Has anyone (regionally) seen any of series 14 at Meijer?  I have yet to see any.  Plus, the normal endcap where they used to display CMFs (along with all the other blind-bag/party favor things), seems to have been abandoned chain-wide for more classic toys.
Nope and the end cap at my central OH Meijer has also changed as you described. I've also noticed that they now stock the checkout aisles with Mixels, rather than polys.

Kind of sucks b/c Meijer is (was) my main CMF source.  Our Kmart hasn't stocked them either. I bought from MinifiguresPlus this time around which is good b/c I would not have been able to complete this series via retail. That's a first since I started collecting.

Just one more reason to jump off the CMF train I guess.

@TheLoneTensor scratch that last comment. They actually showed up at my Meijer tonight. They were on j-hooks on the side of an end cap, rather than the bins.

I've been watching Meijer in Lansing MI for a while, no series 14 yet... got 'em all at Target!

@Rainstorm26  - I want to say yes, but I honestly don't remember.   They may have been $4.18.

Bought another four today. Couldn't spend a lot of time feeling packs so tried to pick the bulkier ones, hoping to get a werewolf. Ended up with 2 plants, Brickfoot, and scientist. Needed the plant and Brickfoot. Didn't need a third scientist and it sucks when you get two of the same in one purchase.

Called my local LEGO store and they were still sold out, and went to my local Target and they didn't have any CMFs out that I could find, so I resorted to ordering 20 of them from S@H. Hopefully I'll get a full set, but if not, I might be able to trade some with a guy at my work, and if that doesn't work out, then I'll post them up here. Is the general preference for them to be sealed and felt up, or to be opened and confirmed?
  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,248
Depends on your buyer.  And your bag-feeling prowess.

    I normally want bags sealed.

Well I'm not that great at it, but my girlfriend is pretty good, and with the guide published and the anecdotes that this is the easiest set to feel, I think we'll have a pretty good success rate. Of course, if I end up being able to trade with the guy at work, it might be moot :)

Anyone else see this?  Looks like a pretty cool addition for the Series 14 minifigs.

Check this thread. The seller is someone here that is a forum member I believe.

^ Love the discussion on that thread about how 'wrong' it is that TLG put a non-existing 'set' as the backdrop for the advert...

By that logic, only characters TLG have produced as part of regular sets or plan to produce should have been in the Lego video games. The same for any vehicles, buildings, etc... As much as I want TLG to produce many of the characters from Lego MARVEL Superheroes the Video Game as minifigures, it is extremely unlikely, at least short-term, as there are something like a hundred characters (I'm excluding DLC characters, as the WiiU didn't get them).

Yeah, I was trying to gloss over that. LEGO has a history of building things for their adverts that were never made so not sure why folks are complaining now.
But this thread is more for the CMFs than that spooky house.

@madforLEGO, I posted that here, cause I figured posting it there would kick off round two...

I already have a spooky house for my Halloween minifigs, it's the Haunted House.  Though I dare say it got very crowded this year.

Man, the buildings LEGO make for their city ads and commercials are freakin awesome. That spooky house is nice. Would be awesome if LEGO surprised us with a set lol. Wishful thinking, but at least the instructions are readily available.

^ How do you make a witch scarier? Why give her a gun, of course.

^^ I don't think those are genuine or licensed.

^ I'm pretty sure that's a megaphone.  Although, if you gave Bigfoot a gun, he wouldn't be so hard to find.

Silly people, baby gargoyles are delivered by grotesque storks.

It's crazy that they can't maintain the same mechanical tolerances that the Lego molds can

My grandmother used to make that same lime jello salad that the zombie Cindy Brady is holding. I loved that stuff as a kid.

I like the club spooky house and I would have enjoyed building something like that with my kids but they vetoed the plan. They're building a haunted amusement park instead. My 7 year old made the banshee be the balloon seller. My 8 year old argued that the balloons might carry her away so they should use bigfoot to make the scene more realistic.

It's not at all crazy.  There is a lot of engineering involved in that precision.

