Thanks for the tips @waynegg . I did end up going back later & there weren't many packs left but I managed to find the SnakeCharmer, the snake is soft rubbery feeling similar to Spooky Girls hair in the Series 12 figures.I felt every pack that was left but all I found were doubles of my previous visit or some of my lesser desired figures which I still have plenty of time to find ;)

Fair warning: I picked up the Samurai Girl Sunday night and when I opened it there were stress marks on the upper front of her armor. I think this is due to me feeling the pack and pressing the, not too strong, plastic back.

It's not an issue for me, since I was just picking it up for my daughter to play with, but anyone who wants a mint version might want to take it easy on the packs.

@The_Mad_Vulcan‌ I remember this happening with the series 3 samurai, I was always scared every time I felt the armor in the pack, afraid I pressed it too hard, I was very gentle with that series cause I didn't wanna be responsible for those stress marks

FYI: For anyone purchasing at Target, the minifigure distribution from the endcap pack (120 count) is not the same as the counter pack (60 count). I found the distribution to be the following with 99.9% accuracy:

    6 Classic King
    7 Sheriff
    4 Unicorn
    10 Snake Charmer
    11 Goblin
    5 Paleontologist
    6 Alien Trooper
    7 Egyptian Warrior
    12 Carpenter
    8 Evil Wizard
    4 Fencer
    8 Samurai
    10 Disco Diva
    7 Hot Dog Man
    8 Lady Cyclops
    7 Galaxy Trooper

    Thoughts???

That's crap. That is my thought. Only 4 full sets from what should be 6 full sets. No good. Nice to see more hot dog guys though :)

The one I went through had 10 unicorn girls, 1 disco diva, 11 kings, and 3 hot dog guys. I think the distribution in the sidekicks is totally random.

Well aren't they restocked from regular boxes? If they've been restocked at all, you'll have no idea what the count is.

I saw they had them, but after seeing the price they want for a pre-order box ( roughly 3.83 USD per pack at the time I looked) I think I'll take my chances with Target/LEGO.
Prices are really going up for these everywhere, and hard to tell what is gouging vs how difficult it now is to get a 'cheap box'. It is a shame though as there are some nice figures I would like in this series.

I also think at 3.99 USD you are going to see more opened packs and stolen packs in general.

@Thanos75‌ As long as LEGO keeps putting at least one item per figure that's unique from the rest of those in the series I'll remain infallible. As far as questions from people who can't feel the difference between blind bags- I learned long ago it's almost impossible to convince someone who can't do something that someone else can. That said, I'm happy to give pointers on exactly what to feel for to make the job easier.

I ordered a box from minifiguresplus. For me it's a good price considering the average pack cost is less than MSRP, no tax, and no S&H charges. Also, I know what I get in each box plus I don't have to deal with looking for and feeling up the packs. That's time and gas money back in my pocket.

I am on the fence with ordering from minifiguresplus. I have before and they are a great seller. The last series was sold for <$200 though so I bit on a full case. I am not sure I want an entire case at $10 less than retail. May just get my set and extras and be done.

4 boxes is varying degree of emptiness at Walmart in Repentigny, QC. Felt up packages for like 10mins until we finally found the Egyptian warrior, the only one I wanted. :)

I'm new to the minifigures and was wondering if there was a way to tell what mini is in the package? Other than feeling the bag and guessing as to what one it is.

LEGO used to have unique codes on the back for each one, but long removed those because it assisted people cherry picking the ones that they wanted or the rares (but interestingly enough LEGO apparently does not mind those who feel each pack, possibly damaging parts, to figure it out)
There were also dimples on the bottom of packs as well, but the tried and true method is to feel the packs.

    To each their own.

IMO Shipping is never 'free' and often added to the cost overall to offset it. I estimate the cost is 3.83 USD per pack (my estimate only, not a fact, it may be more, may be less). And the saving of 5% sales tax (in my area) to me is not enough for me to buy a box of 60. If they were not easily available at every TRU, Target and Walmart by me I would consider it (as that is one reason why I have bought a box previously), but as series 12 are found everywhere now ( I can still find end caps filled with series 12 by me AND LEGO had to drop the price of series 12 to 2.98 USD a pack to move them). I think it actually saves me a lot of money if I only spend some time to feel for the packs I am looking for and buy a set and the extras I want in a store. As for Gas costs, I will likely find these in Target and do most of my shopping there anyway. At this point for me, better to not buy a box to have three sets and a bunch of spares lying around and will be no where near what it cost me per pack now.

For the record, I have purchased at minifiguresplus previously for many of the past series, and they always deliver them when they say and I have not had an issue. I just have a problem when series 12 (which is the same price per pack) was selling at 199.99 USD (if I remember correctly) from them, and now the price for series 13 has jumped to 229.99 USD. 30 dollars between two series that cost the same per pack? Maybe there is some rising unseen cost at the distributor level I am not seeing, but that seems to be a hefty increase IMO.

That combined with easier access, possible price drops at stores to 2.99 USD (or less) per pack, and also the notion of getting packs from LEGO at 2.99 per when they need to move them out, buying a box at that cost is too much for me at this point. I get there are those that may not be in my situation. Sales tax may be higher, and less places to find them, etc, etc and they may need to buy a box, but for me I only need a set and some extras I want (and Ill buy the extra accessories I want from BL or brickowl instead of trying to buy figures).

