Lego 7787 Bat Tank Misb for sale

Hi Everyone :). I have a Misb Lego Bat Tank for sale. It's currently listed on Ebay as well. This set has not been tough to sell, but there is a little drama attached to it. The problem is I have kids under the age of 13 whom play around on Ebay. In some cases it's adults too. People offer me terribly low offers, in hopes of reselling this set. The kids whom contact me, pretend to be adults, then will say they are going to pay for the Item, and never do. I have to stop work to deal with Ebay, and it waste my time. I'm a collector, and not an online Vendor. The set is priced high on Ebay due to fees. But I'm asking $370.00 for the set. Plus $14.00 for shipping in the U.s., shipping may cost more outside the U.s.. I will post detailed pics of the box for serious buyers. I would possibly consider some fair offers. I sell this stuff to survive, and pay my rent so I have to get a certain amount. Also I have a family to take care of. I've been selling on Ebay off, and on for 6 years, and I'm easy to deal with. I don't mind taking time out for serious buyers at all. I have 100% feedback on Ebay. I feel my price for this Bat Tank is very fair, most the stores whom have this set charge $500.00. Not sure if I can post a link to my Ebay on here, I apologize if it's not. :)

Would you mind if we met up in person?  I'm just a couple hours away from you so I could save you the hassle of shipping, Amanda.
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
Hi :) how are you?  I would rather just ship the set to be honest. I think the gas cost would be more than the cost of shipping for both of us. If your interested in the set, I pack my items very well.

And why was I flagged? I thought it was ok to sell Legos on this forum?
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
^It could have been a mistake, but long winded posts tend to be frowned upon in the forum. No harm no foul except when you said "Legos" ;)

Sorry I'm not used to forums. This is one of the first I've joined :). I wasn't sure if I'd done something wrong by posting this.

You might also find what you call low ball is a reasonable offer. The average sold price for new sets on bricklink is rather lower than your valuation. Pricing something that doesn't sell often is difficult and buyers will use that sort of information to make their decision. If you want top dollar, you can often wait a long time to find the right buyer. Buyers don't care what fees you have to pay, they care what they have to pay.
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
No, sometimes low ball offers are low ball offers. You seem to be big into knowing what Buyers don't care about.  I get the prices I want 97% of the time so I don't complain :). I do take reasonable offers. The ones I refuse are insulting. Maybe sellers don't care what some site says something is worth. There are people whom sell this set for way more than I'm asking. Will they sell, I'm sure they won't. I don't ask for top dollar I just want fair value for my stuff, and if people don't like my prices there are other sellers who will cave for less. So I don't see why it's a big deal.

Somebody joins at 9:12 am and then posts an hour later this elaborate and hard to follow explanation of why 'he' doesn't want to sell an item on eBay that 'he' has an auction on already and that item is a high priced set seems quite fishy to me.

Then you you look at 'his' name and it is batdude3, but the eBay account has Amanda in the name seems a little more strange.

Ill come meet you, batdude3 with $400 in the location that the eBay auction specifies the item is at and buy the Bat Tank from you. That's more than your asking price, and don't worry about me paying too much for gas.

if you want to check my eBay rating, here is a random auction for you to look at

I never said I was female to begin with, clearly my screen says Batdude. I'm a dude!!  Me, and loved one share an Ebay is that illegal??????    Ok if you will meet me in my town, I'll be happy to  meet you. Fishy???? I posted above I would sell the set for $370.00. I have fees tapped in the price, and also best offer option. Secondly its MY set I'll sell if for what I want. You meet me in my town, I'll be glad to meet you, bring that $400. And put your money where your mouth is. Lots of people whom are married, or related share Ebay accounts. So what! I have 100% feedback and go out of my way to be a good seller. I'm not going to have someone whom is making something into a situation it's not. So you contact me when your in town, and I'll be happy to sell this set to you. Anything else???????? Get a life, if this is all you have to do. And in terms of the price.... it that price is too high go talk to people whom sell it for more! So if your being serious, sure meet me. I'll tell you where to meet me in a safe place, then I expect my money, then get out of my town. How about that? :)  And I joined this forum to SELL my stuff. Imagine that someone joins a forum that other people do the same thing sell on, and that's fishy. I'm being serious, if you are serious, I will meet you locally. Otherwise get a life if you aren't.

