Looks like someone snitched and busted Amazon for selling all the 2015 sets early. They all have been removed.

Doesn't entirely surprise me. A whole month in advance? That's bound to get the attention of someone.

Avengers sets were released two months in advance, right? Oh well, I'm glad I got my three Elves sets while I had the chance.

I'm wondering if I'm still going to get my avengers tower set.. It had a one to two days delay as listed on the site. It might now get cancelled. Wondering if they will honor all purchases before removal.

"Busted" is an interesting word choice, since there seems to be no penalty for releasing/selling early. TRU does it all the time and Lego does nothing about it.

Yeah, I doubt someone snitched as much as someone realized they shouldn't be put out yet, and pulled them.

It's a figure of speech. Jokingly ..Amazon probably realize that they were not suppose to be on sale yet and took them off the site.

I have all the new ninjago in my "saved for later" and this allows me to put the items into my shopping cart. I went all the way through to the confirm purchase page but did not actually make the purchase. Tempted to try just out of curiosity.

I think they probably realized they didn't have the stock, they are always in limited quantities at first. I don't think Amazon is too worried about release dates for Lego sets.

I have in in my cart, but if I try to go to the link it tells me page cannot be found. While I see it in checkout, my guess is you would get your money back for those sets with a note reporting they are unavailable at this time

I figured as much. When I was tracking my order for the Avengers sets, I went to look at the page from the item links to see if they were still in stock and got a 404.

I was disappointed that it was only two of them, but I guess we were kind of lucky to begin with?

Grats to those that pull the trigger early. Looks like people got their initial shipments. I'm patient enough to wait for the first 10-20% off deals that typically happen within the first 6 months. Especially that some of the TLM sets are clearancing now. I love LEGO, but I have to stick to my budget or all hell will break loose.

I doubt it. If there was a stock issue, it would just sell out. One of the Avenger sets sold out early. Instead they completely removed the listings for all the sets including those that had stock.

Meh. They'll be around for the next couple of years anyhow so there's really no reason to rush. Besides, you'll be able to buy them at better prices later.

^^that's why I'm waiting. Not a huge deal for me to have them now at inflated cost. Even if not inflated, ill be able to go to target or TLS anyway

I wonder when they will be back up? Also, doesnt TRU often pre-release sets? Maybe Amazon is just waiting for them to take the "leap".

Pre-releases are well and good, but this was really very early to the point I presumed it was an error and not a pre-release.

I don't know that there really are any pre-releases. In TRU's case, it could just as well be an error they continually fail to correct. I'd be surprised if any retailer has an agreement with LEGO that allows them to sell sets early.

THat would be interesting. Toys-R-Us over the years typically have had some sets out early, whether it was Lego or Playmobil. I figured it had to have been arranged or it would have been stopped by now.

I just assumed it was part of the typical TRU bumbling and blundering along. "Here is some stuff, stick it on a shelf somewhere I guess."

What's funny is in another couple weeks this is all for naught!

I just ordered the 70748 Titanium Dragon from my saved orders and it went through.
    Expected to arrive Feb. 17.
The items are all showing in stock including the Avengers tower which was out of stock yesterday.

I ordered a few of the Ninjago sets Monday. Unfortunately I didn't get a shipping confirmation yet, so I'm assuming it didn't go through. I was still charged though, so I guess anything is possible. They were meant to come this Monday(ish) so if I don't receive anything by the end of next week I'll have to contact Amazon about getting my money back. I'll update accordingly

They will be back up on March 1st, judging from how this has played out in the past. There is no such thing as a "pre-release", unless you mean how Lego itself offers VIP members a chance to buy something early. No, TRU does not "pre-release". They just ignore the street date/shelf date that is clearly marked on all the shipping boxes that reads "Do NOT Put on Shelf Before March 1, 2015."

TRU has a long history of ignoring Lego's release dates. Target recently joined the party by releasing the Frozen castle before January 1st. Some, but not all of their stores, anyway. Amazon did it with the Minecraft sets, ignoring the official release date, then taking their ads down, just as they have done with the March 2015 sets. My guess is that AMZN plays dumb, sells them early, then Lego calls and reminds them they are not supposed to sell them until March 1st, and so AMZN cooperates, removes the ads, and then respects the official release date.

Oh, and to add one final wrinkle, Lego themselves have violated their own official release dates, announcing an early release of a few sets, but it's uncommon. And a bad idea, I think.

How would you feel if you went to a store for new sets, on the official release date, and the set you had eagerly awaited was already out of stock, due to an early release that you didn't know about?

I saw this yesterday and went on my ipad app and ordered the Ultra Agents sets. They still say a "guaranteed delivery" for Monday with amazon prime.

Oddly enough, you can't access the listings on the amazon site or the iPhone app... Just the ipad app. Just a head's up for those who want some of the sets early.

I tried tonight on my iPad and couldn't order anything. Maybe you found a loop hole and were lucky enough to utilize it before they closed it.

As long as you have it on your wishlist or cart previously, you can order it. I can order avengers tower, iron man vs Ultron, Pirates bounty and all the elves set still.

I had the ultra copter in my cart. From there the others were on the side recommendations that I added to my cart from there.

Mercifully I think I want more of the parts in many of these new sets, and not the sets themselves. The demolition sets are going to hurt my wallet a bit but then again they should be found on sale for at least 20% off during their run. Same with Pirate. What I really want is the red and sand green 1x2 masonry brick which I hopefully can get from other methods (want to see those pop up in a PaB by me)
  • piratemania7piratemania7 Member Posts: 2,146
^ I'll be buying a copy of each of the Pirate sets soon after release. But will hold off on buying a second copy until I see a similar 10-20% off sale (which even for Amazon may not be long after they launch!)

I just came from the Westchester Discovery Center - the store there had the Elves line, the new Ninjago sets (except the Titanium Ninja one) and the Pirates line for sale. Picked up the three smallest Ninjago ones.
  • richlrichl Member Posts: 246
Oh the Avengers sets were out too.
  • piratemania7piratemania7 Member Posts: 2,146
Well I'm glad it's only a couple more weeks before everything is widely available. Cannot locate Pirates on Amazon...
