Saw the following clearances in my local Target:
    - #75918 (T-Rex Tracker) @ 48$
    - #75919 (Indominus Rex Breakout) @ $90
    - #75917 (Raptor-Rampage) @ $35

Be careful with those #75919 Indominus Rex Breakouts.

I've seen taped over seals, loose seals, and returns on the Target shelves at various locations.

Yeah, guessing Amazon is price matching some of those 20% City sale prices.
Also, they had the #60097 City Square for only $115 apparently. City road base plate are included and 11.99 per set.

Which is why I refuse to buy LEGO sets from brick and mortar stores. Too easy to get stuck with tampered boxes

When buying the Walmart clearances last month I made sure the bags were complete and unopened (even though some boxes were already open), in front of the customer service associate. Had to visit some sites describing the contents of the set though (just to make sure I wasn't missing any non-bagged item).

That is a smart idea: opening them at the CS counter before purchase (or even after purchase but before leaving).

I remember buying a Lego set on clearance at Target but it was missing a minifig (City set, luckily). Since then, I bring any "questionably tampered" boxes to the CS counter to check before purchase. I found a #70728 (Battle for Ninjago City) on 50% clearance at Target but seals looked peeled and reapplied. I pointed this out to the CS and asked if I could check the contents. Luckily, I found a review online that mentioned the number of bags for the set (something, I think, Brickset needs to add to their set info) and I wasn't missing any; also, the bags were untampered.

The discounts are instead of sale price, but for some sets they've already lowered the regular price so then the discounts do stack. I noticed that with Friends Pop Star awhile back.

#30256 Ice Bear Mech polybags near registers. Surprisingly good part out value, about $9. Includes a dark bley 47458 which is also in #5004590 Bat Pod.

Also had a couple #30447 Captain America's Motorcycle, I expected that to have high part value and it did.

Scanned at $3.49, I'm going back for some ASAP.

Yeah, the Capt I saw were 3.49 at my store so I grabbed a couple more, they are just really good considering a figure typically goes for 3 dollars alone and a motorbike is about 4 dollars.
My guess is Target has them in the checkout aisles for the release of Civil War this week.

And the UCS Batmobile (8x I believe). Hard color in that part to get.

I need to visit the closest Target store and see if there are any Cap polybags that I can grab; usually there aren't any polybags to the one I go to.

    Cap polys are going fast.

i had a friend go the next day to one Target I just visited. All gone.

I've seen a lot of Cap polybags at the local Targets, and the price is only $3.49!

Also, looks like all the left over Jurassic World sets are finally going on clearance, they are still only 30% off

They've been on clearance at my local store for about a month. They just marked down the two cheapest sets (Pteranodon Capture and Dilophosaurus Ambush) to 50% off but the others are still at 30% off.

Yeah, the minifigure alone is much of the cost.

About time for Civil War to come out on DVD, a bunch of library patrons had been looking for it (Once I directed a guy to 973.7 for the American Civil War. D'oh! :P)

Got 2 #30447 and 11 #30256 on the 14th. Didn't have quite enough on my redcard, but wasn't going to risk some being gone. Also, I wanted to do the parting out all at once.
They Cap set does seem like a really good investment. And yeah, more motorcycles for my city! Woo!
I don't hold onto LEGO as an investment per se, just however long it takes to sell at current prices. I'm not interested in any of the parts myself.

Or that...thought it would have more of an impact on a smaller set, why I said that.

I saw a couple #75915 yesterday, didn't check whether they were still there tonight, I was occupied...

Last night, saw a whole endcap rack of S16. Had to go back! Was delayed and unable to deposit into the account linked to my redcard. By evening, there were still a lot left - and good ones, too. Got 5 banana guy, 7 penguin boy and 4 babysitter. It took awhile to check all those packs and I still have a few dozen to go. I set aside some Rogue and a Dog Show Winner for later.

Hadn't seen the cardboard rack before. Looked like 12 pegs and 10 packs each, so 2 cases' worth?

Sounds about right. A case holds 60.

If you found at least 4 babysitters then yes, probably two case, as there are only 3 baby sitters in the 60 pack boxes, so I'm guessing 6 in the end cap displays. I wound up getting a set via minifiguresplus and have just been grabbing extras when I find them in the store.

I may be going back to Target tomorrow or Monday to look for Capt America Civil War on Blu ray and maybe check out the CMF 16 if they still have any since I last was there.

I know that, I wonder how this compares to the figure distribution of 2 regular cases.

Maybe there are some Babysitters remaining in the packs I haven't searched. Perhaps somebody else got a few. I may have mistaken them for something else and left them on the rack, erring on the side of caution. I'm not collecting the set, so I've been searching for valuables and ones I want personally.

Saw another #30256 and #30447 today, got those. Found 2 more Babysitter. Hopefully can go back for more CMF's tomorrow.
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,354
Found 2 Penguins, 4 Bananas and 12 Rogues today. It seems like the box was two cases worth, and the bags directly on the rack were another case. I got all of the Penguin/Rogue from 3 cases and most of the Banana/Babysitter.

