Targets (and Walmarts) in my area simply don't seem to do progressive markdowns. It's never more than 20-25%. Which is fine and all if it's actually a set that you've been wanting, but not enough to make me impulse buy or anything like that.

Just got back from Target in Meyerland (tx) no sales or deals but a lot of 2015 sets were out and I found one Target exclusive minifig cube for $15, bought it since I missed it as a freebie.

Super jealous of your guys finds. My 2 local Targets have nothing below 15% off, and nothing particularly exciting.

I found Benny's ship for $69 at a Shopko. Not sure if you have that store where you live. We bought 2 of them, they had more

Today at target, we got Star Wars 75003 for $2. Mine craft 21102 micro world for $8 , 31011 aviation adventures for $4. Hard to believe but it's true. Also found the first series 13 mini figs to hit the shells, just about wiped out already. I grabbed 17 of them. Ended up with 10 of the series and some doubles.

Have not seen series 13 at a Target yet, but was looking for a few series 12 to get for a friends daughter for a present. A super Target by me had no series 12 left (Heard from an employee: 'we got a bunch returned (ie cherry picker) and they flew off of the shelves'. But went to another Target ('regular' Target) about 5-10 minutes away and they had about 10 boxes of series 12 sitting there, all looked filled and apparently were not cherry picked (as I found a Wizard, Princess, Jester, and Genie). Sadly for 3.99, but I needed them for tomorrow so what can you do?
After Seeing series 12 sitting at a Target still I'm not concerned about getting a complete set of series 13 when it comes out.

I'm sure there will be plenty of 13s to come. We have a lot of series 12 around here and even more Simpsons. One store I know of has 9 full boxes of Simpsons sitting on the shelf.
I'm waiting for them to go on close out. I've found series 12 for $2.49 each. The price goes up and down. I only have seen one hanging display of the 13s, it was about cleaned out. I grabbed 17 and a guy behind me grabbed the remaining 6. No unicorn, cyclops, goblin,, squid face guy, cowboy or hot dog guy

Found #70146 flying Phoenix Fire temple for 50% off at target.

Thanks for the tip! Scored the same deal tonight!

Nice. Care to brag about any of them? I need to check our store out to see if anything has shown up there.

There is a brag thread for that. IMO asking for people to start bragging in other threads tends to kick up dust about hoarders and reselling.

Do they put the returns in the normal lego area?

#Kralaskan I think his comment was in response the the list of sets he already mentioned finding. Looks like some pretty awesome finds!

I was just standing there and a lady was putting them back on the shelf with red discounted tags on them. It said as is. The mine craft set i would trade or sell as we are not into that, the wife is building the aviation set and my 7 year old built the Star Wars set last night. Nothing wrong with any of them, all intact, unopened and nothing missing. Looked again today at 3 stores and found no more deals. No series 13 either. The girl there said she though another huge clearance sale was coming after the new year.
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
Saw some marked down sets at wallmart, bunch of toys moved out into a center isle. Also saw some deals at Kmart. They has some new superheros and lego movie sets. Did t buy any, I will wait until they get marked down 1 more time.

I got that impression too, when I stopped by Target today. Usually my Target shrinks their entire toy section during most of the year, and they had a fair amount of stock on the shelves. They'll have to pair it down, esp with 2015 sets coming in...

Today nothing really on sale, found a end cap box of series 13 being set out. Bought 17 more at target. Bought a full case of 13s at wallmart, found a case of series 11 at wallmart and bought 13 more series 13 at another WM

I found a handful of Chima polybags leftover in the holiday section 70% off. They also had a bunch of the Duplo apples for 70% off, but I only bought a couple.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
The Targets around me RARELY have anything on sale anymore (After the Pharoah's Quest line fiasco where they had tons of the Pyramid sets for 50 dollars- though now that sounds like a good deal considering what they go for now). I think as a result of that the Target's by me have wised up and not had a ton of stock on things (at least the larger sets that they seem to carry less of to ensure they do not have to clearance those). To be honest, as good as deals may be, I do not need anymore small and medium boxed sets anymore. I can barely part out what I have, and the secondary market can be OK if you wait forever (as everyone is finding those deals as well)

stuff at my target was more like 20-30% off. mostly Chima

My Target actually had some of the new sets out for the wrong prices. The new Darkside set was out for 59.99 instead of 69.99. The Bandit hideaway set was also out for this price.

