Lego Jurrasic Park Video Game

Figured I'd start a new thread, rather than get it all lost in the Avengers video game one.

Looks like there's a bit more info released about it yesterday, sounds like it's going to cover not just the new film, but the original 4 films too. Dinosaurs will be playable characters so you can engage in dino battles and you'll also be able to collect amber studs for DNA that lets you create and customise dinos too.

There's a short animation introducing it on YouTube too. I've never really got into many of the games like Batman, Marvel, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit as much as I have the often lesser referred to ones like Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, and TLM, but I have a feeling that JP is going to go down as one of my favourites!

    Original 3 films? =)

I assume it will be called Jurassic Park, unless this is another Artic Batman.

Hopefully the inclusion of content from the earlier movies translates to sets from the earlier movies. While I don't particularly care for anything from the second or third, I'd surely love anything from the first.

wonder whick UK retailer will have it. I'd guess at Game.

Hope the figure with the game is Jeff Goldblum if we don't get sets based of the first movie.

I think that poly is all we're getting in terms of physical Lego with the game. Id still like to see some sets based on the original film, only see it happening now if the world sets sell fantastically

A gallimimus with teeth? Come on LEGO, you're better than that.
  • SolariousSolarious Member Posts: 317
    Yeah
It does look a little sinister for a Dino whose most vicious food source was probably shrimp
  • SolariousSolarious Member Posts: 317
Still, this has to be the cheapest way to get a Dino yet
If you don't actually want the game you can return it

It seems there are going to be two "exclusives", though I think he's in one of the sets too? Perhaps a variant?: image

Lord, I need that lab coat outfit!

That's an interesting developement. Think I'd rather have the extra dino, but that "amber" piece is pretty cool.

Yeah it's not the Gallimimus that's gullible, it's the PR folks at TT because Mr Gallimimus appears to have swapped himself out for a raptor whose been caught instead.

It seems to be pretty difficult to pre-order this game from Target to get the Wu minifig.  Checked a couple of stores, none of those cards exist for any system, and there is nothing online.  Very strange.

I played this game a little at Fan Expo Vancouver. It was what I expected, like most other Lego games.

This FB page confirms Wu as the Target preorder, if you haven't seen it: https://www.facebook.com/LEGOJurassic?fref=nf

Yep, I saw that up there about 3 weeks ago, but there is still no way to pre-order from Target, in-store or online.

Target now has the game up for preorder - but no mention of the Wu figure:

Worth keeping an eye on for an update.

just seen that in the UK Game have the gallimimus edition up for preorder.

Not surprising seeing as it's usually between them and amazon for the minifigure edition games.

Yeah it's been up about a week now, already preordered, thankfully I had about £10 reward credit that's been lying around unused for the best part of a year now, so not too badly priced in the end.

and the Doctor Wu version is available from amazon.co.uk slightly cheaper than Game, but I prefer to get an extra dino!

Is the Dr Wu any different to the one in the largest Jurassic world set?
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,459
Looks the same at a glance but I've not particularly checked.
  • XefanXefan Member Posts: 1,148
Anyone had theirs arrive today? Just wondering if came via the usual post or via courier. If it's usual post then it looks like Royal Fail has failed once again for me!
  • AndyPolAndyPol Member Posts: 402
My children have got theirs, however as we are all going to see the film now, they'll have to wait a bit!
  • jedivalkyriejedivalkyrie Member Posts: 370
PIcked up the game from Target, Dr Wu is a "pack-in" with the game.  So when they're gone, they're gone.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,459
Mine arrived from GAME today, was in a much bigger box than normal.
  • NeilCrosbyNeilCrosby Member Posts: 77
Likewise, mine arrived from GAME today, in a chunky box.

Identical. Apart from the packaging, of course....

Cheers guys, turned up in the end via courier in a chunky box too!

Thanks Dave, at least there's always another way to get Wu and his amber other than buying the game twice then :)

Went to watch the film itself last night. It was pretty decent. Probably the least plausible of the series but then I don't tend to go to the cinema for plausibility. I go to be entertained which I was, though I did guess much of the ending pretty early on, so it was pretty predictable.
