Lego Minecraft SOLD OUT!

I saw the Lego Minecraft sets and i thought i must get some. So i decided to look for sellers online.
Everywhere SOLD OUT! that's if you wanna spend the normal price. How come there so popular.
What's going on?

The Minifigure scale sets are FAR from Sold out, at least in the US (all are available via S@H) . The microworld sets #21105 Village and #21106 Nether show as 'sold out'. The End set, which just came out I think, is available (a bit ironic).
The #21102 Forest shows as call for availability but the other two appear as 'sold out' at S@H.

Like @prevere‌ says though, some of this may be due to being after Christmas and LEGO tends to skew what their definitions are with sets being 'sold out' (sometimes to LEGO 'sold out' implies more will be made, but not in the immediate future).

But I just saw a First night set at a TRU, so I am guessing that maybe LEGO is moving away from the micro sets?
Judging by the 3rd party sellers on Amazon, there appear to be those trying to make money off of this news

Are they fun builds? My son's not into them so I don't feel inclined to get any but I'm wondering if these are popular due to the game or if they actually offer up a unique building experience? perhaps both?

@Chubbles I personally hate the build. I only purcahsed the first minecraft set, its a nice desk display model but because of all the small 1x1 plates and tiles, I hated building it.

I see that Lego do have 1 in stock. The others are supposed to be out to the 19th of February which is crazy.

It helps if you also note where you are seeing this information because there are many different countries represented on the forum.
Where are you located? Because in the US I see that LEGO S@H has all of the minifigure sets in stock and all but one of the microworld sets are shown as 'sold out', which usually means gone for good. I see no 'availability' date for them to be back (unless you spoke to LEGO CS and they said they will be back in Febuary).
