New BAM parts?

I just visited my local branch at the Glendale Galleria and noticed something very strange in the create-your-own-minifig section. I saw a blue minifig head in a pile of yellow ones and noticed that... it was the Wrestler's. I then dug in further and noticed that there were a lot of heads from the previous series, AND they came with their respective hats/hairs, torsos and legs! WOW.

The only thing that was disappointing was they did NOT come with their accessories. We could only get what the store could provide, so my Wrestler has no cape, my caveman has no club, and my wicked witch could only have that rectangle dust broom. I could care less for the display bases personally, but I STILL have to go to Bricklink for what's missing. And they didn't have everybody at the time.

But...Is this anything new? I don't get to visit this place everyday unfortunately.

No, this is not new. My Lego store has had clown parts and others for at least 6 months.

How embarrassing. All i saw were pirate pieces last month. There better be another thread on this somewhere

^--- There are threads...I saw aclowns, Cheerleader and nurse haird and Robin hoods and Magicians at the PAB some time ago..
Since they they have Cheerleaders, Clowns, Wrestler, Magicians, I think I saw Ninja's as well. The key note is the Accessories for these figs are missing...

Funny, I was going to start a thread about these S1 and S2 minifigs in Build a Mini bars in LEGO Stores, as I've been to the Aventura Mall store near Miami last Saturday Oct 15th, and found several parts from these figs.

I built: Tribal Hunter, Super Wrestler, Cheerleader, Ninja and Caveman from Series 1 and Pop Star, Disco Dude, Pharaoh, Witch, Vampire and Mime from Series two. As always, accessories were missing, but most of them are not hard to find at all. I knew these were coming as TLG announced that these minifig bars would have these parts, but I was not expecting to find that many parts and make so many complete figures that quick. Now hoping to find the Circus Clown, Forestman, Spartan Warrior, Cowboy, Zombie and Nurse.

The new Sawgrass Mills store is opening up by the end of the month, and that's a lot closer from home than Aventura, so i guess I'll be making weekly trips to the store to try and find more of S1 and S2 parts, as I have completed S3, S4 and S5 already.

This is a bit of a relief. Based on what ive read, I guess it's safe to assume I did not miss out on the robot and crash test dummy. and i have a reason to go back too, thinking about getting the Magician, Tribal Hunter, and some random piece minifig. I think i did see a forestman though, but it's probably just a random memory.

Here's one of the threads discussing the return of CMF to BAM displays...

    http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/123/new-bam-set#Item_7

Additionally and as I recall, these additions to BAM displays were advertised in at least one LEGO Store calendar. I would thus imagine that some more discussions took place under in the calendar articles on Brickset and/or calendar threads here in the forum.

A while ago I saw someone post that they saw series 2 parts in the build a mini bar at the lego store. Was this real. It has been a couple months. I never saw pictures, so I guess it didn't happen. ;-)

Anyone seen any of these at their stores? It seemed like we were getting a regular rotation of parts, but it had dried up.

I have seen the following figures' parts appear in the Build-a-Minifigure bar:

    SERIES 1
    Clown
    Cheerleader
    Spaceman
    Caveman
    Wrestler
    Indian
    Ninja
    Forestman

    SERIES 2
    Witch
    Vampire
    Traffic Cop
    Pharaoh
    Singer
    Mime
    DJ

I personally put together a spaceman, caveman, Indian and Pharaoh (let friends put together and keep the other two).

    but no zombies. Figures
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
The accessories were never part of the BaM either. Just the figs. So you couldn't get the pom poms for the cheerleader or the horn for the clown.

^^ Zombie will probably be part of that "vintage" CMF five-pack that should be coming out soon. Wasn't it supposed to be December or January?

If zombie is a part of a CMF pack then Lego is going to make a lot of money from me!!

@MattPetersen, according to LEGO rumor lines there is going to be a LEGO theme later next year called Monster Fighters with all kinds of monsters, zombies and hunted castles. You will probably like those...(c:
I read about this at http://allaboutbricks.blogspot.com/
    They are usually first on rumors and ends up being pretty accurate...(c;

    Awesome news!!!
I have all the monsters from the recent Mini Fogs collections except the zombie.

The Superhero line and a possible Monster Hunting line is going to bankrupt me!!!

^^ I know we're going waaaay off the original topic now but though I like the idea of this, I don't really understand how each set could contain a "unique minifigure" as stated in the blog. Surely that would mean the monsters, and pretty much all the classics have already been done in the CMF series. The sets would have to be pretty amazing to convince me to buy them when I already have all those CMFs and could moc up my own scenes.

With Lego, "unique minifigure" can mean a new print or a slightly-different color combination. It in no way implies that there must be never-before-seen characters.