  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58

Seriously you want to pick this set up, drop me a message, contact me by phone, and I'll tell you where we can meet. Whose to say you aren't a criminal if you want to be technical who is out to rob me. So I could also point a finger at you.

  • BACbrixBACbrix Member Posts: 655
@batdude3 I would not make a deal with this person. Obviously has no life so they pick apart what you say. He is being a flat out not nice word so if I were you I would say shove the 400$ down their throat.
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
If this is one of those forums full of smart a$$es, and people with nothing to do but accuse people of bs whom try to make an honest living.  The moderators, I came here with good intentions, and Im not going to take crap from anyone here. If I'm causing some kind of problem, then DELETE me!  But I'll be damned if someone is going to call me a fishy theif because I sell on a relatives Ebay account. If your interested in this set, simply contact me, I'm a polite person when I dont' have some bored guy calling me a thief.
  • BACbrixBACbrix Member Posts: 655
Flag the person back. They did to you. Trust me there are lots jerks. Do not delete the account. Fight the ones who are mean back. You deserve respect and not have to deal with people like this. Lego is a fun hobby that some people get spiteful over because.... well I don't know.
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
Yes and he's angered me. I had no idea  I get called a theif my first day. This is one of the first forums I've ever joined. I think it's "weird and fishy" he doesn't want to pay shipping, or just make an offer on the actual Ebay listing. I'd love to see him put his money where his mouth is. And if he does buy it, I'll pack it up nicely and ship it to him. And he can shove a Bat Tank down his throat instead.
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
Thank you for the kind words BACbrix :).

It is primarily a collectors site not a sales site. It is a bit frowned upon when you join for the sole reason of selling. Especially when you are advertising having several UCS Millennium Falcons for sale.

Goodness gracious everyone is getting into quite a kerfuffle over something that should be next to a non-issue. Lets all take a step back here, put away the torches and pitchforks, build some LEGO, and then come back to resolve the issue. Posting on a forum when you're all heated up won't help your case... and certainly telling someone to "shove a Bat Tank down his throat" or "shove $400 down your throat" is not acceptable behavior. Come on now.

That being said, @batdude3 you're more than welcome to post items for sale. I do it all the time. Since it's your first day on the forums it's understandable that some people would be cautious. Unfortunately, we've had our fair share of scammers that come onto the forums, list a bunch of stuff in one day, receive payments, and then leave. I'm not saying you're that at all, it's just what has happened before... thus we've learned to be careful.

If you want to help your case, and I'm sure you do actually have the set, take a few more pictures of it. It would be extra helpful if you also included a slip with your name (batdude3) written on it in the pictures. Just so people know for sure that you do have it in your possession.

All that being said, best of luck with your sale.

@CCC look I dont' know you, you dont' know me. But don't address me anymore. I don't care what you think, before I joined I noticed others offer their stuff for sale, make sure you give them a good scolding, and going over too. Is there anything that is frowned on? While your at it Oh Grand Wizard of all things Lego??????  I'm trying to be a nice guy here. I didn't come here with any bad intentions.

Yes, other members of the site sell and trade. Most act like members though, before mentioning their several UCS MF for sale.

