In other words, drive East from Seattle and keep hitting WalMarts between Yakima and Minneapolis. I'm sure you'll find some dirt cheap deals.
I know there aren't many in the Bay Area.
my googling tells me that word has something to do with foolish rich people
I only got Kylo's shuttle because the First Order and Resistance Transporters don't appeal to me, but if they were 75% off (something that doesn't seem far off considering past deals withing the past few weeks), I'll give them a try.
60080 - Spaceport $59
70737 - Ninjago Mech Battle $30
70735 - Ninjago Ronin R.E.X. $25
And a random Airjitzu set for $5
They all had old clearance tags, but the app showed the new pricing.
So I'll hit up Story (SJ) and Milpitas. Not expecting much though!
Gikroy Garlic fest makes for nasty traffic during an otherwise busy weekend.
are you a member of BayLUG?
I went to five different Walmarts and some of them had no LEGO sets at any discounts (I checked the prices on the price checker, which in some stores is difficult to find). I felt extremely tempted to get the Police Station but realized that I wanted the fire station more, which was not on sale.
Again, I'm wondering if some of these sets will go on 75% off in a few days.
I ~wanted~ the Master Wu's Dragon, but while the app said they were in stock, they were decidedly not. And while the app said this store had Elsa's Ice Castle for $5, they definitely did not. But, they had
#41055 Cinderella's Romantic Castle $35
#41094 Heartlake Lighthouse $19
#41077 Aira's Pegasus Sleigh $9
Which I handily gathered into my cart. They also had Pop Star sets for half off, but meh. The "boy" lego aisle had scant discounts. Aside from my missing Master Wu. :|
Deep Sea Exploration
Cinderella's Romantic Castle
Emma's House
Elves Treehouse Hideaway
Elves Secret Marketplace
I really had hoped to find Jurrasic at 1/2, but no. I also wanted the pop star bus at 1/2, but no luck either,
Discard the boxes and the bags will be easy to pack.
Went up to a super rural store to finally find my Master Wu Dragon #70734 for 19.00.
Nothing else of note on clearance, but the toy department was minuscule. The "girl" aisle was a collection of maybe a dozen different sets. Nothing good.
I like some "girl" LEGO too. Pop Star reminds me of my Lady Gaga phase, a few other sets also appeal to me, and I get some minidolls to populate my scenes. They're also worth considering for parting out, maybe because of rare colors and molds.
I just got 3 #41176 The Elves' Secret Marketplace. Ironically, saw 4 last time, and had more than enough money for that. I decided to not get another set (3+1 or 2+2), and didn't want to use several dollars in coins.
I got a Master Wu for $30 a couple weeks ago.
Both LEGO aisles at the WM near me had lots of clearance.
I got 41120 at Target for $8, reminded me of summer camp (ironically, a Boy Scout camp). The hedgehog and chair seemed unrelated; I put the hedgehog with other animals and BrickLinked the other parts.
I've done that to bike home from a store; but I often get creative in carrying the sealed boxes.
Yeah, other brands are often shelved in the same part of a store and stuff sometimes gets moved from section to section.
