Accusing the poster for bragging with a tongue in cheek comment about getting a deal on a set you can rarely get deals on is a little extreme. I don't think anyone besides you took it as such. The rest of us appreciate tips on scoring hard to find sets at a discount.
And, ya, in the past they'd send your rewards as gift cards to be used whenever. Now with expiration dates I swear they will expire on dates right before new releases in toys. This has happened on lego items, amiibo, and with action figures....rewards expire on saturday, new realeses arrive on sunday!
@monstblitz Thanks for the heads up. I need to look into this. I feel like their account system needs to be integrated, because there are too many different accounts to sign in to during the check out process!
I feel so old when I realize I have no interest in a Twitter account.
Lady behind the counter fought me for a few mins saying it was a promotion, and not for purchase. She finally asked over the speaker and an other employee spent the next few mins trying to explain to her that it was not a promotion, just behind the counter to try and stop people from buying them all at once.
There are a couple of city items I will go pick up if it is instore only.
Another weird new thing is that you had to ask for the large Technic sets, with only a single copy on the floor with a sticker saying its a demo only. So the first trip yesterday I didn't see it and left empty handed. Went online to see if the next nearest TRU had it and saw it was supposed to be in stock at the store I was just at. So a quick call to CS desk and they pulled it from out back and had it ready for pickup.

I wonder how many I can use before I run out of different TRU cashiers to ring me out
They also had the promo for the free ATV set for purchases over $35 (which they only gave me after I asked about it) but I didn't notice that they had another sign for a free Ninjago Airjitzu set for purchases over $50 until I went back immediately after my purchase to see what else they had. The sign for the ATV promo said it ends tomorrow and the one for Ninjago starts today. I'm not sure what the Ninjago set is but I'd be more interested in the ATV anyway so didn't bother to try explaining to CS since things like this usually result in being told that I can only choose one.
I've since misplaced the receipt, so I can't answer the second one, but I believe that it showed up. The cashier had to ring it up.
@Dedgecko
Anyway, that same store had 2 Slave Is and I had my 20% off coupon so I got the one that had the least amount of shelf wear/damage. I lucked out because cashier handed me back my coupon after the transaction so I guess I'll get another use out of it.
All in all, despite the slight overcharge and the fact that the Technic set and the Slave I had more dents and creases in the boxes than I like, I can't argue with 20% off and free Ninjago sets. I'm only dreading the potential damage to the box of the incoming Technic set since it's a big one...
I loved the Ninjago spinners. Just be careful- my first not-so-hard spin sent mine straight into the second-floor ceiling...
And I got another free Ninjago Airjitzu (10.99)
