    #76023, really?

Here's a summary of what I saw yesterday (YMWDV - your mileage will definitely vary, as always). This is at a southern Indiana Target:

For some reason a handful of 2015 sets were already being clearanced. I got the pooping parrot Creator set #31031 for $10 ($15). Some 2015 Chima stuff was also on varying discount. What was funny to me is that the Sabertooth Tribe Pack #70232 was marked down to $7 ($10) and the Lion Tribe Pack #70229 was marked down to $5 ($10). Ooook. I also noticed #70222 for $15 ($30).

I picked up X-men/Sentinel #76022 for $35 ($50). Also noticed a few random sets at their smallest tier of discount, perhaps 10-15% off that I didn't bother with.

#76022 not #76023. Sorry for the typo. And this target was in north orlando fl.

Are these prices reflected online as well? Targets website isn't loading up properly for me and the sets I manually search for are normal priced. It's too cold to drive for nothing today so I'm trying to hold off on going out.

Must be a local discount, didn't see these online

The only thing that reflects is the Turtle Sub. Which is one that I want. :)

Other items look to be only $5 off online.

Should be putting YMMV (your mileage may vary) for these types of posts. I know, I know,... people should know, but not always. No sense in getting hopes up for those who may be new to how Target, Meijer, Walmart, and all of these other retailers work where some put stuff on sale/clearance all the time and yet other stores seem to never mark anything down.

One target here had no discounts, and another one had about 20 Joke Steamrollers at $35, Benny's Spaceship and Police Dropshop for 30% off, and the Xmen sentinel was only 15% off.

That's not bad, but I had the kids with me and couldn't justify those sets even at those discounts right now. If they make it to 50% off, I might be in trouble.

Has anyone else noticed round security sticker tags being placed on some of the LEGO boxes at Target? I was at a local Target in Arizona last Saturday and noticed it. Immediately turned me off to buying one.

The two Targets in Glen Burnie MD had pretty much the same clearance deals already mentioned, plus #79016 Attack on Lake-town (15%) and #79015 Witch-King Battle (15%). I also saw a #8071 Bucket Truck in a beat up box for $35.

My central Ohio Target had all of the deals already mentioned as well as 50% off on the following:

    #31031 Rainforest Animals
    #70221 Chima Flinxs Ultimate Phoenix
    #70222 Chima Shadow Blazer

I was really happy to find the Creator Rainforest Animals for $7.48. I bought a few of them and left everything else. The XMen Blackbird set was only 15% off at my store or I would have purchased it as well.

Last month I received a "new" set from amazon with a round target security sticker on the front of it. Seals looked like they were tampered with, too, so back it went.

I couldn't help myself. I just had to pick up Benny's Spaceship! today.

Same here, grabbed the last one. I wouldn't have had any idea about the sale if not for this thread, so many thanks to @norm103 for inadvertently making my day :)

Thanks for the info just pick up Onua at my local store, they didn't have gali though. They did have Battle for ninjago city marked down 30% so I might go back there but I also recently got the Ender Dragon and the Wookiee gunship marked down 15% a week ago so those were nice.

What's the deal with the sticker tag? Does it identify a returned set?

  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 837
I've seen it on a few of the same sets also. It wasn't even the most expensive sets in the store ($49.99). I just was assuming it was a security sticker that Target was maybe gonna use on all it's Legos.

They look like security stickers that set off the alarm up front if someone is shop lifting or act as a deterrent.
They had a different tipe a few years back that were white squares.
  • 12651265 Member Posts: 1,156
I did buy four sets with one having the sticker. I did set off the alarm while exiting. I stepped back and waited 5 seconds and passed through without setting off the alarm. The stickers on the sets seem random. Not all of the same set had one.
  • lordzaraklordzarak Member Posts: 329
I bought a few of the 30% off sets last night. I think the Agents sets might make it to 50% off so I held off on those. But I'm glad I finally got a Benny's Spaceship, and for only $70.

^Yeah I agree. I got the X-Men I wanted and an Infearno Interceptor because I would hate to miss that one. But There were so many of most sets I think I can hold out for 50% and not miss anything

Thanks for the "out of the usual clearance season" tipper. Found some Joker steam rollers for $35.00.

