Star Wars 2015 - Summer Wave

Lots of photos at FBTB. I like the shuttle a lot but the minifigures, outside of Chewbacca, are too detailed for me. I like the removable aspect of Vader's new helmet, but I'm not sure I like it more than the original.

So many good figs throughout the sets. The Endor team looks great, the new Vader neck guard/helmet looks nice but not so much his head print, great gifs for the Flashspeeder. But disappointed in the Advent figs this year.

C3PO looks very odd in his Santa suit....almost creepy.

The UCS TIE is quite similar with the 2012 TIE Fighter, a bit bigger of course. I´d personally preferred 500 pcs bigger one.

Those battle figures are interesting, hopefully a larger range coming, Boba, Stormie etc

    Thanks for the link!

I smell a movie tie in spoiler with that Luke battle figure! Dark side calling? On the whole, it looks like a pretty exciting line-up!

Is that a Fifty shade of grey luke fig with the handcuffs?

  • roxioroxio Member Posts: 1,384

I think that's the Return of the Jedi Version of Luke (the constraction figure). Blonde hair gives it away.

I am a fan of several of these sets! Might be the first Star Wars wave I've had more than average interest in. Really like the Imperial Shuttle.

  • I'm up in the air about Final Duel - aside from the windows, I've basically got that scene already in the relevant room of the epic #10188 Death Star. Sans-helmet Vader is something new (from those photos the 'collar' looks better than the ungainly piece from #7672 Rogue Shadow)... it may be a pass nonetheless. But the Flash Speeder, Tydirium (thin wings at last), the Assault Carrier: sold, sold, sold.

I'm definitly sold on the Shuttle, the figures are a little over printed but overall I think they look good. As a person who missed out on the UCS shuttle this is a must for me. It definitly has the same ascetic as the UCS if not the size. With the final duel I'm with Miss Kitty. I love my Death Star and I feel that minus the windows the secne that is represented there is very good. Not totally sure on the new Darth but I'll get used to it. Flash Speeder and the Imperial Assault Craft both look good but I'm not really interested. I'm a little diapointed with Lego releasing another Naboo Star Fighter especially since it is extremly similar to the last one released. Other than that I am happy with the sets
  • B_HollsB_Holls Member Posts: 41
I'm indifferent on the Tie Fighter. But there is something about it that I do like about it, I'm not sure why though. In all likeliness I won't buy it though
  • bobabricksbobabricks Member Posts: 1,842
The imperial shuttle and final duel sets are definite buys as I'm a huge imperial fan, another Naboo fighter is a little depressing as we got one in 2011 that looks exactly like this one. The UCS tie fighter was a mediocre surprise as it looks just like the 2012 one but just a bit bigger and on a stand. I'm going to go on a limb and say that the tie pilot ("commander") is going to be in ep 7.

Think I am the same as most here, Imperial Shuttle is a big yes from me, I do own the 7166-1 but that Shuttle looks very dated now and the UCS one is currently way out of my price range. Final Duel set seems to be ok, but nothing really we have not seen before in the Death Star, guess it is aimed at people that do not own the Death Star. Figures look good and can see myself ending up with it anyway.
I was really hoping for more with the UCS Tie Fighter, suppose we have been spoilt with the Sandcrawler and Slave 1, but I think I will save my £200 for other sets.

I do really like the Imperial Assault Carrier from the Rebels line, the SW Rebels brand has been slowly pulling me in like a tractor beam, was strictly OT SW before, but the Rebels sets and figures are growing on me. The IAC looks great, and really nice figure line up including Sabine with the Mandalorian helmet everyone has been waiting for. Think this and the Shuttle will be top of my purchase list :)

The Return of the Jedi sets are stupendous. Long before the Death Star playset, my Final Duel I and II perfectly encapsulated the climatic scene from the end of the movie. Nevertheless, this throne room is above and beyond awesome, so it will be a must-buy with the shuttle Tydirium. BUT, why does the new Darth Vader minifigure have eyebrows? That stuff burned off in Revenge of the Sith! Or is Disney undoing the work of the DVD release and Special Editions? Between this and Anakin's non-mechanical hand from the Azure Angel set, 2015 is looking to be a banner year for errata in Star Wars sets.

I keep telling myself I'm going to stop buying Legos. Then I keep getting pulled back by cool sets like this lol x). I've been wanting the newest Darth Vader minifigure.

This seems to be an ep.1 theme year: AAT, Battle Droid Troop Carrier, Flash Speeder, Naboo Starfighter... TLG give us now the Trade Federation Droid Control Ship, as an UCS, of course. And Boss Nass.