@samiam391 I know but it is not fair that someone can be so negative that it deters someone from this forum. I mean we are all supposed to be friendly but to be called a thief the first day, I certainly understand @batdude3 being upset. Yes, stating empty threats is immature and I apologize, and all I want these guys to do is make a deal and be happier because come on, Lego is awesome and that is why we all are here. So yes next time less silly statements and more professional attitudes that benefit the forum.
I am sorry for my words

Hi Samiam391, nice to meet you. :) I didn't start it. But fully agree with you. Sorry I didn't think it was such a big deal to post I have some of the most desired Lego stuff ever. I didn't say the Falcons I had it ready for sale yet, and asked if anyone was interested in these sets I have, I have sets from the mid 80's to early 90's, and as stated this is my last sealed Batman set. I stated above, and in my Ebay listing I'm more than happy to post detailed pics of this set. Noone has asked. Thanks for being nice. :) I promise after this I will NEVER post on this forum again. I'm 36 years old I'm not a kid, I bought everything I own years ago. Including this set.

  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
@CCC I also mentioned my Batman sets :O  Who would have thought people actually bought these sets when they were still very affordable :). And I told you don't address me again.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
@BACbrix - I've called someone a thief on their first day before, and I was right. They were a thief. I'm glad I called them out, otherwise they may have sold their "item" to someone and made off with $400 (or more depending on how many times they sold "it"). In that case, they were trying to sell their Mr. Gold and there were numerous little red flags.

Yes, you need to be careful with your accusations... I don't go out and call everyone a "thief"... but batdude3's attitude on the forums thus far has done anything but build my confidence in him. Hopefully, batdude3 can sympathize and understand with the concern. Most people with multiple UCS Millennium Falcons who try to sell them their first day being on a forum are indeed scammers. I know he doesn't have them listed now, but he did mention in his introduction that they were going to be listed. Yes, it has happened before. So we have to be careful.

Again, I'm not calling batdude3 a scammer at all, as I'm sure he knows, I'm just being cautious. Which in the case of $400 (or any sum of money for that matter), you have to be cautious.

There's a pretty easy way to resolve most of the doubt... and that's if batdude003 is willing to take a few pictures of his items that he has for sale. That would be greatly appreciated and I'm sure he'd find he would have a lot more interest in his items if he did so. It seems that he is willing to do so... @batdude3 the sooner you post those images probably the better

And @ my Falcons, I never list anything without going over it first to make sure it has all it's parts, and I wouldn't list anything without a photo having proof. When those sets are ready I will post pics. I guess I'll be a thief when I post those too huh????????????????????????????????????????  My first day here, and already with exception of you nice people, this place isn't nothing like I thought it would be.

Assuming this is in response to my post:

You're being much to sensitive. It might be time to step away from the keyboard because you're obviously reading my or even CCC's words with the wrong tone.

I'm not calling you a thief. I'm asking for pictures of your batman set. And when you LIST your other sets, it'd be great to have pictures of those too.

I always like to go through my sets too, and make sure their 100% complete before I list them. Take your time to go over them, no problem with that.

Tell you what? :) How about I post some pics of my bat tank, and some people can shut up.  I get it people have been scammed here before. If it's this big of deal, I'll post pics of the set no problem. All people have to do is have ask. Want me to post pics of the set????????? My attitude?????? I was a nice guy til I was accused of being a thief. Now I dont' CARE WHAT ANYONE HERE THINKS ABOUT ME :). And when you call someone a theif who isn't you can expected your going to get blasted back as well. I don't know you, you don't know me. And other than mentioning, and listing this set on here which is on an Ebay with 100% feedback, I haven't done anything to cause distrust. I'm sorry people have been scammed, but as I said before NOT EVERYONE is dishonest. So if an "interested buyer' ask.  I'll post pics, I can take pics of this set anytime because I OWN IT!!!!!!!!!     You people whom have been scammed, I didn't scam you!
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
Not that wasn't in response to you Sam. And being sensitive, what if I walked into your workplace, and called you a theif. You wouldn't like it either. I realize your NOT calling me a theif.
  • BACbrixBACbrix Member Posts: 655
I agree. Innocent until proven guilty. People are too quick to judge.
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
And when I post these pics you people trying to make me into a scammer leave me alone do you understand. Otherwise I'm about to lose it, and I'm a very patient person! Give me about 15 mins and pics will be posted.
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
and if you think I have an "attitude" you haven't seen anything. But I promise people keep it up with the BS. I'll SHOW you attitude. I'll have those pics taken in a few mins. Serious buyer if your interested I'm very easy to deal with. I'm only a jerk to people whom deserve it such as people whom call me a thief :). Secondly I Have a right to some privacy, I have two other jobs and work with guys who worked with some of the biggest rock stars of the day. I HAVE MONEY AND DON"T HAVE TO STEAL IT BECAUSE I MAKE ENOUGH OF IT!
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58

