Dare I say, Walmart?

More interesting to me was Walmart selling more of the higher end sets now. A nearby store carries both the Boutique Hotel and the Super Mario question block. What is the highest cost set anyone has seen at a brick and mortar Walmart?

if the picture of the set is from inside of their car, it's likely stolen.
Mental note taken.  I like to show off in the brag thread when I get a great deal, and some of those pics are from my passenger seat or trunk, I just can't wait to get it home. Oof.

Maybe they feel they can afford to sell those only if they are locked up?

I have seen that at several locations in Whatcom, Skagit, King, Snohomish and Thurston Counties in WA.
For a second, I thought you were being sarcastic and making up counties/words.  I'm from Iowa...we get excited about words like corn, beans, cow, farm...it's a 4 letter limit. Can't be any more words than fingers without someone throwing a hissy fit and mispronouncing it.  Anything more than that is pushing it...like those fancy big city folk.

Oh no, several town and county name in the pacific northwest are derived from the local tribes in the area. A general( and sometimes amusing) way to tell if someone is new to the area is to see how they pronounce certain locations. Poulsbo and the Sammamish are frequently mispronounced along with sometimes hearing people put an "r" in "Warshington"

back on topic though, at the stores where sets are behind glass, is it all sets or only high dollar sets? I have seen both, but wondered which is more common.

A good general rule of thumb has been, "if the picture of the set is from inside of their car, it's likely stolen."
Many, many years ago, when ToysRUs was still around (before the recent rebirth), I had a few coupons that I used to buy a bunch of #5004468.  I kept some for myself and others, but the rest I sold.  Anyway, I decided to take a pic of one in my car right after I bought it to use for my eBay listing.  I never do that, as I prefer to take a "clean" pic with a neutral background, but I think I just wanted to list it ASAP to beat the rush that was already starting.  The reason I bring this up is that, someone stole my pic from my auction and used it for their own listing!

So, I actually bought mine, took a pic of it in my car and used it for an eBay listing, and then someone steals my pic to sell one of their own.  There's some connection there, I just thought it's funny seeing the quoted comment.  Maybe that seller stole the one he was selling and also stole my pic.  ;)

Yeah, caught someone doing that with a picture of an instruction book I had listed on eBay, I reported them to eBay immediately. It takes nothing to take your own pic, never mind you are misrepresenting the item as its not your picture of your item (and if you have to do that, use a catalog pic and note that in the listing).

Free 90th castle mini build available with $50 purchase. Lego90offer.com looks like you have to do a bit of legwork to submit a receipt etc but the castle is pretty nice.

I've certainly done the same after scoring a great buy from the Marketplace or otherwise. Even after buying from the LEGO store as I'm just too excited about the purchase. But the selling type pictures have a distinct look to them that I've been able to narrow down.

...but, not that I've moved, I've already discovered a distinct lack of LEGO sales happening...

I'm eager to check out my two new Walmarts to see what their LEGO aisles look like. Hey, maybe I'll actually see a set on the Clearance aisle for once!

I submitted my receipt this morning. Got an error message but still got the email saying it was received and they would be in touch within 24 hours. Here’s hoping it worked.

Has anyone gotten this to work? I keep getting rejected and I did buy items that were on the list.
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 852
I purchased the Classic Batmobile and was forced to get the John Deere Tractor...since I work there.   I went thru the upload twice...and got rejected.  Then I tried a different browser (google Chrome) and it went thru right away.

Just an update:  I checked my mail today...and I've received 3 "Submission Received" emails.  So apparently even the "error" message went thru?  We'll see if I get 0 or 3 of the Anniversary sets.

I'm looking at the list of qualifying sets that Walmart includes and it looks like every single LEGO set available qualifies

I had to hit submit several times before it went through. I got 2 submission received emails yesterday. Today I received an email saying congratulations and another saying reward limit reached. I assume it means it accepted one and declined the duplicate.

Yeah, given when I got my order in, Im not holding out hope that I get an email. To me, its another one of those 'What was LEGO thinking?" moments to only have 12500 available.

