Nothing was marked down at my walmart.  Placed an order online and submitted the order confirmation from the order details section.  At one point the terms say submit online receipt which there is no online receipt and then it says submit shipping confirmation, so I guess I will resubmit when they ship it.  Terms say photo must include date of transaction, total dollar amount, and qualifying purchases.  Only thing that has all that so far is the order confirmation details.

Last week I asked an employee to check the price of Hogsmeade for me.  I had seen it for $69 in another Walmart.  When he scanned it he told me it was showing $98 which is above the increased rrp so may he transposed the numbers.  I scanned it myself through the app and it came up $79, the original rrp.

For what its worth, I bought online, but tried to use what they sent in email and it failed. I then went to the Walmart.com order history, opened that and took a screenshot and used that and got the congrats email.

In my experience, the app rarely shows accurate store clearance prices. They apparently are not fed into the larger corporate system.

Personal experience with the in app scanner shows regular price.  When I switch over to scan & go it gives me the clearance or sale price.  Ymmv.
Same, this is what I had to do last time I checked Walmart. The app used to give you the in store price but now won’t unless using the scan and go. I don’t know why they keep changing how the app works.

Because they want you to pay for Walmart+.  You can't use scan & go unless you join.

If only there was some way to check the price in the store, without having to go to the checkouts... You know, like scanners in various places... 🤔 Oh, wait... 😠
Don't worry the app still shows you the actual clearance or sale prices if you pay for walmart+ and use scan and go... I love using the subscription model for price scanners...

WTF is Walmart+? They want you to pay for the privilege of making things easier for them?

I wasn’t going to sign up for Walmart+ but one of the perks on my credit card is a statement credit for the full monthly price.  I’m pretty sure without that credit I would not have joined.

Got my Congrats confirmation at 9:17 last night, so about 38 hours after submission.

Got my congrats this morning.  Kind of surprised that I got it, given this is quite a bit after the promo started and they said there's a limit of 12.5k. Not sad though! :)

I've never heard of Walmart+. I also noticed the store removed all their scanners, so you have to use the app, if it works...

I Never even tried buying anything yet for this freebie. I just couldn't pull the trigger on any sets. I'm getting burned out of this hobby at the time.. But maybe I'll find something anyway.

This just keeps on getting weirder and weirder. Still no confirmation on the work email from Wednesday. Checked junk email on both, and nothing in my work email. My personal email that never took got two responses. Sunday at 8 am they sent on that it was received, and Monday at 7am said it was a duplicate image. Just emailed the address they gave me, and waiting a response.

Walmart in Inver Grove Heights has some clearance LEGO, in the big aisle near toys. A few regular price sets in there too. Best deal was blue and white baseplates for $4, large greys for $7.
I absolutely refuse to pay a penny more than RRP at Walmart. I will, however, pay over RRP at any small or independent store- I bought #75333 for $30.99 at a hobby store last week.

I'll need to swing by my two new local stores on those white baseplates. I'd buy them out of white plates at $4/each.

It's been 29 hours since in submitted my photo.  My order came to $52.94 and when I looked today they reduced the price on one of the sets by $15, so my order is $37.94 now.  I don't know if they did that because the set was temporarily discounted after I bought it or if they ran out of castle promos and gave me $15 instead.  My order doesn't meet the threshold now.  I might resubmit in a few hours.

It took 2 days and about 4 hours from my first submission for me to get my email reporting I gave an 'incomplete' receipt. Once I resubmitted, it took another 2 days and 4 hours to get the Congrats email. Not saying thats everyone's experience, just mine.

So I finally got a response at 12:40 AM last night saying my submission was not a receipt image but I got another email at 4:50 AM saying "congratulations, my receipt is valid."  I have no idea what is going on on their end.

In other news, I finally observed a couple 10497s at my local WM.  It was a bizarre, but great little moment - over 4 decades since a Galaxy Explorer occupied retail shelf space.  Seeing that classic space design in a store definitely makes me do a double take.

Yeah same here, saw a couple at a Walmart today.. Was tempted to see if they were already marked with a clearance price .

Got my confirmation for the promo.  I must of just lucked out and happened to order a set that went on clearance for a moment right after I ordered.

Got confirmation on the Mini Castle around 1:30 this morning, 38 hours after submitting the receipt.

I was able to check out one of my nearby Walmarts yesterday and, for the very first time, I actually saw LEGO marked down in a Clearance aisle! The discounts didn't seem very significant aside from a Dots set, but it was fun to see the sets there and get my wheels turning about what could possibly happen in the future. Guess I'll need to get my route ready to hit all three stores in a single trip.

I checked for the 32x32 baseplates and they all rang up at full price, unfortunately. Otherwise, I would have grabbed the whole stack!

Lego clearance at Walmart seems to be very random- apparently store managers have some discretion over what to clearance and at what prices.

I have a feeling, with LEGO's price increases and inflation, that its likely that Walmart's all over will have a good amount of LEGO at clearance price at some point through next year (not sure if there is another clearing of the sets before Christmas this year, but guessing in the Spring there may be some great deals to be had)..

My nearest WM is around 40% off clearance...with a few exceptions..#21173 Minecraft Sky Tower $30 and I was able get a #31120 Creator Medieval Castle for $64.  I still am having a hard time rapping my brain around finding "clearance" at 40-50% and looking at the set and thinking "that's more like 20-30% off and I'm still not buying it."
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,838
Yeah, missed out on the Castles in the area for 50 USD unfortunately, and the Creator Pirate ships are not discounted, strangely enough...

I expect a lot of sets are overpriced right now because they anticipate that retailers will need to discount more to move sets.

    I don’t think that’s how Lego’s pricing strategy works.

Found #60301 for $30 tonight.  It was in the grocery section and not the LEGO section.  $30 is still too much money for a lion and some pieces for me.

I received mine today also.  I placed my order thru Walmart on the 10th of August.  And then I submitted/received my confirmation of the 11th.  So about 2 weeks.  Shipped from Michigan to Iowa.

I am a little disappointed that the set comes in zip-lock baggies.  Nothing is sealed.  So I would imagine pieces were hand picked and placed in the baggies...so I'm gonna count to see if all the pieces are actually there.

If anyone is in the area of the Walmart in Alexandria VA, 7910 Richmond Hwy, there are still 10 or so #31119 Creator Ferris Wheel on the top shelf of the Lego aisle. $49.

Keep in mind, this was coordinated by a third-party marketing company for Walmart, working with Lego to provide the parts and instructions.  It's just like the free GWP builds that Gamestop used to hand out, for example.