Here you go! Pics of all sides of the box.  Now do not EVER call me a thief again! >:(  Now I have provided proof! Now prove to me there are some real Humans here.

Still think I'm a scammer??????????????????  How about you Guy who wants to drive to my town. You don't want to meet me in person trust me, I wouldn't be at all nice to you! Wheres your $400 still haven't seen you put your money where your mouth is!

  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
You interested in this set too sam or you just trying to be the community boy scout out for possible scammers simply because you were scammed?????????
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
The next time someone tries to accuse me of scamming, be prepared to get flamed. I'm sorry people have been scammed. But how &*$**$*#(#(***** dare you accuse me of being a thief. I HAVE KIDS TO TAKE CARE OF AND MAKE AN HONEST LIVING!!!!  And this forum is nothing like I thought it would be. @ the mods so its' ok your members can just accuse anyone of scamming??? I provided proof my item exist in photos. I came here to be nice, and HONEST person! This is my first day, and I gotta say I don't like this forum as much as I Thought. So if no one is interested in this set. JUST TELL ME I'll leave and sell on eBay from now on so I don't have to deal with this crap! And if I'm causing a problem by coming onto a forum where other people do the same thing I'm attempting to do, then delete me I don't care. I came here cause the forum seemed nice, didn't know I'd have goons coming after. and some people on here need to get a life. The reason you accuse  people is possibly your Scammers yourselves. You think I care how well known you are on forum. people  whom are members here could possibly steal my set as well and take my money, I've not been given any reason to trust anyone either. I haven't pointed a single finger at anyone and accused anyone of anything though have I?
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
Well I posted pics where are you "Concerned" members now? Where are you Boy Scouts. No
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
At sam I could care less if you thought someone was a scammer once, and you were right. Doesn't mean I am. So here are the pics. Remember "the sooner I post them the better" like i'm obligated to prove ANYTHING to you.

Let me accuse you of "possibly" scamming. and see how you react :)

If you had any of hope of selling your set I'm pretty sure your incredible overreaction there just cost it... phew.  I'd suggest you take the night off from the forum and come back tomorrow after you've had the chance to calm down.

Hopefully with more restraint than yourself. I don't believe in selling Lego though so you may be waiting a while to be able to accuse me.
  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58

Oh ok so people are suppose to just take others crap?  And I don't care, I wish i'd never signed up here! My overreaction, I have NEVER had problems in my life selling Legos until today. That is the truth. Sell all the time with no problem. And if by defending myself I blew my chance. I DO NOT CARE. Had I gotten respect any person deserves I Wouldn't be flipping out.

  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58

Sorry Rails I don't understand the part "you may be waiting  a while to be able to accuse me. You're cool.  I'm not out for anyone. And I didnt' start accussing anyone of anything.

  • batdude3batdude3 Member Posts: 58
How about this Sam, I came here with intentions of selling this set, If I don't sell it through this site, I still have Ebay. How about don't address me anymore. And I won't address you. You're not even interested in the set so why did you pop up to begin with? Because you saw it as an opportunity to possibly accuse a possibly scammer. And I'm usually a nice guy when I've not been pushed!
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
    Have it your way
