These look superb to me, exactly what I wanted from the Avengers Age of Ultron line.

Wow, these looks great! That new Hulk fig is incredible. Love the brick-built Hulkbuster. And the minifigs all seem to be improved over their previous versions.

    Thanks for posting these!

Nice to see an olive green Hulk in a fairly inexpensive set :o)

Neato. Wish there weren't so many redundant figs. Stark tower kind of sucks. The new Quinjet is cool.

Nice to see that Hulk will be sporting the classic purples in the next film! Sets look pretty good me.

*Edit* I'm not really feeling the Hulkbuster tho...

I don't like the Vision fig at all. Honestly, the DC stuff looks better but I'm not a big of movie sets. Not gonna stop me from buying however.

okay after having the opportunity to look at them for awhile....I like Avengers tower and the new quinjet.....other sets are okay... not a fan of the new hulk

Well, unsurprisingly, the twins are in separate sets-which happen to be two of the weaker sets of the wave. I'll still end up collecting all of them, though.

20 unique figures all together, and Hulk and the Hulkbuster. I'll be so broke come April.

I can't wait to get these.

Love the Hulks new hair! Brick built Hulkbuster is much better than the game-based bigfig doing the rounds.
    Quite like Avengers tower.
Does the battle pack really have three ultron goons? I only see two in the picture.
  • matticus_bricksmatticus_bricks Member Posts: 651
@Kevin_Hyatt‌ There's another Ultron guy on the wing, he's a little hard to see. I guess they both can attach to the vehicle.

Isn't a bit weird there is 3 different ultrons?

And 4 different Iron Men, and two of the same Hulk in the same wave? Lego sure is going all out!
  • EddieDoesntMindEddieDoesntMind Member Posts: 329
Also, I'm sure it says MK 45 for 76029.

Definitely agreed. I'm a little disappointed in the quality of both the sets and new Avengers minifigs. There's something funny about the new Captain America figure; I think it has to do with his face looking a bit more squished than usual. The Iron Man helmet in 76029 is so cluttered it looks like a jigsaw puzzle and its kind of lazy of Lego not to get a new head mold for Vision. DC is overall looking a whole lot cooler than Marvel next year, hopefully the non-movie Marvel sets will show some promise.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,703
Nice to see many figures with detailed printing besides the Hulkbuster and the actual builds in the sets which are not cool. I do understand it's hard to copy something from a movie but these just don't look right. (Guardians of the Galaxy and and Avengers sets were better overall) I will probably get these just for the figures when I see a decent sale. Nice to see different variants of Iron Man and Ultron's. I will defiantly get the UCS Helicarrier instead of this whole wave. (Marcos Bessa does disappoint right)

I didn't notice the new helmet style at first, but it does look a bit odd. On the other hand, how cool are the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver figs? Not old school comic versions, but still nice to have in Lego form.

I don't want to post spoilers but there's good reason to multiple Ultrons.

I'm fairly happy with this wave overall. It's a shame they've put Black Widow piloting the jet when in the trailer it's her on the bike...i suspect this was to avoid adding a generic pilot minifigure, which is kind of ridiculous when you consider how many people buy sets just for the figures.
Reserving judgement until I've seen the film and have some sets in hand, but looking forward to Hulkbuster (yes the scale looks off but that was to be expected) most with quintjet second.

Overall next years DC sets are more enticing, but I think that's most likely due to probably licence restraints on the Marvel wave. If the rumours about an Antman set or two are true I look forward to seeing those.

Oh and for those complaining about the lack of helicarrier, look through the rest of the catalogue...it's not surprising that it isn't there, and it's absence does not mean it's not coming.

Kind of hard to see the differences in Ultron figures.

    All of them. Day 1.
My 'wait for a discount' doesn't apply to Marvel.
    ..or DC.
    ..or UCS.
    ..or Modulars.

Ok, so it only applies to Hobbit. Nevermind.

I have to say I find these boring at best
    There isn't one set I see as a must-have
And I'm a giant Marvel fan

The Tower looks far too minuscule to be at all impressive. The box art makes it look far bigger then it really is. Maybe if you had 3 sets to put them together it would be different.

The Hydra sets don't seem to offer anything special at all- a couple uninspired vehicles and a wall? Pass!

And do we really need yet another Iron Man or Thor or Captain America or really most of these included characters. I understand they are the heroes of the film and most of these sets are clearly centered around being sold for the figs, but I'm so over getting the same characters over and over and over and over.

