I like some "girl" LEGO too. Pop Star reminds me of my Lady Gaga phase, a few other sets also appeal to me, and I get some minidolls to populate my scenes. They're also worth considering for parting out, maybe because of rare colors and molds.

I like the Lady Gaga bit, I could see that. I liked the minidoll's magenta hair enough that I almost picked up one of the sets, but there's a ton of new stuff this month that's prioritized. For me, I like to pick those sets up when I see them because the Friends and Elves stuff just makes me wish it were around when I were a kid. Though castle filled that gap for me, and I managed to make my own really great horse stable as a kid... and maybe I'm going to moc a giant horse stable now.

Also saw Death Star Final Duel for a good price last night. Kicking myself this morning for not snagging it.

Was it lower than the $59 price?

Does Wal-Mart allow for price adjustments on recently purchased items? For example, I got Kylo's Shuttle for $59 a few days ago, yesterday it got marked down to $30 but there were none left on the shelf. I know their policy does not allow matching a competitor's clearance price, but will they adjust to their own within a window? Thanks!

Depends on the manager. In theory you could do a return/rebuy, but some CSR's will freak out and talk to a manager about it. Depending on the mood/attitude of the manager it might go through, specially if you are doing it on the same store as originally bought

    Weird sighting at Goodwill.
Saw this set in their glass case: $30.69.
    Salvaged from Target.
Beat up box; creases all over; some corners showing the cardboard fibers and no longer the box art.
Security labels looked legit except for two that were sketchy, like someone lifted them up and resealed.
Nevertheless, shook the box and it rang sound.
Got home and checked the contents. They were all there, sealed.

Check your nearest Goodwill as they get the salvaged/returned Target items.

It looks like the Walmart closest to me finally started to board the clearance train to Emptyshelvesville. Although the items that were marked down I was generally uninterested in or they were already gone, I did pick up a copy of #41101 Heartlake Grand Hotel for $64.

Got a #75140 Resistance Troop Transporter and #70334 Ultimate Beast Master yesterday, #70331 Ultimate Macy today. The shelves are getting empty, Target already has new summer sets out, so this sale might not last much longer.

Mixels retial at $5, are a good deal at $3 or so, so at $1.25 I'd buy as many as I can as soon as I can.

I took the whole display box.

No more 50% clearance in the LEGO aisles - I was bummed out, until I found some sets 70% off in clearance aisles.

^which ones? I just found a Tiger Widow island for $20, Ariel's Undersea Palace for $25, and a Poe Dameron for $7. Everything else... Gone.

Closest WM to me has nothing marked on the shelves, so the app came in handy. Only thing on clearance that I found was #75903 Haunted Lighthouse for $25.

I didn't want to get it, but I ended up biting for the First Order Transport #75103 for $49. Almost all of the other sale items (TIE, Kylo's Ship) were gone or back to 'regular' price.
  • CaptainRogersCaptainRogers Member Posts: 869
Found 2 First Order Transporters for $45 each! I so wanted this set on clearance! Unfortunately I probably have to sell one to cover the cost of the other. Still, I'm excited.

Picked up the blue power jet for $35.  No other sets on clearance besides a few buildable figures.

I think we aren't gonna see any more items on clearance for the next couple of weeks, or maybe a bit before the release of Rogue One.

I haven't been paying attention to those since I'm not personally interested and they'd be hard to sell because of all the weird parts. But it does seem like a good deal if you actually want them.

  • Bricklover18Bricklover18 Member Posts: 722
Yeah, I didn't buy any of the buildable figures because I do not have any interest in them.

The best way to monitor price fluctuations is usong brickseek's Walmart inventory app. Inventory isnt always accurate but price always

I'm the same way. They're the one thing that I've seen in stock on clearance at nearly every store in my area and I constantly pass on them. I'm not really into them. I thought about getting Vader and Ren just for the heck of it, but stayed away. Just not my thing.
  • ryjayryjay Member Posts: 1,006
I've been picking up a few buildable figures but only at $10 and under.  I have no plans to build them, but they could make for fun gifts.

I pulled the trigger on Luke at $9.  No plans to do anything with it except let it collect dust in my closet for a decade or so and see if it's worth something.

