Has anyone heard anything about when the Ideas Big Bang Theory set might be released or at least a picture of it?
Thanks

There have been no updates at all. I was expecting to hear something with the latest announcement, and while in the video it was hinted on briefly as an approved project, nothing else was said about it. Maybe they are still negotiating the license? I just checked Alatariel's blog and she didn't respond to questions if she knows anything herself...

I wouldn't have thought they'd announce it as a winner if they were negotiating the licence. It might be taking a lot of time to both develop it into a good price point based set and get various approvals from the IP holder - i.e minifigure designs etc.

There's probably a lot of things to negotiate, as the décor of the flat (that I assume the set will feature) and Sheldon's signature outfits heavily feature DC/Marvel/Star Wars content - a license within a license, if you like.

Even without that, there's still all the usual design stuff, like Shib said.

^That's pretty much it. While TLG has acquired the license to the show itself, there are other details within the submission that have to be worked out. For instance, the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots won't be featured since that's the property of another toy company. The release date isn't until the second half of the year, so an official reveal might wait as long as, say, SDCC.

To be honest, there aren't that many licensed themes on the shelves in Sheldon and Leonard's apartment. Each season they add or subtract things. I think there is a 12" Luke in a Stormtrooper outfit and the Human Torch toward the left of the apartment and some DC Superheroes on the right above the window. They change the poster on the closet door from time to time. The Sheldon minifigure can just wear his "Theory 73" t-shirt to avoid any licensing issues.

Anything DC related should be fine as they are all held by Warner Bros. (same as the show), Star Wars and such might be a little more difficult.

Thanks for confirming what I thought. It's still a big secret.
