Just went to Target yesterday and picked up some of the Disguise-brand LEGO Ninjago masks and gloves at 15% off. LEGO Nexo Knights masks and gloves were marked down too; I can't remember if the same applied to the full costumes. I was only interested in the masks and gloves since the full costumes are only in kid sizes while the masks and gloves are one-size-fits-all. They were on an endcap in the toy department.

There will probably be better sales after Halloween, but if anybody else wants to do any last-minute Halloween shopping this may be a good opportunity.

They were 25% off two weeks ago but this is the best you're gonna get since Halloween is right around the corner.

Went to Target today and noticed a shelf tag for #60097-1.  There were no sets on display, and I have never seen this set at my local Target.  I'm betting it will be one of the Black Friday discounted sets.

I saw those but hadn't thought to mention them since they're LEGO branded but not LEGO and I'm not a Halloween maniac

Yeah, that's fair. I figured a lot of people aren't interested in that kind of stuff, but at the same time, at least some people here are parents of younger LEGO fans who might be interested in those costumes. In my case I was mostly motivated because I'll be at BrickFair New Jersey this weekend and last year a lot of people wore Halloween costumes. Cosplay isn't a really big thing at most LEGO conventions I've been to, but I think it really helps make things more fun and festive.

Yesterday The Fold released a new LEGO Ninjago music video in which they wear these costumes. Now that I see that the tunic portion of the costumes can, in fact, fit an adult, I'm kinda kicking myself for not springing for the full costumes. Ah, well. Hindsight is 20/20.

^ I was wavering, my 5'7" 12-year-old is hard to find costumes for but though she loves Ninjago she's never identified with Nya, preferring to create her own character to insert in the stories. If it is going to fit her I'll offer the option in case she'd like to dress up for events. Our LUG has a member who had an excellent Emmett costume but he sold it, he was very popular the year he went to BrickFair Alabama.

As it sounds like you've been there before, are the costumes only LEGO-themed?

No, not necessarily. For the most part, people dress up as whatever they like. Tbh I don't know how many people will dress up this time around since BrickFair ends on the 30th (the day before Halloween), rather than actually overlapping it. But I figured I might as well be prepared.

There will be a costume contest on Saturday morning, but I'm not planning to enter. Maybe if I'd had the time and the wherewithal to put together something original, but as it is I've only got bits and pieces of a costume, and a store-bought one at that.

I'll refrain from my Transformers costume, but I think a Doctor might be in the house...

If you missed out on it the 1st, 2nd or 9th time, the minifig cube with Lightning Lad is back at 9.99 on target.com: http://www.target.com/p/lego-building-gift-set/-/A-49153007.

Which begs the question, will there be another minifig cube this year?  I seem to recall that we knew about the Lightning Lab pack right after the Superboy pack came out two years ago. I haven't heard of  anything since then.

@Lordmoral not saying there won't be one but the last two years they were leaked before hand. Either LEGO has gotten better at stopping leaks(highly unlikely), or we won't be getting one the year. Here's hoping we still get a Saturn Girl somehow.

  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
Definitely want a Saturn Girl, but I have a feeling the second one didn't do as well as the first. Either that or they vastly overproduced. There's a Target in my area that when I checked a month ago still had A LOT of them on the shelves. It's an out-of-the-way store that I don't believe is frequented as much, but they still had them.

All these 20% off sales we see at all the stores are nothing more then 2 price tiers....on for the fanatic who will pay the premium to "just buy it", and one for the common shopper...for lack of a better word.

Everything in store has eventually been 20% off at some time.  A real deal would be 20% off of that!  Even Lego knows they are sticking it to people :)  So now it is common practice to start MSRP 20% higher 'cuz there are people who will gladly pay it.....unfortunately.

Well I will say this, with all of these sales at all retailers lately (some are good prices, specifically for City and Creator sets) I am hoping to see some good sale prices for BF and Cyber Monday and also have the funds to take advantage of some of these sales.

^^^I second that & have so far saved almost $37 with Cartwheel. If only I could remember to take the barcode with me every time I go out (I don't have a smartphone.)
    KingAlanI
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,354
Yeah, 20% isn't a big sale, not enough of a margin for resale. Yet it's useful if you want the set yourself and/or want to buy enough for a promo.

@MegTheCat I have a smartphone, but hadn't known about the barcode printout when my phone screen wasn't working. However, I have the redcard debit card, so I first need to deposit into the bank account linked to it. That's another stop slightly out of my way. If after hours, I can deposit bills at the ATM but not coins.

In store only and none of the trackers are showing stock locally. May be a big YMMV, but great price for the set if your store has it!
  • tamamahmtamamahm Member Posts: 1,987
My stores also show out of stock, but I am also seeing that it says store info is temporarily unavailable, That may mean it really is not out of stock, but it just can not access the info.

It sounds like the item is in stock in the warehouse.

Well, I no longer see the message about store data not available, and it is definitely not listed at any of my stores. Quite the lame sale to advertise something that they are not carrying!

I love the sandcrawler which I am uncertain if they would ever make again, at least in this scale, or even the originals. However, I have to eat as well so it stays out of my collection.

I found a single copy of #76046 in stock near me today (Connecticut).  Confirming that I was able to get the 50% off with the Cartwheel app.  Sorry to hear that most didn't find any copies for the deal, but thanks to those who posted it - my sons were very happy!

Had to go to three Targets, but I finally found a #76046. All I can say is if you use brickseek call the store to be sure. Went to one Target and one person used a red phone and it showed 4, but another person used the black gun and they showed 0. Definitely hit and miss.

Struck out at my nearest store. LUG mates found one on the other side of town.

Oh well. Only fig that really interested me was the Wonder Woman.

The Technic Getaway Racer #42046 was $5.98 today in my Target store. It's listed at $14.99 on target.com still...
There was no sale tag or anything, just regular shelf label and quite a few boxes there.

Just saw the Black Friday ad on target.com.  They're going to have these sets available for $29.99 each, about 40% off:

    #21116 Minecraft Crafting Box
    #60079 City Training Jet Transporter
    #31038 Creator Changing Seasons
#76026 Super Heroes Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas
#41135 Friends Livi’s Pop Star House

They'll also have Dimensions Starter Packs for $39.99 and Fun Packs for $10 on that Wednesday and Thursday.

It's interesting how different Targets are across the land. That Wonder Woman set has been available at my local Target for quite some time, but never saw anything of a discount on it. I go down that aisle at least 3x/week since it is so close to where I work. Either way, I would only want it for WW, but with the new WW set coming out next year, I can likely wait.

The Black Friday could be a good deal. I could see myself wanting Changing seasons or Livi pop star house, but I don't want to to rush to get anything. They don't interest me that much and my daughter has enough LEGO as it is.