I submitted via email earlier today to the address listed on the site, got a bounce-back message saying it was undeliverable. Just submitted via the form, we’ll see what happens. At least I spent the $50 to get stuff I was going to get anyway.

I submitted mine a few hours ago.  Hopefully I will get the Castle gift.  If my submission doesn't go through the Domo may end up getting returned even though I got it for $69.

Got the Kudos email at 4am or so, outside of the 24 hour timeframe but only by about 5-6 hours or so.

I submitted my receipt Wednesday morning (48 hours ago) got an error when submitting but got the email they received my submission and would respond in 24 hours. I haven’t heard back yet. Anybody else get the error and get yours approved?  Wonder if I need to resubmit my receipt.

I had to resubmit, due to something unreadable, haven't heard back yet. Probably, they're way too busy to always be quick.

Ugh, I got one of those saying I did not give them a good enough screenshot of the receipt so I went to the website order page and took a screenshot of that and resubmitted, but Im not holding out hope that Ill get one of these, especially now.

I submitted a PDF of the receipt for an online order, got the error message but also got a submission confirmation e-mail.  It's been well over 24 hrs and no follow-up, so I resubmitted again, this time with a screencap of the completed order page instead of the digital receipt.  Maybe too late now, but still hoping it goes through.  Got the error message and submission confirmation e-mail again.

Got my confirmation email at about 30 hours after I submitted the details. So sounds like they have a backup and just working through them. Fingers crossed for everyone waiting!

Lot's of markdowns in my 2 local stores also.  Unfortunately not on the Creator Castle.  I got the Marvel Eternals Domo set for $69. One had the Hogsmeade set marked down but the other didn’t.
I got confirmation this morning that I will be getting the Castle gift.

I resubmitted again yesterday. The first two times from my phone and got the error message. The third time from my laptop and it worked. Just waiting on the confirmation email now.

I got another e-mail within 2 hours of resubmitting with a screencap that asked me to "link my accounts."  It was just filling in my shipping details again, which was what errored out for both of my submissions through the main page.  I filled in my info again via a link in the follow-up e-mail and pretty much immediately got a "congratulations" e-mail that my order is in.  I have no idea if this was from my 1st or 2nd attempt, though.

I submitted my walmart receipt on 8/10.  I received an email saying they will  contact me in 24 hrs but nothing so far.  Can't even find any contact info for questions.

Maybe try resubmitting.  I submitted on 8/11 at around 5:30PM and got a "submission received" e-mail, no response after 24 hrs, resubmitted on 8/12 around 11PM and got another "submission received" e-mail, then got a "register now" e-mail on 8/13 at around 12:30AM to provide my contact info.  I didn't do that until 8 hrs after that last message and got a completion e-mail immediately after that.

I placed a qualifying order this morning and submitted the receipt as a PDF. I received the Lego 90th Anniversary "Submission Received" email in 9 minutes, but I didn't know that until 6 hours later when I found the email in my junk folder. I forgot to look there. We'll see how long it takes for them to confirm. Expecting 30-48 hours, not 24.

Frist it wouldn't take my regular email so I used my work email. Never got a confirmation email so I tried again today with my regular email. It took and let me fill out my info, but when I submitted it said I was already registered. Odds of me getting one, and the box not being lost or damaged in shipping are about 10%

I just got my Congrats message in my email saying I have a set coming, and that was after a re-submission from about 2 days ago so I would like to think they still have these available.
As for actual 'deals' on LEGO at stores: Interesting note (at least at the one store I went to). The clearance prices did not appear on their app when I scanned the item using the app. I had to take them to the self checkout to confirm the clearance price (Im sure I could have gotten this with an employee or at another counter, but they were all busy).

If only there was some way to check the price in the store, without having to go to the checkouts... You know, like scanners in various places... 🤔 Oh, wait... 😠

Personal experience with the in app scanner shows regular price.  When I switch over to scan & go it gives me the clearance or sale price.  Ymmv.
