Animals Series 6 United States

SithLord196SithLord196 Member Posts: 1,161
So does anyone know when Series 6 of the Friends Animals will hit the United States?

My fiance is trying to collect most if not all of them and I know most of the rest of the world has apparently gotten Series 6 already.

I don't know any more than you do but I'd say probably never now given they've been cancelled in favour of small boxed sets.

They can still be had for close to original price from Amazon.co.uk. Not sure if they'll ship to you though...

I saw that the listing says "Sorry, we can't deliver this item to the United States".

Hate to break it to you but with lego screwing the release dates of the 2014 season for the states, i'm losing hope by the day that they are going to bother getting off their lazy rump and get them to the states. I mean yea there's those boxed sets but I want the series 6 sets WAY more!

The series 6 brings a panda, lion, and seal to the party. All three are great sets. On the other hand we get the boxed puppy that I don't want since I already have 6 puppies of the same mold and nearly same print, the pony set that I don't really want since it's a rip off of the mega bloks Barbie set that was done way better, and the mama and baby bunnies which is the only one I kind of want.

I've been climbing the walls for MONTHS waiting around for series 6 to get a release date and every day that goes by is another day i'm second guessing myself on being a lego fan.

I've been curious about these two, and considering Series 5 hit in the states here right when 6 was available elsewhere, I don't have much hope :( One Lego catalog I got in the mail showed series 6, but every catalog since has them absent. So, it's not looking too good I'm afraid.

Do we actually know that the series was canceled and replaced with boxes?
The boxes clearly have the vet symbol on them and are supposed to go with the vet set. That does not seem like a replacement, but something completely different.

I had been hoping/presuming series 6 would come out in March which is the time the previous series came out last year.

According to one report, the boxed sets are due to replace the bags and you can tell by the lack of a "series 7" in the foreign catalogs. However, if that is true, wouldn't you see another 3 animals on some sort of list? If we already have a summer schedule for city AND friends, then there should be a march list also.

And the previous series(wave 5) was October and wave four was very late march, almost april b4 it showed up.

I bet if you ask with a pretty please at least a half-dozen UK/EU Bricksetters would be happy to offer to try and send them to you for a fair price.

Has anyone emailed or called customer service to ask?

If I recall last year, there wasn't scheduled info for the three that finally came out in March/April.
I have not contacted. I think I last contacted them whioe waiting on a master builder release, and they only gave me a from response. It was pretty useless.

Problem is that I have a limited hobby budget that's about to have to compete with my desire to track down a few wii games and I can't afford the extra cost of asking for a favor from someone. It wouldn't just be the cost of the packs that's already a little above what we pay in the states but its a safe bet there'll be extra tax and then the shipping costs.

And I found a couple oversea BL places with them in stock but just the cost of shipping would be adding 6.50 to the prices and I have some leeway to add additional items but the problem is that I don't have the money for a BL order, the extra cost of shipping would make it close to 6 bucks a pack, and there's no items on my BL wishlist that I need bad enough to do an order right away.

oh no wait, correction. I do really need a few select parts for a project I want to do but those items are just under the need to secure a few small sets that im currently tracking and then a wii game or 2. However taking into account I have a couple ongoing projects going on that don't need parts from BL and the next in line will after the first 2 are done, the BL is not quite at the "need it NOW" level.

Been there, done that. Sent one email and they sent this bull excuse of "them not wanting to share things b4 things were ready to be shown/want it to be a surprise". sent an email saying something along the lines of "NEWSFLASH LEGO! the images of the sets have been known since the summer time and have been available to buy in the UK since SEPTEMBER!"

Got a response about some bull excuse combined with asking why don't I just ask someone from the region to order it for me. *eyeroll*

  • Looks like there are still a few knocking around South Africa. I will be in the US in March - PM me if you want me to pick some up for you and ship them when I get there.

I'll just charge direct costs which is basically $5 each (ZAR59).

Looks like the same thing that happened with the Star Wars planets last series that never made it to the US. My wife will be greatly disappointed if she can't finish the series. :o(

There wouldn't be extra tax, but as you've noted the shipping price from UK / EU really is the killer on cheap but large-ish items (compared to minifigs) like these.

I would help out as I've seen them for £2 each but as CCC has said, postage is killer. Would be 2/3rds of the cost if sent tracked by Royal Mail.

Don't bother, some people just like to complain.

I was mad as could be about the Planet Series too. I still need to get around to ordering them. Maybe I can find a Bricklink seller that has both without a too insane shipping charge.

I did just find several sellers on Amazon.US that have them. Of course they are asking more than retail but if you really need them, they have them.

Postage to the US from Europe can vary a great deal depending on the country. For a very small order like a polybag I've found buying from the Netherlands works best. For a somewhat heavier order (up to 400 grams), Germany and Poland give excellent rates. Check the individual vendor's store policies before buying, or get a quote if possible. Good luck!

They're available in Canada... I think mastermindtoys.com shops to the U.S and maybe Chapters Indigo as well.

Looks like it's a good deal in bulk, diminishes the high shipping to about $22 per set. You'd then have to ship them elsewhere but that'd be cheaper in the states... So like $25 total. Not the $12 I'd expect, but not astronomical.

It's going to be a few months before I can swing it, but chances are I'm going to try and find a seller that has these and the Series 4 Planets in stock and just grab all 6 in one order and hope the shipping charge isn't insane.
