Do we know if there will be double points on Friday through [email protected]? I finally have the cash together to pick up the PC that's been on my list for awhile.
  • luckie_reubsluckie_reubs Member Posts: 299
I'm going to take my chances on some of those TLM sets being more than 20% off as we get closer to Christmas. I'd love to pick them up, but I want all of them, and at retail that's too much for me to spend right now. Thanks for sharing that info, though!

I miss the good old days of TLG black Friday.

According to other sites, Kingdom's Joust is also 20% off if anyone is interested in that.

    ^isnt joust and exclusive?

Yes, but my guess is that they have tons of these to get rid of.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,637
Joust is a wonderful set. If it is on sale and you don't have one, get it. I will be highly tempted to get a second one but it is probably out of budget for me

Thanks @binaryeye‌ . The Movie sets I may pull the trigger on, as I have not really seen these going for big discounts anywhere. Plus with VIP points and the holiday set if you buy enough it may be an OK deal.

As for the Joust I doubt it is on sale in the US, as they have been pretty consistent with the no discounts ban.

^ As long as it is only [email protected] that is offering the discount, I doubt that they will have a problem with it :)

Wishful thinking, but it hasn't happened since the ban and I would be very surprised if it occurred now.

Does the 50% off #10227 B-Wing this past May count?
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
@lordzarak, that was May 2013 before the new discount policy.

I don't think there are 2X points this weekend. From the thread "Actual Black Friday TLG shopping"...

    11/28-12/1
    Free shipping on all orders
    Free Holiday set #2 w/$99
    Free calendar w/$75
    Sale on select items

Last year, it was only 1x points as well.

Last year, they had spend 150 dollars then 10 off or 10 credit.

Yes, overall their last few Black Friday offers have been worse compared to the previous weekend. Last year I missed out on 3x, so I was sure to grab 2x this past Saturday. Their discounts have typically been on items I have absolutely no interest in. Overall, the Lego sales this holiday season have been fairly sparse and lame, especially compared to last year. We will see if anything heats up.
  • luckie_reubsluckie_reubs Member Posts: 299
There's not much reason for Lego to have lots of sales. People are going to buy their stuff anyway.

Well yes and no. LEGO still has City Mine theme stuff now for I think the 3rd year, and they still have the biggest set in stock. My guess is that those are going to get discounted, either now, or around new years. Any Hobbit left or LoTR that is old will likely have to be put on 'clearance' as well. Otherwise again you are just wasting space.
Unless it is an exclusives in the US, I would imagine LEGO does not want 3 year old sets cluttering their warehouses if they can help it.
It just appears overall that LEGO is being stingy with their sales lately. Same with many retailers and their LEGO, at least that is the feeling I have gotten from Amazon.

Can't believe that over in the UK they have a better Black Friday offering than we have in the USA...this is OUR shopping holiday, gosh dang it :)

I missed that the post on the front page was for Europe. I was excited to order the Horizon Express in 45 minutes. UGH!

Getting the Trash Chomper and Flying Flusher, I guess.
I mean, if I HAVE to buy some...

A few minutes late and can't get the site to load. Was there anything else besides the list in the first post?
  • chuckpchuckp Member Posts: 684
Yup, unresponsive for me too. Surprising considering the lack of really big deals.

No discount for the Joust in the US, as far as I can tell from the first few secs before it went belly up.
  • luckie_reubsluckie_reubs Member Posts: 299
I got one order in on a keychain (for the Jor El), and I'm trying to get another one in. If it ever loads...
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,791
Really is sad that a company like LEGO seems to not be able to keep their site operational.

Morons. I think I'll just buy from Amazon.
  • GIR3691GIR3691 Member Posts: 674
Site finally loaded for me. Looks like Shredder and Jor-el promos stack.

TMNT keychains sold out. Plenty of Super Heroes keychains, so I got a Jor-el, plus the LEGO Movie and a couple turkeys. Used some VIP points so it's not too bad. I needed to save money anyway.

Yeah site looks to be back up.
Got a few Cargo Trucks and the Movie sets seem to also be available via Amazon so I think I may buy the movie sets from there instead.
  • tamamahmtamamahm Member Posts: 1,987
Yes, the Lego deals this Black Friday have been quite sad.
  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
Just placed multiple orders with no issue with the website. Added a DC keychain to each to get Jor-el poly. So if you buy an Arkham Asylum you get both promos.
  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
No big whoop, but you also get a free Hobbit poster with purchase of a Hobbit set.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
Wow, sucks to see nothing else go on sale. I was going to wake up early and head to my local LEGO store, but it doesn't seem worth the trouble....
  • margotmargot Member Posts: 2,308
Free Santa set for the first 200 customers.

Which country? It's not showing for [email protected] US.

Edit: Well I guess this is the "US" thread, so I guess it's for US. Just don't see it in my cart.

I got the spaceship MBA for my parents to give my son. He loves MOCing spaceships so hopefully this will teach him new building techniques.

USA. Was automatically added to orders on Hobbit sets. Maybe there was such a rush that they are out! Ha ha...

Free sets are always appreciated but that one isn’t worth a 2 hour drive and standing in line for.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,791
Yeah also bought a AA to get the Jor-El and the Holiday set #2. Probably the best deal to be had, next to Double VIP points that is, in the US right now.

I will say for folks that do not have MBA, that this is actually a very good sale. I am/was a huge fan of MBA, and my son loved it, especially the first year when it was a subscription service. He really enjoyed the spaceship MBA. I am sure he will love this, @Bumblepants.
