I knew there would be something to prepare for Easter (Easter Bunny's got to have something to bring, right?), but I was REALLY hoping it would be Superhero stuff.

    Thanks for sharing, though!

Yesterday bought 75054 AT-AT on the target website to be picked up in-store. $90.99, minus 10% employee discount, then 5% red card. End total with tax was $83.85 :D

Only worked on the mobile target website for some reason.

Hmmm my Target just got the Frozen set back in stock. Now may be the time to finally pick it up. Thanks for the heads up!

Never mind... move along... nothing to see here.
  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 1,016
If Super Hero was involved, I would have had to pick something up. 20% off isn't anything to turn my nose up at, but I don't think there is enough to justify to buy.

And too bad with the Hobbit. I like the Bilbo dvd cover art better than the blu ray cover art..I realize I'm only buying it for the figures, but still...

Cartwheel app says $31.99 for the Frozen castle. Now I just have to find one in stock!
  • ryjayryjay Member Posts: 1,009
^ Most Targets had a shipment in of these last Wednesday and most were gone again by the time the sale hit.  The store shave a sale tag up on the Castle, but I doubt they will ever get inventory. before the sale ends.  However, they will take an order online for it at the $31.99.

BTW, the Cinderella's Carriage #41053 is $19.99, and Jasmin's #41052 magical kiss is $18.39...much cheaper then in the stores

More Lego on sale this week at Target. If you click thru in the ad you'll see the eligible list includes several superheroes sets, including 76026 Grodd Goes Bananas for $39.99 (argh - which I just bought yesterday from the Lego store for full MSRP + points).

just got two hulk buster from target this morning!
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Just bought a few of the Super Hero sets that are on discount at Target. Overall, the sets haven't seen huge discounts elsewhere, so 10-14% off is actually a "deal." That, and the fact that I no longer go "hunting" for sales in-store anymore. The waste of time and gas just doesn't feel worth it to me as it once may have.
  • GIR3691GIR3691 Member Posts: 674
Got the last Hulkbuster at my nearest Target. Most of the sets on sale weren't labeled. They were also out of the dragon creator sets.
  • HokieJoe99HokieJoe99 Member Posts: 351
If the Hulkbuster is sold out at Target, don't forget to ask for a rain check. You might also be able to apply the same % off to another LEGO set.
  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 1,016
I ended up picking up the Hulkbuster and Hydra set on this same sale, but at Shopko a few weeks ago. If you haven't heard of ShopKo, I think of it as a K-mart/Sears love child...I just get that depressing feeling whenever I go in there.

How long is the rain check good for? 30 days?

My closest Target just raised prices on many Legos above MSRP :(
Not that big of a deal, but another reason to pay attention and price match, especially price match to their own Target on-line prices.

    @ryjay, you're not alone.

I think it's because people are price matching as well as they are realizing that if TRU and Amazon are increasing their MSRPs, may they can do so - but not to their level - and still increase profits.

At my local Target, SW Destroyer $110.99, Wookie ship was $69.99 and Advanced Tie was $40.99.

That doesn't beat another Target (located in a shopping plaza) that had the Destroyer at $140!

With the increased prices, it renders the 5% negligible now unless you price-match.

^i'm seeing the same mark up.  Even little Creator sets are seeing a $0.50 mark up.  Frustrating to say the least.  They aren't expensive enough to start with???

I noticed last week that the Milano Spaceship Rescue (which wasn't selling at $74.99) had been jacked up to $99.99; I imagine it's so that when the markdown comes in a few weeks, they won't be losing as much money. I think it's kind of scummy, but that's how they're doing it now.

I just saw an Imperial Star Destroyer #75055 at a local Target retail for $153.99.

You can buy it directly from Lego for $129.99 AND get a Winter Soldier!
  • DoubleDDoubleD Member Posts: 488
75055 for 153.99 is really not a deal. Maybe we should have a new thread called getting hosed.(ysmv)

    I really don't understand it.

You can hit multiple Targets from one end to another of a geographic region and will see some crazy price differences!

saw the same nonsense at my Target. Watch the Milano got clearance for 15% off of $99.99 and still be over RRP
  • dragon114dragon114 Member Posts: 642
Wonder how their big clearance sale will be like.

It's a bait and switch really.  They up the price, take a percentage off to sell it at MSRP, and make the normal consumer think it's a deal.  Unconscionable.

Looks like Amazon is starting to join Target and TRU.

IF this keeps up, this is gonna suck for people who don't have a Lego Store nearby.

Amazon just follows what other retailers do. They no longer instigate any sort of pricing war anymore since 10 years of losing hundreds of millions of dollars is not healthy for any business. If target has a lego sale, Amazon will price match.

I have noticed that Target has been doing this as of late.

Even in store, they will have a sale tag but the price is like 5-50 cents off the msrp.

Close to it. Those usually end with xx.94 or one cent cheaper. lol

So usually all three of my Target stores have been consistent with offering sets for standard retail price.

We stopped at one on Saturday and it was all over the place. Some sets were $2 higher than retail, while some, like the Jasmine set, were actually $0.80 cheaper ($19.19).

Just ordered all three of the Guardians of the Galaxy sets which are all on sale right now online. #76019 is $12.59 (regularly $19.99); #76020 is $19.99 ($39.99) and #76021 is $49.99 ($74.99). So the entire collection for a mere $78 when you include the Target RedCard discount; or $3 more than just the Milano.

Thanks for the heads up! I finally broke down and got the Milano after missing out on the earlier Amazon deal.
  • The Milano was seriously a fun build. I highly recommend it.

First time I have seen in stock items show up as "visit store to purchase" and not let you do customer pick up.  Even while still showing the add to cart option!  I am sure in store you can get them to honor the online price, but it becomes more of a hassle.

@ecm047....did they have the Ghost showing over $106.XX  before the 50%?  I've seen it that way at two Targets with the original price jacked up.
  • rawbobrawbob Member Posts: 535
Price was $89.99 in Washington DC tonight for the ghost.

No, the price was 89.99 originally - no artificial markup.  I also have seen the Ghost and B-Wing at 50% off.  (Brickseek is awesome!)
