I really hope they do printed skirts for the girls rather than fabric. I hate fabric accessories.

What color bricks did they use in the sets? Lots of sea green hopefully?

The Mystery Machine and Mystery Plane were mainly lime green and medium azure.

How close is the large set to the Monster FIghter Vampyre Castle? Any reason to have both?
  • drdavewatforddrdavewatford Administrator Posts: 6,755
^ There are some definite similarities, but the colour schemes are different - lots of purple in the Mystery Mansion - and the mansion also has a neat greenhouse containing what looks like a man-eating plant! I'd have both...

Hey drdave, how did the eyes on the minifigures look? Like the first show (http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/17100000/Scooby-Doo-Where-Are-You-Hassle-in-the-Castle-1-03-scooby-doo-17176589-1067-800.jpg) or like regular minifigures?

Of all the licensed themes I think Scooby Doo was my favourite. The minifigures all looked great and were clearly based on famous villains (zombie, black knight and headless horseman to name a few).

The sets all looked great too. The Mystery Machine and Mystery Mansion stood out as they both included some nice vivid colours and I noticed dark red stripes on the Haunted Lighthouse which I love.

^ Good question. I reeeeeaally hope the minifigs stick to the more standard minifig design, and don't go all goofy-weirdy-cartoonificated-ugly face on us, like how the clone wars figs were. Bleaaaurgh.

(I'm hoping they'll blend in with the rest of my monster/horror type figs, and not stand out like sore thumbs).

There weren't any actual minifigures on display, just pictures of the minifigures that'll be included in the sets; I have to admit I didn't look closely at the eyes....

^ I think they were the standard eyes although cannot be absolutely certain.

What set had the Zombie in it? Was the Zombie similar than past Lego Zombies?
  • just2goodjust2good Member Posts: 247
Thanks for the answers. Any solid confirmation that these are based on the new show or the old one? i.e. did the boxes have the old logo or did it say "Be Cool Scooby Doo"?

@Pitfall69 - It was in the Mystery Machine set and was mainly white, green and light bluish grey.

    ^ I'm almost back in Durham, but I suppose you're right... ;o)

I am totally confident of one thing: however the eyes were printed, the complete minifigures looked fantastic.

@just2good‌ - I believe they were based on the original series. Almost all of the villains were those that appeared in early episodes of the first series.

My kids have watched the new Scooby Doo on Netflix, an I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Especially the second season, where it gets a lot more complicated.

Pretty excited about this theme. I used to watch this with my dad when I was a kid, he would have loved to see them in LEGO.

If I said I liked Scooby Doo, than I would be a liar. I loveeeee Scooby Doo. Literslly own every dvd of every Scooby Doo ever created. if you grew up in the seventies eighties and nineties when you watch Scooby Doo in the original format for the first time in 10 years the nostalgia hits you like a freight train. now that it is coming to Lego I am speechless and will probably buy at least three multiples of each set. My Lego collection will be complete.....

Imagine if they did the movie series in Lego and made the globe trotters, don knotts, and the three stooges

And as @prevere‌ said, Phyllis Diller. Wouldn't be complete without her :)

Saw an episode of this on one of kids channels other day and the baddie was some s and m woman with spikes and bombs and lasers and she was fighting some kind of blaxploitation diva. Different to the Scooby doo I remember for sure!

Thanks! I have Vampyre's castle stashed still. We were building one MF set a year in October.

I have just posted my full thoughts on the homepage in part 2. I think Scooby Doo was probably my favourite theme on display overall!

Looks like Scoob is going to be eating up the majority of my 2015 budget. I'm really looking forward to this theme.

"Animated Lego TV special and direct to video Lego movies"!!
    With exclusive minifigs I hope!

Figs look good, really like Scooby. Mystery Machine could be bigger but colours are excellent and love the printing.

Looks like there is going to be a fair few stickers on the Mystery Machine.

I count 14 on the vehicle plus 1 for the tree.

The set looks fantastic. I'm not a Scooby-Doo fan but it looks like Lego did a good job with it (unlike their LotR/Hobbit offerings).

I love love love that scooby mold. Wow this looks so great. Spot on.

My expectations for this theme might have been a bit too high. I understand every last set has to have a built-in play narrative, but I wish they had left out the tree and put more into the van.

I count 14 on the vehicle plus 1 for the tree.

I believe there are 16 on the vehicle. The "Mystery Machine" logo has to be two stickers because it covers a hinged section. I foresee complaints about the difficulty of applying the sticker on the tree.

After having seen the previews of the CMF Series 14 “monster” figures I was slightly disappointed but now having seen the Scooby Doo set, CMF14 become much more desirable.

This is going to be one of the Lego lines of the year, for me. The Mystery Machine looks great!

Good catch, upon further inspection you can see the line through the middle of the Mystery Machine logo indicating two stickers.

Of course this doesn't account for the back or interior of the vehicle.

Oh my! This looks absolutely fantastic. I love the look of the minifigures, can't wait to buy this set and the rest of the wave.

    Really like that castle
  • LostInTranslationLostInTranslation Member Posts: 5,572
Sooooo cool! I love the greenhouse!
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
The castle is ok. I am not fond of the purple. I understand it is there to provide spooky imagery. The greenhouse is great and I might detach that from the castle and put it with the Haunted House.
  • binaryeyebinaryeye Member Posts: 1,831
Ah, now that's more what I expected. I was hoping it would be a bit more substantial (and less vertically-oriented) but this definitely looks like a fun set.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,704
Damn that will be hard lining up all those stickers on the Mystery Machine...
It's quite similar to what my concept was, I would have liked them to slope the upper side of the walls as well as the roof. Maybe that's what my next MOC will be. The minifigures are just like The Simpsons ones which is great. The big set looks really cool as well. Can't wait to see the rest!

    Scooby Doo looks really good

I'm not too impressed with the sets though and there is WAY too many stickers on that Mystery Machine. Hopefully, the other sets will look better
