@bluedragon my son and i were by the registers. we noticed the screaming on our way out and just thought maybe because it got extremely crowded all of the sudden. we weren't expecting the people to rush in the way they did at 9:30. the event ended early.

I know. I guess they couldn't say no to the tourists. We were done shopping but I suppose that must have been quite annoying for those arriving late.

I was just at the Lego store in Chicago (watertower) for double points and they gave me one because I am a Vip. (Also spent over $100).

    Thanks @margot‌ .

It would be more impressive to me if the HE was still in stock, or the Jan 1 sets were available though. Was eying the Simpsons house, or Pet shop, but I think I'll hold off. I do not really need these and after this Christmas it would probably help my wallet if I showed restraint for once.

2x points is the equivalent of $5 on $100. Yawn. Most any promo poly/fig is better than that.

And, what @madforLEGO‌ said. Put the DO up for grabs and I'm in.

Yeah, you already get the 1x VIP points for $5 anyway, so 2x is just an additional $5.

This is off $100 baseline, of course. If you are getting a DS or something equally huge, it's obviously more advantageous (but not a whole lot more).

^It's kind of strange that they are doing this Sunday double VIP points thing leading up to Christmas. It seems that a lot of existing VIP members are more familiar with the really good deals Lego used to have and probably won't bite. The only reason I can think of for their current approach is to drive more VIP membership.