  • Kevin_HyattKevin_Hyatt Member Posts: 778
Looks like the shuttle is going out of stock day one from all the interest I see!
  • DrmnezDrmnez Member Posts: 855
All I am interested in currently from the upcoming sets is UCS TIE fighter, new Vader mf, Admiral Yularen, the advent calender r2d2 and c3po, and MAYBE the battle figures.

I cut down my interest in SW sets because there are just too many. Hopefully after infinity wars 2 TLG stops with the SH line so I dont have to do the same with that theme as well.

I'm still trying to hang in there with SW but it is admittedly tough to keep up with. I haven't picked up any 2015 sets or figs yet. While I'm up to date and complete for SH, which is still narrow enough to do easily. These 2 lines are heavy and forcing me to pare off most other themes.

Totally ep 1, except y'know for the UCS TIE Fighter, Death Star Final Duel, Imperial Assault Carrier, Shuttle Tyderium, Luke Figure, Vader Figure, Geonosis Troopers, Ezra's Speeder Bike, Slave I, TIE advanced, T16 Skyhopper, Shadow Troopers, Imperial Troop Transport, AT-DP, Wookiee Gunship, microfighters, polys and maybe a few more than that :)
  • TarDomoTarDomo Member Posts: 515
@TheLoneTensor I meant what comes to the movies and normal sets. So Rebels excluded, UCS Tie fighter Excluded and polybags excluded and action figures excluded. so by this count there are a lot of ep.1 sets.
  • TarDomoTarDomo Member Posts: 515
and UCS Slave 1 excluded. but how did you even bother to write all these set names?
  • DrmnezDrmnez Member Posts: 855
@BrickDancer I feel your pain. Having a complete super heroes mf line up is tough. Esp those darn exclusives. It starts to take a toll on the soul/wallet after sometime.

I think ultimately I am going to narrow things down to certain mf from ninjago, cmf and SW, Try to keep up with SH, and only get UCS sets.

I didn't see any such qualifications in your post.  Even so, 4 sets does not "a lot" make.

Really love what I see.  The Imperial Shuttle is a great substitute for those that missed the UCS!!  The Tie UCS is a definite buy for me and I was happily surprised with the  Imperial Assault carrier.

Is it?  You made a point that it was the year of ep 1, and I had a counterpoint that it was most certainly not the year of ep 1.  Normally when presenting a counterpoint, one presents data to support their stance, which is what I did.

As for the bored part, I honestly was kidding, because it took me all of one click from the main Brickset page and 5 minutes of compiling to make that list, so it really wasn't a bother at all.
  • TarDomoTarDomo Member Posts: 515
My last comment was kinda joking: to ep.1 haters 4 sets is much and 4 sets is more than from other episodes what comes to normal sets. Anyway this is getting a bit sidetracked and I won´t continue debating about this, I do have other life than writing responses to others random comments. So, take some bricks and build a MOC and have a fun day. bye.

Honestly, I'm glad he did.  I'm not up to my studies in memorizing set numbers like the rest of you and clicking on the generated links for the set numbers to find out what everyone's talking about gets old quick.

Imperial shuttle and assault carrier are a must for me. Like the final dual set but feel like I already have it in the Death Star. Maybe consider the Naboo fighter too

I wonder when we'll start to see Ep. VII sets?

In new news, announcement for dates of Ep. VIII in May 2017 and the spin-off movie due Dec 2016 titled "Rogue One".

Rogue Squadron... YES!    I wonder where the VIII sets are being produced?  I wonder if they won't be produced in China due to the number of leaks?  Or perhaps it's a mass produce at the last second type of deal... not sure.  I'm sure they'll want them on the shelves in time for the release, but who knows..

They're being built in the new plant on Tatooine.
  • Anyone knows if the Imperial Shuttle Tydirium opens in the back for passengers/cargo? Pictures?

The sides open just below the dorsal fin. I'm not sure if there's room for passengers but it appears some cargo boxes can be stored there. See the video here.

FYI, it has been announced Star Wars VII merchandise will hit the streets on Sept. 4th- so called "Force Friday".  http://www.starwars7news.com/2015/05/star-wars-the-force-awakens-merchandise-to-hit-shelves-on-september-4.html

Will this include the LEGO sets?

  • MODVLEXMODVLEX Member Posts: 24
Does that include those six constraction figures based on extant material? I remember hearing they were due for an August release initially but then hearing that amended to September.