I just added up the cost of acquiring my collection and am a little shocked by the cost so far... 14 x 16 x $3 = $672. I guess I don't feel it when split over 4 years.

Went to Target today and asked if they could pull some minifigures from the back. She wanted to know how many I wanted and was very insistent that I had to buy them all when I asked for 10. She brought out 3 of Series 13 and said "that's all we have". LOL.
  • CircleKCircleK Member Posts: 1,055
My Target is hard core when it comes to street dates. They absolutely refuse to bring anything out early. I was pretty shocked to find a few of the 2015 superhero and Creator sets the other day. Must be a new hire.
  • margotmargot Member Posts: 2,308
I wouldn't have had any problem with her saying they couldn't sell until the 1st. The whole experience was very odd. I wasn't sure if she was totally clueless or knew exactly what she was doing.

Went to a bunch of stores yetserday and today, 3 targets. Found 1 box of figs series 13. It had been raided. I grabbed 17 of them. Left 6 i was sure we're duplitace. I ended up with 10 in the series. Went back to 3 targets today. Found no 13s. Found lots of 12s and Simpsons.

    It is weird.

Three Targets, a Walmart, and a TRU all had some of the new Lego 2015 releases but NO Series 13 minifigs. No display. Nothing.

I'll guess I just have to wait until tomorrow. lol

Saw a full end cap of 13s at target and ant 2 wallmarts We nailed a full end cap (120) then bought 30 more at another store. Also found 68 series 11 figs for $2.98 each
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
Found 13s at wallmarts and targets in Idaho. Have not seen any at Fred Meyer yet.
One of the stores has 12 boxes of Simpsons. Waiting for them to go on clearance.
We found a box of 11s yesterday and bought all of them (69) Bought a large case and then some of 13s, like 145

Found an End Cap display at Target today. I said Series 12 was it for me as far as collecting a full 16 is concerned and I stuck to it. I bought a few goblins, a few space marines, a king, and an evil wizard to set back for the kids and that was it. I still spent a lot thanks to $3.99 price tag though.

As I stood there feeling up the packs I was just... Bored with it. I think I'm over the whole CMF thing now which kind of sucks bc it has always been my favorite theme. I never thought they were good value before though and now I actually feel like they are straight a up rip off. I would rather see that money go into bricks. Unlucky Number 13 is probably it for me.

I do love that goblin fig though!

I somewhat agree with you @CircleK. I normally am the first one to get a crack at feeling cmf's when they come out at Target, because I'm the one there first thing and getting them pulled from the back. This time I went late in the day and they didn't have any and I didn't really care.

I was fortunate. I picked 16 random packs at the LEGO store and got 14 of the series, except for the Carpenter and the Hot dog guy.

Also, I'm not sure if anyone has put it out there, but does anyone have the rarity of the 60 pack box?
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
Not much sale stuff on sale around here, most wiped out. A few city and Chima sets for 12 percent off. Seeing the series 13 about everywhere now

WhiteFang over at EuroBricks posted this assortment for his 60 count box:

    4 Classic Kings
    4 Sheriffs
    3 Unicorn Girls
    4 Snake Charmers
    5 Goblins
    3 Paleontologists
    4 Alien Troopers
    4 Egyptian Warriors
    5 Carpenters
    4 Evil Wizards
    3 Fencers
    3 Samurai
    3 Disco Divas
    3 Hot Dog Men
    3 Lady Cyclops
    5 Galaxy Troopers

You're pretty fortunate on which two you are missing, as both are very easy to spot by feel. Though, Hot Dog Man is one of the two (with Unicorn Girl) that seems to get picked clean early from displays.

Yeah, I did not feel, just grabbed at packs, and impressed myself with that one (though the GF will probably wish I had felt for at least the unicorn girl as she wants one).
I have a Lottery ticket tonight as well, hoping good fortune rubbed off on that ticket.

    Thanks for the list!
The Hot dog guy and carpenters I'm not worried about, I actually want multiples of those carpenters. The Hot dog guy would be easy to feel for Id imagine, same with the carpenter's saw and 1x4 tile.

I bought and cap of 120 series 13 figs plus about 40 more. It was real light on fencer guys (4) palentoligist (4) and only 5 each of samurai, King, cowboy, cyclops and Egyptian
I have a lot of goblins, hot dog, unicorn, snake charmer, Galaxy trooper, disco chick, carpenters.
Now going to have to start feeling bags to fill in the gaps

Miss spelled "end cap" sorry, dam ipad auto correct and the text is small. I don't see as well as I used to. As far as the hot dog guy, I have 20 of them. The end cap of 120 plus others I bought were real light on palentoligist and fencer. I think I have 4 of each.
Fencer feel for the sword handle, palentoligist feel her hat and pony tail is attached to it.
King feel crown, samurai has a squishy coat thing, snake charmer the snake is flexable so easy find, cyclops point on helmet, goblin feel for curved point on his hat, evil wizzard has a wide triangle base, trooper a huge shoulder pad armor thing, carpenter the hat and hair or board, cowboy feel the hat, alien has round head with the octopus face or feel his round gun end, disco chick the hair or skates, Egyptian feel the shield or his hat, unicorn the head mask, hot dog guy very easy huge part.