^One Target had the Darkseid set out at that price too, yet the other 2 Targets had it at actual MSRP. I bought it since it was an automatic 15% sale price on a brand new set, otherwise I planned on waiting until a better sale (or just buying the figures)...oh well.

I found (in Orlando) a few copies of the #31019 Forest Animals set on 12/26, and bought all of them. Interestingly, I found a #31021 Furry Creatures with a 50% off sticker from #31019 Forest Animals - I reported it to an employee, not sure if it was an error or part of one of "those" stories you hear about.

...the other discounts were no more than 15% off, and frequently of the same items that were 20% off at the LEGO store.

That's Target's price for the Darkseid Invasion set, it's even on the website.

WHAT! Outrageous, I just bought this set at the lego store thinking it was 60 then shocked to see on my receipt that it was 70. 55 would be the reasonable price for a nice piece to part ratio. Even with the exclusive figures and licensing I think 70 is too high. I think I'm gonna try and return it...

Look at the green lantern set, I think I paid $19.99 for it at target, $12.99 online
  • mrseatlemrseatle Member Posts: 410
Green Lantern looks unavailable now on the Target website, I would have ordered a couple at that price.

$60 is a lot easier to swallow than $70 for that set. But even though this is one of my favorite themes there's just no reason to buy the superhero stuff right when it comes out. It all goes on discount eventually.

I bought the Brainiac Attacks set from shop@home because it's a Target exclusive and probably won't go sale soon and I might as well get the VIP points and freebies. Same with the SW Anakin's Custom Starship(not sure where that's exclusive to).
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
Ok went to target today. They had 1 green lantern set. They honered the $12.99 online price.
Also went to TRU. They honered the target price of $59.99 for darkseid set.

A target near me had 32 boxes of series 12.

    At full price :(
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
Wow, I know its a bad idea to get sets when they first come out, but I used 15 VIP dollars and got the free flower cart too, which I'll try to sell to someone on ebay or something, so I considered that my discount. Had no idea Target would list them for lower than retail. I stopped by target on my way home from work and got the Darkseid set for 60 which I'm happy with.
  • CircleKCircleK Member Posts: 1,055
I was actually happy paying $60 for the Darseid set as well. I almost never buy immediately and usually wait for discounts of at least 25%. The Darkseid set just seemed like a fair value to me at that price though so I went ahead.

Yep, same here. It was rather amazing. Reproduced like gremlins overnight. What's stupid is that they were $2.99 for the longest time when there were only two picked over boxes.

Maybe this is why my Target was almost completely out of Lego......or maybe it was Christmas, who knows.

Congrats to anyone finding deals, finding good Lego on sale can be like finding gold on the sidewalk.

According to Brickseek there are no GLs around me. Really hoping Targets online price stays in place long enough for me to find one and get a match.
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
I found one, but they did do a $12.99 match without question

The silver linings here though are:
-Hope that I can find series 13 to complete a set later
-Hope LEGO learns the error of their ways making these 3.99 USD per pack (as they are currently trying to clear out series 12 by offering them for 2.98 per pack at LEGO and they are still in stock)

My fear though is that stores start buying less for a series or two if LEGO does not learn its lesson and it makes it hard to complete later sets.

I went back to my target today in MD. There weren't any new DC on the shelves although the inventory checker said they had some and I'd seen them a few days ago. I suspect they were pulled back. I hope others can take advantage of the price break.

I think green lantern is Store Item Number (DPCI): 204-00-0369

I believe that's the wrong code. It's the one on the product page on the web site, but it's probably really for a $12.99 set, and not the Green Lantern set. You may be able to enter that code on a scanner in the store and see what pops up.
  • Bosstone100Bosstone100 Member Posts: 1,431
I don't understand what is going on with these items. All of my area Target store show four GL sets and three Darkseid sets yet know one knows where the hell they are. It's very aggravating.
  • hoyatableshoyatables Member Posts: 873
I had to do a little digging but got mine, first store showed three available, but none actually there. A very helpful employee tracked down one available at another nearby store which put it on hold for me. When I I went to pick it up it rang up at 19.99, I mentioned the online price and the cashier discounted it without even double checking the price. Worth it.

^ Did you have to give them a Dcpi number for them to find or just give them a product description? Was the 204-00-0369 the right one?
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
I had a pic of the website showing the price. No questions asked after that. Also got the police cycle chase and metal beards set cheaper as per the website