I have two Grievous ($9 each)...unfortunately I damaged the boxes for one of them, so that's one I have to assemble, but based on reviews, it's a great build.

I got some buildable figures when Cody, Obi, and Grevious were all clearanced out for 75%-80%, some to display and others for parts.
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
Grievous is actually a very impressive and imposing figure. Much larger than I expected him to be and he looks great on a shelf. I want to pick up Vader as well...so I should probably act soon.

I picked up two Lukes and a Jango Fett at $9 each. That's a great price point for birthday presents and I'll be happy to have them around.

Grievous is awesome. You're gonna have fun building and displaying him, although his posability can be tricky.

Just stopped by my local WM to see if any more clearance items had come out of the back room. Some did, but the clearance prices were gone = everything was regular price. Looks like they were doing inventory. Does anyone know if, once inventory is finished, the clearance prices will return? Or is this store done with clearance pricing for a while? Store is Mitchell, SD.

I checked my local WM (Chesterfield, MI) and every set with a clearance tag was gone.  I have a retail background with 13 years in the industry.  We did inventory twice a year, January and July and it was always AFTER our advertised clearance sales. However, a majority of clearance product remained true clearance and was sold until stock levels were depleted. It just wasn't advertised chain wide.  My local Walmart seems to run nook and cranny clearance throughout the store, long after its clearance event has ended. With that said, I'm not sure how Lego fits into that scheme. I have never seen Lego on the endcaps or clearance racks.  Therefore, I havent been so lucky as to snag any Lego set at a significant discount.

In my experience, there are the two major clearances, one immediately after Christmas and then mid-summer.  You may find random clearance Lego when going through the disorganized and cluttered clearance isles, but that is more just a matter of luck and circumstance.  However, while Walmart will randomly place sets on clearance, I have never really been able to detect any rhyme or reason to it, you might walk in and see a random set on clearance in one particular store, but it won't be on clearance in many other stores.

I went to the store where I got the TIE a few days ago...and almost all of the sets were back at their original price, they even moved the sets around (LEGO Star Wars is now where LEGO Superheroes was, stuff like that), and no sale prices on anything.

However, in the clearance section they had a couple of Microfighters (I got another #75075, and two #75126, I hadn't seen them in stock, for $5 each), some of the LEGO sets geared towards girls (which I am tempted to get), and the #75093 Death Star Final Duel still (about seven in stock) at $59 each, which I think it's still too high for that set (I want the minifigures, but $59 is wayyyy too much).
  • starwars4everstarwars4ever Member Posts: 489
Actually The Death Star Final Duel is, in my opinion, completely worth $59. It is bigger in person, a great display model, and has amazing minifigures. Those are just my thoughts, but I recommend you get it before they are all gone at that price.

I guess I'll bite today (I'm almost sure there will be some left). I had promised not to spend money on another big set, but I guess I can splurge for this one. I'm sure it'll be great to photograph.

The reason I did not get it yesterday it's because at Walmart it's only $4 cheaper than Amazon.
  • CaptainRogersCaptainRogers Member Posts: 869
My Walmart moved some clearance sets to their own aisle, including the new Ghostbusters set. While it had a sticker for normal price yesterday, today it is marked down to $49.
  • ryjayryjay Member Posts: 1,006
Walmart.com has some deals right now,  #75094 is $76.98.  Also shows advent calendars, are these the new ones, Friends #41131?  It is up for sale now.

I've seen the Space Port #60080 at $59 and #60079 at $35...very tempted but I don't see much appeal for them; I think they're not gonna 'fit' with the city I want to build.
  • DavidBrickleyDavidBrickley Member Posts: 375
There's still the odd find about... I found a #75126 first order Snowspeeder Micro for $2 and a #75101 Tie fighter for $15 yesterday in Central VA.

I would love a spaceport (or two) for 59, but everywhere I look either they were grabbed/not there or not on sale. Again another reason why I just gave up trying to go out to multiple stores and look for bargains as I was likely losing money because I found nothing but used gas to go looking.

I honestly think it's a cool set but I do not find it that appealing.

^ I really like the spaceport set, though I only built the shuttle, rockets and transporter. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is the orange used in the rocket part, it's just a dull boring colour
