Scale model of a building

Hi guys,

This is my first post, so be gentle with me! I'm also very new to the world of Lego (well, since I was a child...) and have a few questions to ask some of you Lego experts.

A few friends and I would like to build a scale model (around the size of a small car), of a historic building. We have the blueprints for the building and plenty of photos to reference, though we're not sure how much Lego we'll need. So, my question is, do any of you know of a clever way (or software I can use) to work out how many and what type of Lego bricks we'll need?

Any help/advise would be fantastic.

Thank you.

Chris

I suggest downloading Lego Digital Designer (LDD) and just diving in. Use a scale converter to determine how many studs you need for a given length, and start blocking out the foundations of the walls. Once you've done that, you can look into which elements would be appropriate for detailing.

Amazing, I'll download it and give it a go. Thank you!
