Thx, picked up a few flying flushers. Kinda amusing to see the CMF series 12 on sale now for 1.98 USD.

I never bothered with S12 CMF's because of the Canadian price point, but I might buy 32 and get the ones I want and return the rest. $64 (!!!!) for a full set of 16 at the $3.99 MSRP. Crazy.

Best of luck. Last time I ordered around 40 of them and still didn't get a complete set.

I bought a Flying Flusher and 5 Dol Guldur Ambushes. This set has been on sale so much that I can never resist it, and it has to be the set I've bought more of than any other. But the parts are too good to pass up. I've had enough of S12, as they've been at that price at Target here for about a month. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah if you only want one it is prohibitive. I bought a few flying flushers and also a few other things (like the friends camping set) and birthday sets with the clown and got over 75 for the free shipping. I always buy enough at LEGO.com to qualify for free shipping, otherwise it may not be worth buying if you have to pay shipping.

I bought 32 today and was wondering what the odds of getting a complete set were. Apparently this is a well known problem:

On average, for a 16 figure set you'd need to buy 55.

The problem with buying online is with the pickers at the warehouse just grabbing packs in a row. Unless you an get a box you will likely get a 'lot' of the same 3 or 4 figures unfortunately as they rarely mix the box at the factory.

Apparently I bucked the system when series 13 came out by picking 14 of the 16 figures from 16 packs randomly at a LEGO store. Only one each extra of the snake charmer and explorer. Still cannot believe that, sadly did not win the lottery that night (likely used my luck up for that day on the pick)

I bought five Series 12 Minifigs and ended up with five unique figures. I think it's just luck of the draw...
  • TheLoneTensorTheLoneTensor MericaMember Posts: 3,950
You probably think it's the luck of the draw, because it couldn't be a more concrete example of being the luck of the draw.

Sadly just had my #70813 Rescue Reinforcements portion of my last order cancelled. The rest of the order shipped for free still, but they were really items I ordered to clear the free shipping threshold, so not nearly as excited to get those as I was to be getting Rescue Reinforcements for $42 + tax. I did order right at the end of the sale though because I was checking my local Lego store first (in the hope of not having to order the extra sets if it was in stock locally. Should have just called them instead...) Oh well. My own fault for not jumping on it right when it dropped.

@111ins I have received a few extra CMF, a few small chima sets and if there was more than one box in the order I have gotten the free polybag in each box. Never ordered CMF as I like to figure out what I'm getting before I buy, and I don't collect Chima so I don't know if they "fell" into the box, or just a mistake by Lego.

My Rescue Reinforcements was cancelled as well. I ordered when they were plainly still in stock. I was looking forward to getting the $42 price and returning the one I'd gotten for $55 earlier on. Oh well. The most annoying thing was that about an hour before getting the "your order has been cancelled" email, they sent a "your order will be delayed" email.

I believe TRU as it for $59.99, and if the 20% coupon works on that (it worked on the Getaway Glider), it'd get you to $48.
  • PoochyPoochy USAMember Posts: 479
^ $59.98 to be exact, and yes, the 20% coupon should work as the item is marked as clearance in store.

No, but in an BF order I received the Friends tent set I did not order. Always nice to see something like that occur.

I was shorted one CMF in my order. I guess 31 of 32 is to be expected. I will ask for a $2 refund since they are probably out.

It's the second reduction that set has had, they are trying to unload it. I don't know how much longer it will last.

It's on slick deals now. No chance it lasts into next year. Which the ice cream machine was that price!

Slickdeals also posted this gem this morning. #10682 - 1,000 parts for $36. Just found it and of course it's sold out. I bet they didn't have a limit on it, and supply was gobbled up extremely quickly.

Let's do the probability theory math... (sorry, I can't help it)

In order to expect to receive at least one of all 16 CMFs, you would have to had ordered at least 55 CMFs. At roughly $2 per CMF (on sale), you would have to pay $110 (plus tax) to get all 16 CMFs. That works out to be about $6.88 cents per CMF to complete your set by trying to get it from TLG.

Based on your order of 32 CMFs, the probabilistic expectation is that you should have only received between 10 and 11 unique CMFs. In your case you received 13, so you came out as well as someone purchasing 42 random CMFs.

In short, you actually saved $20...

Note: All these numbers assume a completely random probability in the CMF selection. Based on the other numbers above, it appears that TLG does actually try to provide more variety than just a random selection.

It appears some new items were added to the [email protected] clearance list. I don't recall seeing these in the deals section before:

    #76005 Spider-Man™: Daily Bugle Showdown - 39.98
    #70804 Ice Cream Machine - 23.98
    #70805 Trash Chomper - 23.98

If you are in the US, just need to get over 75 dollars for free shipping (not sure if this is the same of other countries). Plus you get the little demolition truck if you pay more than 35 USD in stuff.

I just checked (by feel) the twenty Series 12 CMFs I purchased from Lego [email protected] a couple weeks ago. I ended up with 13 unique figures -- missing the Joker, Pig Guy, and Disc Jockey. My extras included a Wizard, Hun Warrior, War Goddess, Rock Star, Genie, and two extra Musketeers. Actually a pretty decent distribution for only ordering twenty...definitely not random.