True, but minifigs have been around for almost 40 years.  China has been working in plastics for a loong time, and counterfeiting even longer.  Other than the printing and materials themselves, the individual parts / assembly of them should be duplicate.  I'm just surprised they look as bad they do.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,559
They do have a similar quality and tolerance to Lego (I have some LEBQ fakes). But they come unassembled, so it is probably more due to sloppy putting together than actual quality.
  • andheandhe Member Posts: 4,006
Not to totally derail this thread, but can we assume that the chinese bootleggers make their moulds from original lego parts? Would that explain a number of the intolerances. And TLG's desire for stuff (either designs or physical product) not to leak before they can get the official stuff into shops.

FINALLY got these in at the local drug store, the only place near me that sells LEGO.  I suck at feeling packs so pretty much just bought 2. One was Tiger Lady, which I already had, but the second was the WEREWOLF! My fave who I needed.

I guess the spider lady would probably be the easiest to pick out because of the slope dress so I might take the time next visit which will probably be real soon.

    I still need 6 more! :}
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,559
Tiger lady is very popular, so keep her until you just need one or two, then trade her if you cannot find them.

Haven't seen many CMF 14 at stores...only 1 of my 2 Targets and no Walmarts yet.  Most stores still have a box or two of the Simpsons Series 2 collecting dust.
  • chuxtoyboxchuxtoybox Member Posts: 711
So, to prove how bad I am at feeling packs... I bought 2 more today. Thought for sure I had picked out spider lady, turned out to be a plant! 3rd one! :(

I did follow someone's advice that I read here somewhere and shook the packs until I heard what sounded like a chain rattling. Sure enough, it was a specter, which I needed! :)

I actually wouldn't mind having more of the specter for extra cloaks and chains are always handy too.

IMO the spider lady is really the easiest to find (That is if she is hanging on the hook in the store). Simply search for the wedge piece, she is the only one with a wedge piece I believe.

Good that you found the spectre, it really is a nice figure IMO.

I see the CMF 14 all over now (including the LEGO store) , but just no longer need them. Though the LEGO store I frequent appears to be helping folks find figures again so not sure if LEGO corporate decides to relax their edict about not helping folks find the fig they need (ie feeling the packs)

My wife surprised me and bought me five more packs! I guess I'll keep her.

Ended up with zombie businessman and zombie pirate, which I needed, extra werewolf (good)  extra gargoyle (good) extra skeleton (not so good).

All I need now is the witch, the fly and the spider lady. Maybe I'll be able to feel them out tomorrow.

I know you've all been waiting with bated breath to find out if I finally completed my series 14 CMF set so I won't keep you in suspense.

Today I bought 4 more packs. This time I felt the packs and found what I was pretty sure was the spider lady and also a witch. Then I just picked to other random packs.
Ironically, I ended up with 2 spider ladies. I was right about the witch and I got another specter which I wanted anyway.

Now all I need is the fly. Does anyone have any tips on how to identify him?

From the pictures I didn't think the witch looked that great but in person she actually has a lot of details and the most accessories. I'd like more of her just for  the cat.

^  Just find the torso and feel for his claw on the left hand. If you find the claw, feel  for the wings. His head has a soft, rubbery feel to it.

    Wings are the dead giveaway.

Well, after feeling every pack that store had left, nothing felt like the fly so I didn't buy any. Probably going to just buy outright online. I ended up buying 3 Mixels.

Seemed like there were a lot of specters. Is that the most common one?
  • The_Mad_VulcanThe_Mad_Vulcan Member Posts: 162
There are a few that are quite popular and a few army builders. It will likely depend on who else in you area is feeling packs. But I have heard a lot of people saying that they want multiple Gargoyles for instance. Not finding the Fly seems a bit odd to me, but who knows what someone might be collecting.

In series 14, I went through quite a few boxes and swore I couldn't feel a hotdog guy or a unicorn girl. And when I did find them, it was so obvious that i know that they simply were not present in those previous boxes. So I'd say: believe your fingers.

The Space Marine was one that I was buying a lot of and there were always a lot of those around to get (apparently, I'm the only one with that Army in mind.)
