They are all over the place on this depending on what store/sales associate you get. Typically they resist stacking promotions with price matching in my experience along with what I have seen others report on this site over the years.

Power Miners also brought Bright Orange accents into the mix for functional elements (later replaced with Bright Blue in the 2010 sets). The new volcano research sets seem to be opting for Bright Yellow accents on those parts instead. Which is still a nice, high-visibility sort of color scheme.

Gosh, I loved Power Miners. A lot of AFOLs at the time seemed to feel like it paled in comparison to Rock Raiders from the 90s, but honestly it was so much better in so many ways! More realistic color schemes, more interesting functions, better monsters, and of course more elaborate builds. I had a lot of fun with those sets during my time at college!

I received my emails from TRU confirming my #30447 poly purchases and to goto my TRU account to follow the transaction/tracking at 6:30am....only 2 hours later I get "order cancellations" emails.   Ohhhh TRU.

I have gotten the promo item after price matching as long as the cost was still at the dollar amount required to qualify for the promo. YMMV
One of the Slave 1 I bought from TRU I used a 20% off coupon,discounted giftcards and was supposed to get a free Ninjago Airjitzu Flyer,they ran out of them so they deducted the 10.99 (price of the promo item) from my total,ended up paying 140-ish for UCS Slave 1

Wow, i've never heard of them deducting a dollar amount.  Did you have a gun with you, lol? The "while supply last" doesn't apply in your store at all, good for you.  

BTW, I think it says right on the 20% off coupon, nor valid with any other R us offer for same item, doesn't it?

The cashier had told me they were out of the flyer.I had already gotten one that week & didn't particularly care but as I was leaving I stopped by the customer service desk & mentioned to the manager that I didn't think it was right I got nothing.He gave me the option of coming back in a few days to see if they got any more Ninjago Flyers in their shipment or the credit. I told'm I can't be bothered coming back & forth to the store so I'll take the credit.
I believe it does mention not valid with other offers as I have another 20% off coupon that expires this Saturday,but who am I to point it out to them? I tried looking for my receipt to post but it's lost in the maze of boxes & bags in my storage area

Wow that's great they deducted money for their out of stock promo item. Great final price on that Slave 1.  

I picked up these Juniors sets with the 20% off Juniors they're running right now and received the free ninjago battle pack. These were $19.99 marked down to $15.99. I've been waiting for this Batman set.

For what it is worth, the clerk told me they cut the prices to move out the first series of stock in preparation for the second series to start coming in.  With Disney Infinity quitting and leaving the market. That only leaves dimensions and sky landers as the only two, toys to life on the market. I believe dimensions will be around for a few more years. 

Knoose - I would think this is the right time to pick up the portal pack. Stock will become fewer and fewer as time goes on and the chances of finding it much cheaper will become more and more difficult.

More like the end of series 1.  I suspect the first wave of series 2 is getting close.  Such sales have been common at other retailers since shortly after dimensions came out.  Team and level packs have not seen discounts lately which suggests that they are probably selling well.

Dimensions just got done destroying Infinity; it's not going away.

Granted, Infinity really destroyed itself with the inability to interact most characters/worlds and all the non-backward compatibility issues.

Any time you rehash a peripheral three times within three years and the figures can't work with any of the new iterations, the manufacturer is asking for declining sales.

That, and similar stories, reflect the write-down on the balance sheet for shutting down their game development division and not the actual sales figures of the individual product.

I'd like to see the sales figures - I am sure they outsold Skylanders, Amiibos and most other TTL.  They may have just not yielded the margins that they anticipated to cover future development costs.

Frankly, though, I think the telling blurb is that Disney is going back to licensing it's properties in the video game market to dedicated developers, rather than continuing to pay all of those developer costs.
