In regard to SW sets, in members' experience, are WM stores likely to have generally more discounted sets prior to the roll-out of summer sets on June 1st?  If so, how early will discounting appear?  2 months? 2 weeks?

I returned a Kylo Ren Shuttle for the full price, but it came up as $59 on her monitor. At the end of the return I told the lady that I would actually keep it if I could buy it at that price and she let me buy it back right there, with the store credit she had just given me. YMMV for sure!

Does that mean these have sold or are selling at that price at certain Walmarts?

Walmart has the UCS Tie Fighter for $168.  Price shows up in cart.  About $180 with tax.  Still not sure it's worth buying at this price.  Thoughts from anyone who owns it?

dang that is tempting. I had convinced myself I wouldn't buy this one...

^Thanks for the heads up and it's a good enough deal for me at that price :)
  • monstblitzmonstblitz Member Posts: 653
I pulled the trigger.  I better get my tax return soon or I'll be in the poor house...

I should also point out I found this on Slick Deals and it's been on the front page for last hour or so.  I expect it will sell out quickly.

The Slick Deals effect is real.

Jump on it or regret not doing so.

Thanks for the link, though @monstblitz did mention this deal earlier as well.
Still available which tells me that either they have a ton of them, or not many think this is a good enough buy for these..
    Im on the fence personally.

Just wait until it shows up on your doorstep with just a shipping label slapped on the side with no box

Oops, missed that, sorry about that @monstblitz.

For me I will have to pass, with tax it brings it up to $182 for me. I would rather wait for the next double VIP points to save $20 along with some kind of polybag/promotion.

No worries, I was too lazy to put the link so your post was helpful to others I'm sure!

Last night, Walmart had the Dimensions Jurassic World and Scooby Doo Team packs for $10 and the Simpsons and Portal Level packs for $15 online. Scooby is back to regular price but the other deals are still there.

That would match Amazon's $9.96 for the JP.
simpsons and portal match BB or Target?

Anyone received their UCS Tie Fighter from WM yet?  I received an email on the 23rd saying FedEx has received the shipping notice....but still hasn't been shipped.
  • floridabrickfloridabrick Member Posts: 158
Yep.  Got the 3 I ordered earlier this week.  Tuesday?  They even left 2 of them in their original Lego outer box, which I have not seen before.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
@scotty12 Yes, earlier this week too. I feel like it was a longer than usual time between notice and delivery. Can you track it?

Yeah, Walmart does that (at least they did that when I bought a #10195 oh so long ago).

Got my TIE via ship to store.  Was left in shipping box, so no damage.

^ my last ship to store came in a shipping box as well. Still had an annoying tracking sticker on the actual Lego box though.  :(
  • MugenPowerMugenPower Member Posts: 631

I was afraid of getting one where they put the shipping sticker directly on the product box.  Seeing how that wasn't the case for a lot of you guys makes me wish I took the risk of ordering one.

Believe me the shipping sticker on the box is the least of your issues. You can likely use a hair dryer on 'hot' setting to peel the sticker off without damage. However, you cannot use a hair dryer to remove dents, dings, and possibly holes caused by the travel of the set box being unprotected with a shipping box thru shipping.

I figured that came with the territory of having a shipping label slapped on the actual product box...

Actually they have like warehouse shipping barcode stickers they sometimes slap on the box and they have shipping labels they put on the boxes.

Yes...I received the tracking number the 23rd...with a anticipated ship date of the 24th....right after my purchase...yet it still sits in Kentucky.

@scotty12 that does sound like something has gone wrong, it might be a good idea to call.
  • beachbumbeachbum Member Posts: 33
generally, should i keep the lego boxes? what do people do with them? sounds like alot of folks are concern about the condition of preserving the boxesm
  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 981
^A lot of value is in the sealed box. Sometimes you can get money for just the box in good condition for some collectors.

Lately I've discarded most boxes, except for the big exclusives.

Called WM today to figure out why I haven't received my Tie Fighter yet or at least figure out why I received shipping notices pn the 23rd but it hasn't left the facility yet....they of course had no idea..but the customer rep. guy on the phone told me that it's suppose to arrive March 31rst.  I had to break it to him that today is April 5th. and I hope he wasn't referring to March of 2017.  He wasn't getting it.  So after cancelling my other order, starting another order and spending 45+min on the phone, for the inconvenience/delays he gave me a 5% refund....which ended up being $9.  Aghh Walmart.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
@scotty12 fingers crossed that it comes this time.

    "Wasn't getting it?" ... how...
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 830

^ I guess he wasn't putting 2 +2=4 together....he told me my package should arrive March 31rst.  I paused asking myself "is he serious", and told him "but it's April...I hope you're not referring to March of 2017."  He didn't respond and then just asked my phone number again.

Normally I wouldn't complain yet...but it was purchased the 22nd..."shipped" email the 24th...and I paid for 'expedited' shipping so it would arrive 3 days later.  But yet according to the tracking number provided it hasn't even left Kentucky yet.

  • DedgeckoDedgecko Member Posts: 798
Ugh!  Did you at least get your expedited shipping refunded?  Does the carrier have the package?!  E.g. Lost/obliterated mid-transit? Or does it still show in Walmart's possession?
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 830

^Nope...never got expedited shipping refund, his reasoning was he was going to get another order out right away.....and he said he couldn't do that anyway.  I have no idea who has the package.  Shipping info was sent to FedEx and I received a tracking number...but nothing has happened in 2 weeks.  I was supposed to get another tracking number with my new order confirmation email...it's been 2 days now and I haven't gotten that either.  At least WM is consistent about sending me emails asking me to give feedback/rate the product...I received 3 of those....but no product.  Oh Walmart....go figure.

I am not a big fan of Walmart. Lines are usually too long, items are just thrown everywhere, and the customer service is pretty horrible, but hot darn I just picked up 3x #75105 for $35 each and 2x #60080 for $30/each.

Found a couple #75104 for 50% off at a smaller Walmart (thanks to Brickseek).  They were with all the rest of the Lego and did not have any clearance stickers on them.

I swear these Walmart deals have to be a hoax to get the rest of us spun up.  Where and how are any of you finding these sets at those pricesf?
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
Not a hoax, but definitely YMMV. most Wal-Mart clearance seems to be done for now, but you never know.
  • monstblitzmonstblitz Member Posts: 653
Yeah I know they exist I just never find them and I'm bitter.  Lol

Brickseek is an excellent tool, though Walmart's inventory can be pretty terrible.  Ymmv is definitely in play here.

My local TRU price matched 75104 at 50% off.  Just had to show them the price on Brick Seek inventory checker.  I have no luck finding these sales, but thanks to the friendly folks at my TRU I was able to make my own luck!
