Plenty of Battlepods found at Concord Mills, NC TRU. Located in a bin near customer service desk.

I have to wait until 06/18 and see if any local TRUs still have the battle pod in stock so I can buy them individually instead of having to meet the GWP minimum buy.
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,831
^Worth at least calling the closest store to see if they are available for purchase. Toys R US in Milford, CT is selling them for $4.79 ($5.99 less the 20% Batman Movie promo), no other purchase required. I picked up 4 of them Wednesday night.

Just came back from my local TRU. Plenty of Batman pods left.

Got #70916 The Batwing (marked up to $94.99) priced match to their website ($71.99) and still got the pod for free.

The cashier was very friendly and warned me that with price match *sometimes* the free promos do not ring (which I already knew as it never did for me in the past)... it did!

So pleasant purchase experience... add a $10 rewards and the set came down to 31% off :-D

Now I have 5 pods... paid for only 1 (on purpose).

^^ Ditto.  All the TRUs in my area were sticklers to the buy $30 get pod free promo.  I had to wait for the promo to end to just buy outright.

I got an email from TRU stating 20% off entire purchase, including sale and clearance items.  Has anyone found any deals?  Expires tonight.

I got a few Amiibos and Marvel Avengers for the Wii U (as close to actual LEGO as the sale came).

Toys R Us website has 20% off all (but one) Minecraft sets as well as a lot of other sets right now, not sure when it ends, started yesterday. In store select sets are marked 20% off but they will match the web prices at register if you have your phone (Or you use the "Pick up at store" feature and order on line)
  • HanzoHanzo Member Posts: 607
They are running an extra 15% off clearance, grabbed a Chima 70227 King Crominus rescue for $27, I don't know anything about the series but it seemed like a good deal.
  • MynattMynatt Member Posts: 632
Not really any notable deals when I stopped by yesterday but they still had Batman Battle Pods in stock for $5.99.

Thebrickfan.com has confirmed that the #40268 R3-M2 are being spotted at TRUs for a August 26th street date for 5.99 per bag, but likely will be held closely by most TRUs in preparation for some kind of promo.
  • mh3490mh3490 Member Posts: 329
@Hanzo hey man don't get into that habit of it's a good deal and buy it that's how it started for a lot of us and then we ran into space and budget constraints lol

^ I've tightened up my definition of a good deal over the last several months. I'm trying really hard to resist anything just because it's on sale if I'm not really interested in it. If it gets down around 5 cents per piece though, it's really hard to say no. :)

That's kind of where I was with it, I mean interested in the set or not at a smidge over 3 cents a piece I just couldn't say no.

#21309 Saturn V Rocket now available, albeit at an inflated price of $134.99.

I'm still holding out for a deal on one of these, so it's kind of good to see another retailer get some stock in.
  • JooTogJooTog Member Posts: 945

#5004931 Birthday Card spotted. $5.99 for 20 pieces, are they nuts? Figured it would be half that.

  • tomahawkertomahawker Member Posts: 207
When you figure the average cost of a paper greeting card in the US is $5, this doesn't seem so out of line.  Of course to an AFOL looking at price per piece ratio, it's not very appealing.

A birthday card without LEGO pieces is $4-5. That's perfectly reasonable.
  • teal93mr2teal93mr2 Member Posts: 1,017
    No not reasonable.  Genius marketing...maybe.

I think so. It's hard to find Lego greeting cards, even the Lego drawn character ones.

    This fills that void.
  • MugenPowerMugenPower Member Posts: 638
I saw one in-store the other day.  IMO, it's kinda lame and doesn't work well as a greeting card.  As a party favor, I could see it being pretty neat.  At $6, not neat enough for me to buy, though.
  • teal93mr2teal93mr2 Member Posts: 1,017
^Agreed.  It's very tiny, not sure how much you could even write on there.  Might work for a party favor, but any old polybag is surely better.

I could agree with this statement if they were sold in Target or somewhere else that has the greeting card section (Remember the good old days for a couple of years when the Target holiday gift cards came with pieces?).  Not much of a card IMO when all you can really write on there is a name, there is no space on the back.

Yeah, it's a shame Target did away with the Lego Bullseye gift cards. Hexbugs and a wind-up Bullseye were no equivalent replacements.

If this had a lower price point, like $1.50, it'd definitely be a party favor or Halloween giveaway.

NYC TIMES SQUARE TOYS R US RETURNS!!

The store is now located at 1466 Broadway on the SE corner of Broadway and 6th Avenue.

I made a quick stop in to check out the Lego Shop on the second floor. It's nice but it no longer has the monstrous Lego displays (ie Empire State Building w/ King Kong). There is a life size statue of Rey and BB8 along with a few minifigure statues. I didn't see any NY themed sets or polybags but never say never.

Overall, the store is fun for kids with the PLAY theme throughout the store. It has LL, 1st and 2nd floors but the footprint is much smaller than the original location. If you're in the area then it may be worth a look. It is more like a TRU "Super" Express than a flagship store. So, don't expect to see a Ferris wheel.

#40268 R3-M2 free with any LEGO purchase of $30.
My local stores allows buying promos; this one goes for $5.99.
There were few left, so I only grabbed a couple... do not want to be THAT guy :-)

Has anyone gotten a reward lately that excludes using it to buy LEGO sets?
It also really sucks that all of the coupons lately have excluded LEGO as well.

NYC TIMES SQUARE TOYS R US RETURNS!!

Was just there on Sunday, wasn't too impressed but it is always fun to see a toy store.  They did have a lot of employees willing to help which is a good thing for a store consisting of 3 floors.  I liked the lego Stormtrooper.
  • elspankdogelspankdog Member Posts: 403
I was able to buy $30 worth of Ninjago CMF for 2 for $5 and got the R3-M2 for free.  You could also buy the R3-M2 for $5.99 by itself.

I was disappointed to learn that Rewards R Us dollars are no longer redeemable on LEGO construction toys. I will probably stop shopping there so much now.

  • elspankdogelspankdog Member Posts: 403
Wow, where did you see this information?  Lego isn't listed on the exclusion page...yet
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,482
It was in the fine print in the email they sent my Rewards Certificate in. When I went to use it at a store it took no money off of a LEGO set.
  • ChubblesChubbles Member Posts: 459
yea that would kill my interest in going there much anymore
  • ryjayryjay Member Posts: 1,004
yep, I just looked, too.  I have $15 in rewards dollars sent to my phone....first line of exclusions...."Lego construction sets".   Not buying much of anything so I'm guessing these will all expire unused...just as the last coupons did.
  • CaptainRogersCaptainRogers Member Posts: 869
^That's horrible. There goes my main reason to shop there. For TR U exclusives... Well, there's always the Lego store. Unless they stop letting us redeem VIP points for Lego as well! ;)

Well today I bought a set of the Ninjago CMFs and was told that they were not "construction" sets (not the first time it's happened, but sometimes I've still gotten the promo anyways). So I suppose the reverse argument would be trwue if you were buying polybags or CMFs with reward dollars? Gotta love the TRU consistency.
  • 77ncaachamps77ncaachamps Member Posts: 2,442
    LEGO is excluded...?

That kills one more place to buy Lego for me.
Won't do it unless I really find a great deal/exclusive.

    Trash...
  • AwesomenessAwesomeness Member Posts: 209
I have gotten the same before. I bought a duplo set for my son and to also get the free promo they ran at the time. But I guess duplo didn't count as an actual lego purchase to qualify.
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
There have been multiple reports of the rewards working on LEGO online so you can try that while it lasts.