Foothill Ranch Target. At least 1 complete set of CMF16 hanging from a rack. A lot of Banana Guys and Rogues.

Got several Penguins and Little Devils, a couple of Photographers, and a few Desert Warriors (this is the army I'm building out of this series)... and a Cyborg by mistake.

Also some people get annoyed by shelf-clearing or cherry-picking. It may seem pretty calm around here right now but there was much angry shouting and arguing about things like this a couple years ago. (It was rather entertaining though, I think that is what got me hooked on this forum as much as anything)

I think the main point this time around is that this thread is primarily about finding special deals, sales, or clearance items at Target. Not just run of the mill current sets available at full price. At least, that was always my interpretation. But I also haven't been around as long as some, so I don't know the full history of the forum.

For a while it seemed many people were having trouble finding any CMFs at Target - or any other brick and mortar stores. The posts that mention a specific local store can be helpful to folks who are still looking. The only posts about CMFs that annoy me are when somebody mentions buying all of the ones on the shelf and then returning the ones they don't want.

^ E.T. isn't until November I think.  Bestbuy did deliver by Mr. T today though instead of Tuesday.  May need to order more when they go on sale as I love the head piece, was expecting a 1x1 round tile but it is more like an inverted L and goes over the back of the head to.

I avoided tipping off other locals before I have a chance to get the stuff myself. I do want to spread the word about something others may want. And saying you already got something may keep other shoppers from wasting their time.

I examine packs in store and only go to the register with the ones I want. Buy and return is at best an extra step. Buying them blind doesn't make sense.

Saw the new Rogue One builable figures on the shelves but they come up as "Item not found" when you scan them.

Also, none of the three Target stores I've checked have any polybags, at the registers or anywhere. Oh well.

^ Saw the hover tank but they wouldn't sell it til Friday apparently. Same thing  happened when scanned - "Item Not Found"
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,354
got #41121 Adventure Camp Rafting with cartwheel and redcard. I didn't have quite enough on my redcard but I still got the full discount. I think that's because I had enoguh for the item price even though I had to pay some of the sales tax with cash. There's no discount there, thoguh I only pay 8% on 95% of the original price, stacking to 2.7% over the original price.

If anyone hasn't noticed, Targets cartwheel has Lego Jurassic World and Avengers video games for 30% off and the latest Star Wars 40% off...I would assume you can still get the Finn minifigure included with the Star Wars gold/deluxe version too.

Some Targets lowered their Jurassic World sets today to 50% off.  I was able to find a few #75919 Indominus Rex and 5 #75918 T-Rex.  Something was up with Targets and the 3 smaller sets.  All 3 stores say they have multiples in stock...according to Brickseek and Targets own scanners...but at all 3 stores none could be found.  They were on the Lego shelves last week and then 'supposed' to be moved to the endcap clearance shelves...yet none can be found and no one has any idea.  I'm guess they got sent back to corporate.

  • sonsofscevasonsofsceva Member Posts: 542
^If that were the case, the inventory would reflect that because they record what they ship out. More likely, the box was misplaced by the stocking crew and it is back there just waiting to be discovered.
  • DavidBrickleyDavidBrickley Member Posts: 375
It may be the sets sold right as they were being marked down and the system glithced...I picked up #41075 Treetop Hideaway right as they were being marked down to $13.48, and the on-hand numbers on fyndly didn't change until a couple of weeks after, as if the ones I bought didn't register against on hand quantity.
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,830
Check other sections of the store, especially the part where they keep furniture. I've run across multiple sets stashed behind storage drawers and such things, apparently hidden by people who knew there was a markdown coming. If the stores REALLY want to know where those sets went they can review store security footage.

@ryjay really looking for JW sets as the Targets near me are OOS. Didn't buy into it because I was waiting for price drops and then when they happened, doh!
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 852
I did check all the Lego clearance isle...by the furniture and the sporting good....but what I was saying...is that this example happened at 3 different stores.  Yet Brickseek and the Target employees hand-helds say they're in-stock but on clearance.  But if others are finding them (#75915, #75916, #75917) then they weren't returned for selling online.  I just found it odd that they were on the Lego shelves for a month...then taken off those shelves to be put on 'clearance' shelves but never they never made it there and show still in-stock and not in back storage.  2 of the Targets are in the same city..but when I was 60 miles away this Target had the same situation.  Couldn't find 5 #75917 sets.  But at least this store had 2 #75919 for $65 and 5 #75918 for $34.98.

Saw them in Hollister.  They had 2 ea, none of the larger sets, however.  They also still had on display the AT-AT and snow speeder in the shelf display box.  I spent most my time trying to get that...no luck.  The store manager said when a new display arrives that one will then be removed and "destroyed"....destroyed to some one's house!  I was hoping mine.

BTW, San Jose Toy show is today, maybe a dealer would be unloading JW sets there for a deal.