Went to my local Target today (Wilson Yard Chicago) and was able to get the X-men and Dropship at sale price. They also had 76013 at $57.99 RRP @ 30% off for $40.58 and 60044 at $52.99 RRP @ 15% off for $45.04. So be sure to check to make sure they haven't been marked up before put on sale. (They also had benny's space ship at $120) don't know if this is happening at all Targets or just some.
  • knooseknoose Member Posts: 45
Benny's spaceship wasn't discounted at mine but 70815: Super Secret Police Dropship was on sale for $54? $50 something at least.
  • 77ncaachamps77ncaachamps Member Posts: 2,442
    Dropship was 30% off.

Amazing discounts considering what Lego SH is selling them for.

These might be surplus from the Canadian Targets...

I got the Steam Roller today for $34.98 +tax at the 2nd Target I went to. The 1st had the original price at $55 and then put it on sale. Not fooling this guy Target, I don't mind the drive. My friend paid for gas anyways!
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
Yep we nailed steam roller for $34, spiderman helicopter for $30 super police dropship for $55
X men sentinel for $34. And I had 3 avengers hydra battle sets 76030 in my hands and they would not sell them to me. Said i had to come back March 1.

SO far only see the steam Roller for 34.98 the rest seems to be not on sales yet, I checked one target in Hayward, CA

They had turtles and ultra agents on sale too here in Idaho
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 837
^ Same in Iowa. Turtles, Ultra Agents, Ninjago XCharger and Super Heroes. I was curious about the Steam Rollers myself..because I bought the last one at this same Target in the fall for $34.98 and the inventory checker said there was now over 20. So I had my doubts...sure enough....20+ on the shelves and 10 on an endcap. The encap said "clearance 50% or more" but was priced at only 30% off, so I grabbed an employee and he agreed it was confusing and let me have them for $24.98 each. Another reason why I prefer Target.

  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 837
I only bought 4. Half way home I regretting not buying a couple more. But the day before I was out of town for work and found 2 at a Walmart...but they were dented boxes. I figured I could always take those back to a local WM.

The target by me did actually have sale sets, likely because all were 'retailed' over RRP. So any discount was laughable. I thought that is also against the law to do as these sets were likely real RRP before their 'clearance' prices were applied
  • matticus_bricksmatticus_bricks Member Posts: 651
My target had X-Men sets at only 15%, and they didn't have any Benny's Spaceships or Super Secret Police Dropships. I was able to get a Joker Steamroller for $35 though, which was nice. The best thing that happened though is that they still had a few series 12 Minifigs on the shelf at the clearance price of $1.99 each, and the Series 13 Minifigs also rang up for the same price! So I got a great deal on some S13.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
My closest Target had the steam rollers at $42.xx but had probably 30 of them. They were on a back end cap near the crappier toys. I'm just going to keep an eye on them and see if they go down.

I hit two Targets in Madison and found nothing better than 15%. Thankfully, some friends had better luck on xmen and steamrollers. Happy to finally be picking those up. Even at $30, the spider copter does not interest me.

Wrong thread, but a LUGmate checking a Milwaukee Wal-Mart found 5x museum breakins for $21 each. Draft time!
  • RonyarRonyar Member Posts: 373
Tons of the steam roller for $35 at the Target I went to. Looks like they just didn't sell at full price. Wonder if they'll drop even further, or if people will snap them up at 30% off. Nothing different on sale than what others have mentioned above.

I know I am feeling sick that I couldnt get that deal lol. Also had some Mos Eisley Cantinas 30$ each and they had 2 so I got both. This Target has limited stock on Legos but what they do get usually never sell so they mark them down rediculously. Literally my neighborhood is on average age 58 and up so AFOLs havent found this hidden oasis yet.

What's the deal with all the Steam Rollers? Near me at my two Targets they've been off the shelves since last fall. Now there's 20-40 at Targets? I've even used that Target inventory checker on Brickseek and just about every Target in Iowa has that many.

Two different Targets had the Steam Roller priced $42 & $35 as clearance.I ended up coming home w/a #70815 Super Secret Police Dropship - $55.98 since I think it'll be hard for me to find one for less.I scanned it in store & it said none in stockroom.
TRU has it marked up to 89.99 on their website.
