Hit up a couple TRU's today and there was quite a bit of decent stuff on clearance. YMMV. One store had Scooby and JW 20% off which did make them a little less then MSRP.

Apparently the chicken suit guy has a different head stud. Blocked open vs recessed. So if you are a purist CMF collector, you'll need the correct one.

Yeah, but does it really take away from the CMF? Is the facial expression the same? Is the torso and legs still looking like a chicken suit?

I guess you will always have 'purists' but I'm guessing the majority of those looking for a chicken suit guy will not care even if there is what really is a minor difference reported (especially when the CMF was going for 20-30 USD)

Of course many may not care. But this will introduce a big price difference for the two heads.  No doubt many won't care but when people are looking back in five years time questioning why one minifig has a different type head, the complete sets that some people thought they had will not be complete.

My wife received an electronic coupon for 10% off any toy at TRU in-store only, of which LEGO was not excluded. Slave 1 happened to be put on the shelf at the local store at retail, so I used it on that, no problems!

I got a coupon for 15% off,same as above but there aren't any Hard to Find items available in stores near me.It's going to be a challenge to find something to use the coupon on that isn't already marked up/worth it

When you print out the coupon there is a number under the barcode which I assume is somehow related to the account.I would be hesitant to pass it out due to this.

Yeah I hear ya MrJ, this might be a 1-time use coupon but I'm not a regular TRU shopper so not sure on that. What I was hoping for was the kind that @shpadoinkle helped with back in December which was 20% off and multiple use. That would go nicely with the $100 for $85 GC link you provided.

I believe the 20% off coupon had a "Friends & Family" share me type wording included.

I only shop there for the selection,then make them price match to cheapest I find online,plus they had Double Rewards points & 20% off certain sets last week.

@BrickDancerMy wife says that coupon was emailed to her account. It did have a specific number on it and our TRU Rewards number and said on the coupon that it had to "be surrendered at time of use" or something like that, so it's gone. I just wanted to make sure others paid attention so they don't miss the coupon if it comes to them.

You can locate the Chicken Suit guy in a store near you now. Not available on ship to home again, though...

I have over 5 stores within 50 miles of me, and none of them have anything... If anyone wants to snag me one and ship it (sans the strange box) for cost, let me know!

Haha- I went to customer service and they typed in a code from the website (I had the product page up on my phone). He was even able to tell me the only store in the state that had it in stock. The code he typed was 648866.

Wow, well either the online system is showing stores are sold out when they are not OR they really did not get many of these in each store (which would not surprise me, they take up a lot more space than a poly, and with no wrapping around them Im guessing they will be prone to theft). I though it was some kind of promo, but I did not see anything in their ad this week (unless that was just in the UK).
It would be surprising that these are gone before a TRU promo with how tightly they held onto the Hulk polys and stormtrooper polys (but not unheard of if TRU erred and made them available for purchase before their promo date)

I received my chicken suit guy yesterday in the mail which surprised me because my order status still says "item located in warehouse". My local TRU (Jefferson Valley, NY) had some in the store at the very end of a shelf with some elves sets, even though the online stock said out of stock.

Thanks for posting!  Noticed my TRU had fire sets on sale for 20% of so paired with this got a decent deal on the Fire Station.  My son has been wanting a Lego fire truck for a long time so this will make his birthday.

There was a $50 for $40 (20%) gift card deal on eBay just a week or two ago.

Found a bunch of chicken suits at Fredericksburg, VA TRU. Probably at least a dozen or so left.

I hunted down a TRU that carries the 75060 UCS Slave I and used my 15% off coupon then paid the balance in 15% off giftcards,total after tax was $155.86

How did you find a TRU that had one?  Online searching, or did you have to just physically go store to store?  It's not even listed on their website that I can see.

@monstblitz No it isn't listed on the website.There are 4 TRU within 25 miles of me and I happened to find it at the one I least visit while making my rounds.I haven't seen it at any of the other TRU near me.Evem more surprising was they didn't have the price jacked up,shelf tag was $199.99 so I think you'll have to put it some footwork to find the locations that carry them.I only saw the one on the shelf,don't know if they had more.It's still a nice discount on them if you use the discounted Giftcards to pay but my 15% off coupon took it over the top

I used to do this at the TRU in Time Sq. They carried a lot of the exclusives, including the Sandcrawler and Helicarrier at MSRP. I was sad to see it close down at the end of last year.

What do you mean?  What LEGO promotion did you qualify for?  A coupon or discount gift card isnt a LEGO promotion.  Your own info confirms limited availability.

I didn't qualify for a Lego promotion I was merely pointing out the fact they don't discount Hard to Find/Exclusive items and I was able to purchase one at a discount using a coupon & reduced cost giftcards. Just sharing with the community,if you want to call it bragging knock yourself out.

I think it made sense-- a discount on an item you're typically hard-pressed to find a way to get a discount on is a good deal!

I'm trying to figure out what happened to my TRU Rewards account. I had one, but never got any benefits despite a bit of shopping. Hmm.

You made all those points regarding purchasing at less than msrp net-out-of-pocket in your informative first post.  That is cool and nice to share worth the community (rather than posting a vague "I got it 27% off msrp" comment.)  At this point,  the prohibition on sales of exclusives and hard-to-find is common knowledge. 

The second post is therefore simply bragging.

The same thing happened to me.  The default is they will "send" you your reward after you hit $5 worth of rewards.  It will be a discreet email that you might not even ever notice.  And if you don't use it by XX/XX/XXXX date, it becomes void.  It's a sneaky trick. When I found out what happened to my rewards I pitched a fit and they gave me $5 back.  But I lost at least $15 in rewards.  Now I have it set to where it is accumulating towards the highest reward ($200) and I'll make sure I'm paying attention when I get close to the mark.
