stuff I can't find in stores around here.

Even though I received the price match and promo I was told it was a one time courtesy for our customers.  Hmm... I'll try again in store today and see what happens.

I placed an order yesterday and about 10 MINUTES later I realized that I've spent too much money (so many good deals on LEGO lately), so I called them to cancel the order and apparently they couldn't cancel it and now I have to drive OVER 50 miles to the nearest store to return them... hope you step on a million LEGOs Target.

Did you pay with a Citi or Discover card? They price match and it's pretty painless. I often will buy at LEGO.com for the promos/double points and then price match on Discover, sometimes even on the same day. You pay extra on the tax since they don't refund the tax difference, but otherwise get your money back. And they allow screen shots of Amazon.com, etc., does not need to be an ad.

Can't you just mail it back or is the postage paid by you?  My Target packing slips always said return by mail or in store but I never mailed it back since I have a store nearby.

Not bad of a price to guarantee it to be in hand as you walk out of the store!

Saw most of the new Ninjago sets, some Nexo Knights blind bags with shield powers, city sets and mighty micros doomsday vs wonder woman at Target today. No new batman minifigures but a sea of Disney and series 16.

I'm still amazed the Great Target Sale of 2016 is still going strong on with the $10 off $50 and $25 off $100 promo. I always that would be a 1 or 2-day thing.

no Batman CMF in my nearby Target  :(

Most sales Target or elsewhere are weekly, so I'm not surprised about that part. The coupon specifically says the 11th through the 17th.

    -

During a previous sale, a store employee told me she'd price match quantity 1, so I got 1 each of several sets, but sometimes I have been able to get multiples. So I'd agree it's hit or miss. In store sales might be useful to avoid trouble with pricematching, but online has some of those sets evne cheaper or other sets that are better deals.

I'm seeing S16 all over the place in my Target, will look for Babysitter (the only one that seems profitable on BL) and Rogue (army building). I don't see Batman feelguides or BL listings so I won't know what to do with those even if I found them.

I calculated deals for Friends, DUPLO, Star Wars and Superheroes (I might check some others tomorrow afternoon) - http://www.mediafire.com/file/xs40kaz0wsskd45/Part_Out_Value_2016.12.17.xlsx

Last couple days it's been too cold to bike much, so I took the bus between home and work. I might spend less time screwing around in stores even when biking. Tomorrow I don't work and the weather won't be so bad.

Picked up my final (???) LEGO purchases of 2016 at Target yesterday. I got #70604, #70594, #75131, and #31045. What would have been a RRP of $148 turned into a pre-tax total of $81.36 (45% off). Now I just need to cut off my access to the Internet and start building.

3 #70593 - near the top of the part out value list, and I already listed some - it will be easy to add more and I won't have to discount the parts any further. #70601 to get above $100.
  • dspigeldspigel Member Posts: 478
I attempted to pick up the Batman CMFs, however they didn't have any. So I bought #70909 and #70901 before the $25 off $100 deal ended. It's pretty official, my Lego buying season for 2016 is over.

I bought those same sets as well to get the $25 off. But look on the bright side Lego Buying Season 2017 is just 2 weeks away.
