Also the Museum Break In was marked down to $30.
#31019 (Forest Animals) $9.98 (50%)
#31021 (Furry Creatures) $16.98 (15%)
#79015 (Witch King Battle) $7.48 (50%)
#79016 (Lake town #2) $20.98 (33%)
They also had all the SW Micro fighters on sale, a couple Lego Movie sets, some Hero Factory and Chima on clearance. No Superheros though...
I did not stay to find out what happened after that :).
No, that means we don't get 50% off of lowest marked price, but regular price. He talked on communicator to someone else. "They want all Lego for 50%" No we want Lego with Clearance tags 50% off. Finally we were given 35% more after 15%, which he said would be equal to 50%. No it isn't, but close enough. We didn't think explaining the math was worth the further effort. If you don't mean 50% Toy Clearance, don't put an ad in the paper saying 50% Toy Clearance. If you mean only items in picture, say "applies to items pictured only." If you mean "up to 50%", say "up to 50%." But you don't want to put those things in the ad, because then I would not bother going to your store. Play fair and I won't stand in your check out line "making trouble."
Not a good leg to stand on. But a good enough leg for those that wish to circumvent purchase limits, coupon restrictions, and such.
But a "up to 50 percent off" would be better in the ad, but you don't have to put in anything if it is just a regular clearance.
It was very misleading and I think intentional to bring traffic to their stores rather than their competition. OPEN at 7:00 AM -SALE 50 % TOY CLEARANCE.
My newspaper print ad says -
50% off Toy Clearance
"Clearance quantities limited; no rainchecks. Intermediate markdowns may have been taken. Previously purchased merchandise, now on clearance, is not eligible for price adjustment." There is extemely small print on bottom of page about Red Card discount. The verbage you quoted is not there.
