A New Addition to the Female Fans of LEGO

EluneElune Member Posts: 99
...because FFOLs sounds too much like "folles" in my French-Canadian mind. :D

So, like many others I liked LEGOs as a child though I did not own a hundred pieces in total (3 mini sets that I own). I got to play with my sisters' too though - except the fortress (6081) which I could barely touch it - and my friend's who had awesome Pirates and Castle sets (and female minifigures! How I loved them!).

I am now 27 and the mother of an adorable 18 month old girl. I really started collecting LEGOs a few months ago, when we bought a house, in which we will move this summer and in which I will have plenty of space to put my sets or MOCs on display. I already know where my Black Seas Barracuda is going to be. I now own a few dozen sets. I have a rough idea of eventually making a LEGO photostory (if you are making one or reading one online, please feel free to share it with me). :p

I love everything Castle, Pirates, Western, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Ring/Hobbit, Lone Ranger, some Creator sets, and basically every thing with animals, fauna and not much technology. I love the Elves brand too, though I would have preferred "regular" minifigures. I also like most modular buildings.

That's pretty much it! See you around!

Welcome to the forum from another Canadian member! ;)

I've always been a fan of classic Lego, especially space and pirates.

Bumblepants: Thank you and by the way, I love your avatar.

Bobabricks: We used to have some small spaceships, but I was not a huge fan. I do like Star Wars though - I plan on getting the Ewok village, which would go well with the rest of my collection.

Welcome to the forum Elune. I'm curious, what's a LEGO photostory? Is it a series of LEGO vignettes depicting a story?
  • EluneElune Member Posts: 99
Chuckp: It's like a comic book, really - except you replace the drawings with pictures. Here is an example: http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=22693
Photostories are very popular in one of my other hobby (ball-jointed dolls) and I like making them. So I want to see what I can do with LEGOs.

^ Ah, very cool. If you do make a LEGO photostory, I hope you'll post a link. I'm sure we'd all be interested in seeing how it turns out.

Hi Elune, we seem to have the same taste in themes, although I do like space sets with technology to! Welcome to the forum and look forward to see some of you art!

@Andor The best thing is that my one and only godchild is a fellow Castle fan.

@TarDomo I can't wait to see what Disney has made with SW.

@snowhitie Well, I was brought up on a farm by nature-loving parents so I guess it's only natural that I would love nature. I can appreciate beautiful City and Space sets in other people's collections, but I don't feel the need to have any in mine. Except the Ewok village because "tree dewllings".

@Elune Yeah, it´s gonna be interesting. Exited and terrified at the same time.

I hope I´ll make it to the premiere here in Finland.
