I remember when 21110 was selling close to $70 on the aftermarket. Now it's pretty much what it costs.

Dangnabbit! Missed it. I really want one of these sets. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get a set for around $25 shipped?

I know I know I am breaking the law on the forum but I have one I would be willing to trade for CMFs. Yes...wrong thread but I know some people really want this set.

If you thought you were "breaking the law," then perhaps you shouldn't have actually done it, and instead made a Marketplace post instead.

A thread for one research institute? Wow you really have it out for me don't you. First on predictions thread and now this. Go away

^ @TheLoneTensor has a valid point with which I agree. You even happen to have an active Marketplace thread to trade for CMFs that would be the perfect place for this rather than hijacking a shopping thread.

We are very friendly. We just like to point people in the right direction so as not to clutter up a thread (like I am doing now). You aren't "breaking the law".

I know it was me being immature and joking around. I knew from the start I was messing up order of things, I just hoped nobody would call me out on it. Lol alright to get back on topic, why does the RI go out so quickly? Not much is going on for it.

If I wake up tomorrow and this thread has 70+ new comments someone had better be banned! ;)

I'm not sure why the desire for this set. I bought one in December when Shop at Home brought it back for a few days. My daughter built it and tossed it aside. There isn't anything special about it. The dinosaur is neat, but nothing you can't really do on your own. My daughter liked the chemistry lab, but she has most of those pieces already too. I bought her a telescope to look at stars and she seemed interested in it a little, but didn't care for the astronomy LEGO portion...

I realize my kid isn't the voice for everyone, but I wasn't that impressed with it. Kudos to the designer for giving people what they want, even though it seems pointless.

I think it's more the fact that it was girls and shows girls in positions of importance which can be neglected oftentimes.  The set is itself is not bad but certainly not groundbreaking either, this is for AFOL's and people who want to show their kids that girls can be cool too.

^ Because of that reason, it made the mainstream press when it was released, and the ensuing shortage also was well-publicized:

^ Looked out of curiosity, and it won't let me add it to my cart even thought it shows Amazon having it with the shipping delay...

^That's odd I had no problem and received an order confirmation, and I can still add another to my cart. Maybe clear your cookies or try a different browser?

Edit: spoke to soon, it was just removed and now says 'Available March 6'. Haven't had a cancellation for my earlier order though.

It was out of stock earlier, but it looks like it's available again... for now
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,759
^-Wow, but one has to wonder if the stocks coming in now are actually cancelled orders for those trying to order multiple times from Amazon?
