awesome. shame it's more blue-y than green-y. thought there'd be more of a camouflage theme!

Not too sure on these. Don't really excite me much. Looking forward to Scooby Doo more than this.

Typical, big car, small car, helicopter, base, throw a dinosaur in each set. Way to trash a theme that had a lot of potential. There's not even a bloody leaf in those sets.

It's blue instead of yellow, but otherwise looks pretty similar to the last Dino series.

Nary a leaf, nor jungle bathroom. Won't the new movie will reprise the classic dino-eats-guy-on-potty scene?

Only sets iam looking forward to are the Jeep and the base the other three look so basic by today's standards

Got to agree, this would have been a theme ripe for leafy techniques like we saw with Ewok village. I don't mind the smaller sets but the big ones are a missed opportunity IMO. Still think this will be a fun theme to moc and the game sounds promising.

Only other disappointment is that there just aren't more Dino types. No triceratops? boo.

We had a triceratops last theme. I'm waiting for a new stegosaurus.

I don't get why the main character is only in one set... I can't tell a lie though, those ball cars look fun! ;)

  • Not bad looking sets as such - if the movie is good (hey, you never know) I can see them doing well on the tide of general enthusiasm, although if it's so-so I can equally imagine these winding up shelf-warmers in stores for a while. I'll probably just have the Raptor set though - I like the vet truck, there's a female minifigure (never enough), and that's my Lego Dr. Dinosaur right there.

@MissKittyFantastico This is one reason why I like to buy themed sets after I've seen the movie because if the movie is bad then I regret buying the sets.

I also just noticed the blue crow bars on the Jeep, that's a nice touch.

Not fond of this line at all. I was hoping atleast one tree. The set looks exactly like the dino theme last year except not yellow. The thing that strikes me the most is how come the star is only in one set.

I hope the Indominus Rex is spliced with chameleon DNA and can change color to match it's environment. I just mostly want the dinosaurs. The models go in the parts heap...

  • bobabricksbobabricks Member Posts: 1,842
@legopassion8 You could save a pile of money by just going the BrickLink route and purchasing just the dinosaurs.

I think that having The Lone Ranger and Tonto in pretty much every set hurt TLR's Lego run. Yes, other factors were at play, but as we have seen time and time again, set value, be it in the eyes of a kid, collector or a reseller, is greatly dependent on the minifigs. Maybe this time they are trying something different. After all, the new movie could bomb like TLR did.

Kind of disappointing. The dinos look good but these seem mainly to be unimaginative rehashes of sets from the last Dino theme. At least that one had a better color scheme and some jungle elements - these are just kind of there.

Oh, and only one dinosaur in the main set for the theme? Big disappointment.

I too feel like this theme has wasted opportunity. If I get any it will only be The Raptor Rampage. Who wouldn't want another Chris Pratt minifigure. The truck and the raptors are rather cool looking as well. Thankfully for myself, but maybe not for Jurassic Park. This theme has almost zero appeal for me. Now I can breath a sigh of relief. To many other upcoming sets and themes I am interested in.

    simply said: nice, not great.
Most likely I´m not going to buy any of these, I have so many sets this year I´m more interested in (most of the SW line, Jokerland, maybe speed champions).

While you are gearing up for JW, this Jurassic Park in Lego is worth 3 minutes of your time.

Having the albino dino in the base set looks awful. That animal has no place in my Lego universe. I appreciated the last Dino theme at least they could be used as museum props or time travel, but that wierd evil white Dino is alien. At least there is a more natural look T Rex in another set.

I like the new motorcycle colors.

That's a fair statement, but Jurassic World/Park is not natural history, but rather the natural augmented with the fantastic (and some frog DNA).  The albino dino is supposed to be "alien," as per the movie it's in.  Given that its cobbled together with selective genetic splicing, it's certainly not supposed to be historically accurate.

I think the movie looks good and that lego short was pretty funny too.  However I am not impressed with the actual sets, they seem so generic and basic, none of them stand out to me.

After seeing the trailer for the video game, I really hope they make a few sets based on the first movie.

Funny...the main character for Jurassic Park is played by the same main character for Guardians of the Galaxy, and they both appear to have the same hair and head. Now that guy knows exact;u what his head looks like as a Lego.

We'll see if the pattern holds up for Indy.

Will be interesting to see how new Indy sets will compare with the old ones.  I totally missed out on those and may have a 2nd chance now to get some!  I will DEFINITELY play with those!
