I thought series 12 was released a month late. Seemed like they wanted to give the Simpsons series more time to sell. Previously each series has been out for four months, often selling out in that fourth month.

I'm not impressed with Series 13. Seems like they just made female versions of previous Minifigures. I don't mind female Minifigures, but wish they were original ideas.

Wow!! I am super surprised by this series! Probably my favorite since series 2! So many army builders, love the new pieces. In fact, the ONLY figure I don't care for is the Disco dude, the rest are amazing. Favorite has got to be the king.

Out of interest @yys4u in what context are you going to deploy your army of Unicorn Girls?
Lmao, just for that comment I'll come up with something and post a picture for you in a few months time lol

To answer your last question @daveace21‌. I think there were just so popular. When Series 12 came out they were the top seller on [email protected] 25 days straight. The only reasons it stopped being they top seller was because the sold out.
  • Rolyat24Rolyat24 Member Posts: 41
To add on to @Andor, the reason they were so popular (just wild speculation here) was probably due to the fact that it was the first series in a while to be "normal" unlike TLM or the Simpsons. The good news about this, at least for me, is that now TLG knows we like the original, unlicensed lines of CMF just as much if not more than the licensed ones. Hopefully this means we'll continue to get a good mix of both.

As for Series 13, I really like what I'm seeing. My favorites have got to be the king and wizard, with the samurai and fencer close behind. That new cobra piece though just makes me tingle!

Fig distribution was posted. Looks like they got the army builders about right (except samurai). Hot Dog Man just got hotter.

    4 Sheriffs
    4 Snake Charmers
    4 Alien Troopers
    4 Egyptian Warriors
    4 Evil Wizards
    3 Unicorn Girls

    3 Fencers
    3 Samurai
    3 Disco Divas

Anyone check Target yet? The DPCI Search site was showing 200+ in the Issaquah, WA, and surrounding areas. But I'm not sure if that's still series 12 or 13. I haven't had a chance to get there. Maybe tomorrow morning...

That's an insane amount of CMF that were released two months ago and typically don't last at that specific location more than a week once put on display.

My Targets seem to have a lot of series 12. Hoping they go on clearance after Christmas. Just waiting now for @MinifiguresPlus to put series 13 boxes up on ebay.

    Dedgecko was right!

I saw that post and thought 'hey I live in the Issaquah, WA area.'

So I hit up my local Fred Meyer on the way home from work and got the Paleontologist and Alien Trooper.

Seems the US price has stayed at $3.99 and the European price has increased to 2.99 euro (from 2.49). Has anyone found the price the figures will be on sale in the UK. Do they stay at £2.49 or increase to £2.99.

    Thanks

May want to pick up a few cyclops if the hands are indeed sand blue. Exclusive hands have gone up in value in the past, especially blues like dark turquoise and medium blue.

My current favorites are the evil wizard, king and either carpenter or hot dog man. I also like the throwback to series 6 in the sheriff's wanted poster.
  • LegonizerLegonizer Member Posts: 39
Oh no, hot dog guys are rare! I always collect 1 of each minifig, so I'm not unfamiliar with the feeling of rubbing my fingertips raw from feeling for the rare minifigs, but this series that's the only one I wanted 2 of: one for me, and one for my boss (I work at a hot dog stand).

Anyone find these at Fred Meyer in the northwest U.S. yet, and could hook up a fellow Bricksetter (and his kids) before the big day?
  • wayneggwaynegg Member Posts: 394
The floating eye thing on the promotional flier got the best of me and I called customer service today in hopes of either confirming or dispelling a chase figure. After being told there was no official information available yet, the customer service guy said word for word "LEGO likes to occasionally include special surprises, so you never know what you may find!" Was this a soft confirmation?
  • Thanos75Thanos75 Member Posts: 1,120
If you look close at the new catalog that got posted you can find those " ninja eyes " floating on other pages aswell.

@waynegg‌ I think it has been confirmed somewhere that the "floating ninja eyes" (love this description!) indicate an alternate face. So the hotdog guy has two expressions. The only other time I've noticed F.N.E. is in the star wars set with the tuskan raider where the pilot has two faces. One with visor up and one with it down.

@Thanos75‌ do the other F.N.E. you have spotted correspond with mini-figs with two expressions?

A drawn tree on the duplo page has 2 faces?
  • Thanos75Thanos75 Member Posts: 1,120
If you look on the page in the catalog with the Creator 3 in 1 bike shop you can see the same eyes floating in the window.

OK, so after using the neat widget on Brickseek and seeing that a few stores near me had 500+ minifigures, I could not believe that they would carry so many Series 12 knowing that Series 13 was only 2 weeks away. So then I thought to call and ask for them not using the DCPI, but instead using the UPC (673419231510). According to the two or three stores called, they all claim to have them in stock. If anyone is looking for them, try that method. Good luck.

Those mysterious eyes can be found on many pages of the catalogue hidden somewhere and they have something to do with Ninjago theme, there seems to be some contest for kids about finding them all or just a little game - I have no idea, since I barely know German which was the language of the catalogue.
  • matticus_bricksmatticus_bricks Member Posts: 651
My Target has over 300 CMFs in stock. Last I was there, they just had a few rows of series 12 on pegs on an end cap. Is an early series 13 find likely in this case?
  • Ladder19JTKLadder19JTK Member Posts: 222
^ I would try. Make sure they are checking through the boxes in the stockroom too!

While everyone is looking for series 13, I found two new boxes of series 9 at Target yesterday.

Yes it's just a "Find them all" sort of thing. It says "it takes a ninja to spot a ninja".
So the F.N.E. turn out to be Flippin' Nothing Exciting.
