Any idea why series 2 of lego masters isn't on all4? The only series I can find is last years.

Funny enough, a giraffe suit guy was in the first series of this Eurobricks ideas thread.

^ Never been on Eurobricks before. That’s an interesting thread and clearly some of the OPs ideas have filtered through- like the ducky swim ring. Could be a whole new habit - collecting hypothetical CMFs.

Would make great series along with the Elephant suit guy from the 40th series.

We watched it this evening and really enjoyed it. The mega modular was an interesting idea. As Matthew mentioned the highest level team could have added a roof to it all but I guess that would be almost as big as the actual floor!

Episode 7 of A Million Little Things had a little boy, about 7 years old, building the new Taj Mahal with "not one iota of help" from his dad.

LEGO Masters will also get a US version according to the press release The Brick Show posted here. No dates/where it will air/etc available yet.

Something else interesting in that press release: there's already an Australian version in the making. Some googling revealed casting was done in August, with filming completing in December. Couldn't find a date when it will air, beyond "sometime in 2019" on Channel Nine. Ryan McNaught, Australia's LCP, will judge the contestants' creations.

Radio rather than TV, this discussion mentioned BL and LEGO for about 10 minutes.

Talks about Super Heroes, but goes into LEGO about ~11.40 onwards.

Cisco announced forthcoming changes to their Certification Programs last week. In tonight's Certification Program Community Event on Cisco TV they described the redesigned program of certifications as modular LEGO blocks of building for your career.

Somewhere between 30 mins and 40 mins in of the 90 minute broadcast. (Available on replay.)

I was most impressed the words used were "LEGO blocks" and not legos. :o)
  • benbacardibenbacardi Member Posts: 712
^ Do you have a link to somewhere we can view that online?

It's a long time since I did my Cisco certifications... I'm sure this is the third or fourth time they've changed it since then!

    @benbacardi

They definitely said the broadcast "Cisco Certifications Community Event" would be available on replay in Cisco Learning Network and that they would answer every single question that was asked last night, broadcast started at 1pm (PDT). I can't find it though 😳. I thought I had but it doesn't seem to work. It just takes me back to the live broadcast window which obviously is not taking place now. There is such a myriad of resource on there. Maybe it's not up yet to view? I'll keep looking. If I find it I'll be sure to share.

I got an email invite to the broadcast a few days before, had to register interest with email address to login and watch it. Surprisingly though it didn't ask for a password to "login" and so I watched it quite easily.

On A Late Show With Stephen Colbert, aired 3/31/2020. Daniel Radcliffe shows off #75936 that he "helped" build while sheltering at home. Start around 8 minute mark in the linked clip.

I almost hate to bring this one up... but since it came across my radar...

At around a minute an a half into the new Eminem music video, LEGO makes a... unwelcome appearance.

Kinda makes me want to get that. It's always been off the edge of my radar as I'm not a big Technic fan but it really looks good with the olive green. My Pirate Bay needs to hurry up and ship before I get restless and order other stuff.

Capital FM in the UK also did an Instagram live build with Roman Kemp and Jade from Little Mix with the official Lego account watching yesterday. They both had a large plastic Classic box so parts were relatively limited but Roman made a special ‘wheelbarrow’ by the end haha

In Community Season 3 the chemistry professor, who's been in jail for 12 years, tell his class he has just one question.
"What happened with Legos? They used to be simple. Oh, come on, I know you know what I'm talking about. Legos were simple. Something happened I heard while I was inside. Harry Potter Legos, Star Wars Legos, complicated kits, tiny little blocks... I mean I'm not saying it's bad, I just wanna know what happened."

They hit so many troll notes with that one, I had to laugh.

Also season5, episode 1, about the engineer that designed a bridge that failed. They show his bridge design that got him his degree. A little LEGO bridge that collapses.

I watched the first Ep of Inside Legoland.  I doubt whether I'll be watching any more.  It might suit some people but I found the style fairly simplistic, the narrator's voice annoying and I didn't really warm to any of the people featured.

Others may have a different view.

I watched the Legoland prog with my daughter. She enjoyed seeing behind the scenes in the model shop. It is fairly simplistic, but I wasn't expecting anything else. The chap who leads the groundworks team and broke the ear off the hippo is married to a step cousin of mine.

Yes I also enjoyed the behind the scenes on the miniland stuff (only watched thhe episode with the fire engine). Was slightly telling that the tech lad had seemingly taken it upon himself to fix the train ride, or so the programme made out.

Still amazed at the cost of staying in those lego hotels....

LEGO featured fairly heavily (including even a stop motion video) in episode 7 of season 2 of The Boys on Amazon Prime.

Saw part of an episode of Family Ties from 1985 earlier today. One of the girls digs up a box of Alex's old toys which had a Legoland set in it that was too new to be from his younger days. It was probably a current release when the episode was filmed but couldn't determine for sure which set it was. I think it was primarily white and blue so it may have been #6694 Car with Camper.

Saw this a couple weeks ago but forgot to post it. A second magic trick on the show Fool Us by magician Jandro featuring LEGO. I really enjoyed this one a lot and felt that the use of LEGO was especially well done for this trick and actually made the illusion even more "magic".