Here's to hoping we'll get some decent Antman sets or...gasp...perhaps some from the actual comics because I can't see dropping cash on anything here

Sorry to hate but DC is winning this round for sure

  • SolariousSolarious Member Posts: 317
Also, anyone else notice that one of Iron Man's presumably Skynetted drones is carrying the Mind Stone Staff?

I think there are more spoilers here then you would think

What exactly would happen if the Staff was used on an already established AI unit (Jarvis)?
I think we already know the answer

It's pretty tall for a retail set. Without the antenna, it's 31 bricks, which is just under 12". That's taller than Pet Shop, about the height of Parisian Restaurant.
  • SolariousSolarious Member Posts: 317
    It's not the height really
It just looks tiny in comparison to minifig scale

Sitting anywhere near another building would make it look even like it should be a building off in the distance

Honestly, of all of them this is what I would buy
But it's going to have to be when they go on deep discount so that I can get at least 2
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,703
Guys, the Avengers Tower is smaller/shorter to keep the price low. Yes LEGO allow you to extend it yourself if you so desire (It's LEGO after all right?) From a marketing stand point making the price low as possible is the best option as it allows more customers to to have access and purchase it (more sales.) If the tower was all the same below it wouldn't be as exciting and be a very repetitive. We have seen similar examples in LEGO sets such as the Malibu Mansion and other large structures and landscapes in film (it's not the first time.)

The Malibu Mansion was totally unable to be salvaged IMO, but the Avengers Tower looks quite good to me. Buying one with and one without figures should make it possible to make a more impressive MOC, but even as it stands it seems very modernist and striking.

The other set that looks good to me is the Quinjet, but since I bought the previous incarnation I may have to give this one a pass (or buy it without figures too). Super Heroes is not my major Lego interest, after all. (I know, heresy!)
  • dannyrwwdannyrww Member Posts: 1,394
I like the tower...it looks nice but is at a small scale...I could get it (and I am running out of room)

As a huge fan of the movies, I can say that I am really looking forward to these sets. I agree with Legopassion8, I wish there was a Winter Soldier minifig
  • GIR3691GIR3691 Member Posts: 674
#76029 has you remove the minifig legs before attaching them to the glider. That's odd.
  • carlqcarlq Member Posts: 792
^ Not at all. In his fist ever story, Ultron-5 (as he was known) had no legs, only a flying platform for a lower portion of his body. This appears to be a homage to that part of his history.

Yes I still have hope on that one too, for release by promo poly.

But the time window for Iron Patriot between movie release (Iron Man 3) to game (Marvel SH) was a gap of only 4 months (May - Oct). And for Electro poly it was the same gap between movie release (ASM2) and Virginia Kidsfest promo of 4 months (May - Oct). Rocket Raccoon was only 3 month gap from movie to promo (Aug - Nov), but even less if you consider the SDCC version.

So we are now well outside of the typical time frame for a promo poly of the Winter Soldier if it were based on CA2, thus making it more unlikely to come via promo poly with each passing day.

I like these sets, I don't know how you could make sets on Avengers 2 without "reusing characters" so I don't know why people are complaining.
My only complaint, which I should keep until I see a more clear picture, is that Captain America's face does seem squished.

I can't speak for "everyone" but I know I'm complaining because...

    A) For the cost of a licensed set that essentially centers around the figs (otherwise it's just a car or a tower that could be found in City or something) I don't want to buy the same figures over and over. I don't personally care if they have some new, slightly different printing
If I were to buy all of these sets I would personally have 4 Captain Americas, 4 Thors, and 8 or 9 IronMans

    B) there are thousands of characters in the Marvel Universe that could be made before IronMan mk 4000

    C) The "well maybe it's only in their license to do movies" argument was pretty much thrown out the window when they did comic based X-Men sets

    D) Sure there could be Civil War sets in the next couple of years but guess what that gets us? More Captain America and Iron Man
    Awesome

I'm not trying to shit on anybody's enjoyment here but that's why I won't be dropping any money on any of these sets- at least til they hit sale numbers anyway. There are just too many other cool, original sets out there. And frankly, if this trend continues I won't be buying any Marvel sets and be forced to do the unthinkable and switch over to DC. Sure there are 100 Batmans (Batmen?) but at least they bother to dump him into different costumes

I'm a HUGE comic book guy and I find myself agreeing with Solarious. Having a bunch of the same minifigures isn't appealing to me unless the set pieces are worth the price and other than the Hulkbuster I'm not blown away with these to be honest.
