Difference between 10213 and 10231 Shuttle adventure and expedition?

I have got either #10213 or #10231, but I am unsure which as they look similiar. Is there a way to tell the difference_? Or are they the same apart from added hair in 10231?
I am going to sell it and one set seems to be worth £50 more than the other....

#10231 :

- The fuel tank has been reinforced with supports to strengthen the assembly

- The landing gear is strengthened to function better across many different floor types

- The Cargo doors can now be more rigorously opened and closed

- The entire build has been reworked to limit opportunities for misplacing elements

- Astronauts now have wigs in addition to their helmets (1 male, 1 female). Face prints are also different.

- The new set now has 1,230 elements

- New Satellite can be securely positioned on the new mechanical arm

I'm not sure you will get any more for this than Shuttle Adventure unless there are exclusive parts. You obviously don't have the instructions or the box, so it is just a matter of pieces that can be purchased anywhere.

I just checked the prices on bricklink, bit odd to have £50 difference for a similiar set, but I did not look into the details etc.
The best clue was the faces... I didnt think they would be different, but they are. I have the 10213.

Short answer: the second one doesn't disintegrate when you get within three feet of it.

How the first one got the green light, I don't know. Wet tissue paper has more structural integrity.

To make things even more confusing, you may have a #10213 but with the Supplemental Pack that fixed some of the issues, you may have 1230 pieces but it could be #10213+pack ...

If the stickers are applied, they are different on the side of the shuttle ( "Adventure" vs "Expedition" ).

Sold my #10213, and kept the #10231, figuring the later one is the better one. Both are still desirable though as I doubt LEGO will be doing another 'scale' space shuttle.

I have the original one and ended up asking LEGO for the service pack to reinforce the fuel tank, I figured the new one had the service pack included and then threw in some wigs, never realized they did so much more! I wish I had the newer one...It's a beautiful display piece, even though it doesn't go with the rest of the stuff I collect, I keep it cause its such a nice display.

I've still got my #10213 sitting proudly on my LEGO display unit with #21104 & #21101

I've never used it as a play item but it has survived two moves in tact although don't look too hard at the external tank as it does have a habit of exploding at the top . . . . .

Maybe I should see about getting a supplemental pack, or most likely not!

Ditto on all of this. Though LEGO declined to send me the service pack when I asked nicely...

Spoke to Lego yesterday too about the service pack as I've just inherited my dad's! Customer services said they couldn't send the kit but they did send me the list of the parts in the kit!

I do have both sets, but they're still MIB so can't really help much. From the Brickset database parts list, though, you can see there are quite many different parts and quantities, even though both models looked almost the same from the external.

According to Rebrickable, leftover parts are all those 1x1 plates, tiles, slopes etc.
