I just got an email announcing a VIP sale on November 22. Last year was Triple VIP points and Holiday Set #2 with qualifying purchase. No details confirmed yet for this offer. This is for S@H and for Lego Stores.

question! I just got this email but also one saying that my vip points will be expiring at the end of the year. What is that about? they dont stay in there forever? will all my points be expiring or just certain ones. how do i tell?
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
In the terms are the following points under 'Expiration and Cancellation':

    1. All VIP points expire on the date of December 31st two (2) years after the year in which they were earned.

    2. Members will be notified via email at six (6) and three (3) months prior to the expiration of points.

Anyone know if there will be extra incentives in-store over ordering online?
  • luckie_reubsluckie_reubs Member Posts: 299
So we don't know what this special deal is yet, do we? Or when it goes live? I'm so excited! This is my first year as a VIP (and I know, it's not that big of a deal or that hard to get that distinction).

No idea what these will be, I got the same email. I think I recall this exact thing happened last year, where they did some specials the Saturday before Thanksgiving and also sent out an email with no info. I don't remember there being any good deals though.

Me, even though I'm going to the event at the store tomorrow.
I have heard it is It is 2x VIP points, the holiday set.

I believe the speculation is that they will have a Detective Agency displayed at least. I'm hoping they provide the Holiday set#2 without purchase and if you buy over X you get another. Will miss the PaB boxes though, will still check out the wall since I will be there. I'm also hoping for another giveaway of something not the #2 holiday set as well. Crossing my fingers on that as I would be pleasantly surprised if that occurred, but doubt it will happen.

What about that train ornament? Rumored to be a VIP gift, but the image was found on the LEGO server. Maybe all VIPs will get one early?
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
I will and i probably need to go to the mall that has a lego store tomorrow anyway
  • rocaorocao Administrator Posts: 4,290
AFAIK, the "special offers" for all VIP members are 2x VIP points, free shipping (without purchase minimum), and free Holiday Set #2 with $100 purchase. I don't think there will be sale prices on select sets; that's going to happen on Black Friday instead.

    This was posted on BrickLink.

I got the LEGO affiliate newsletter this morning, and these will be the Brick
Friday/Cyber Monday offers. Please note that this list was from the UK newsletter.
I expect the USA and other countries will have the same offers (usually they
are), but I'm not 100% sure as I haven't gotten an official list yet.
Hope you still find it helpful.

This year we'll be offering the following offers for the duration of Saturday
22nd November for VIP Early Access and BFCM from 28th November until 1st December.

The list by @theLEGOman looks really good! None of these ring to me as unpopular sets that LEGO is just trying to clear inventory of.

That BL link reaffirms my appreciation for Brickset and its user friendly forum! Is the whole BL forum like that?

    Yeah.

You can change the layout, but its still a bit confusing.
  • ShpadoinkleShpadoinkle Member Posts: 420
So with the "no discounts on exclusives" policy in the US we can pretty much just count on the double points and holiday set...

Although If you change region on Lego.com not all of them have got these 15% off offers. Most of them it seems Germany/Austria have and none in Belgium/Netherlands ( haven't checked all of them )
Not sure if correct. Hope UK will be same as Germany. 25 minutes to go.
  • rocaorocao Administrator Posts: 4,290
    It should be

No it's not. I don't know why. But some countries don't have the Christmas set #2 available now. It may be next week possibly?
  • DaraghDaragh Member Posts: 363
No discounted sets in Ireland at all. Boo! Just 5% off for €125.

^ I thought you were asking when the train was live in the US and told you to look at the second picture. But I think you're talking about when the sale is live. Hasn't it been Eastern midnight?
  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
^^ I'd assume at midnight Eastern Standard Time. West coasters at 9:00 PM. That's traditional been sales etc have been live.

Looks like there won't be any new sets on discount for those in U.S. and Canada (according to Toys N Bricks post):

Disappointed again. Why did I stay up? Oh yeah, the sliver of the hope that we might enjoy just one of the discounts the UK got...

Last year's pre-BF deal was way better than the actual BF offers from Lego. So I'm really on the fence here since I don't think anything I want is going to be discounted on BF. But maybe. 2x VIP plus the Xmas set ain't nothing, and I'd hate to pass it up and then be doubly disappointed next week. Tough call.

Yeah,, underwhelming even at the store. Still bought something (Pet Shop) but not much to write about. I did get the train ornament though as a gift
  • legogallegogal Member Posts: 754
Agreed. The train ornament was a cool VIP gift this morning at an empty Raleigh store. We also received the cute 40091 Turkey set and the calendar for 2015. I picked up the new WV set and a couple of small DC Marvel sets to meet the $100. minimum for the second holiday freebie set 40107 the ice skaters. There also was a nice yellow/gold piece of LEGO wrapping paper in my bag. Wish there had been a new modular or Creator house...but this will do for now.
  • legogallegogal Member Posts: 754
Ooops! I paid for the Turkey set; it was not free!
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
I think they tried to compensate for the lack of deals, Spend $99 and get out with #40091, #40107, #5002813, calendar and wrapping paper was not bad after all.
(@legogal , #40091 was free for us, they had a big stack behind the counter and added it into the bag without scanning as it had a price tag of $9.99)

Sorry I'm late to this party, but is the

VIP special shopping pass (sent out to select VIPs)
    Saturday Pre-black friday sale
    and Brick Friday

All the same as far as discounts and freebies concerned? I've been trying to follow multiple threads and they all seem the same. It seems to me the Pre-Black friday VIP shopping event (the one with invites) and the sales going on right now are the same, so the people who got invites were allowed to enter the stores an hour early and is that it?

    @yys4s not quite:

    1) Saturday Pre-black Friday sale (for VIPs): 2x VIP + 2nd xmas set
    2) VIP special invite: All of the above plus additional freebies (see above posts), and early store entrance (although #1 was available online at midnight on 11/21)
    3) Brick Friday: Don't know yet (or at least I haven't seen any confirmed info), but I assume it would be at least 2x VIP + 2nd xmas set
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
TLG seems to not quite understand the idea of Black Friday. ;)

i was a VIP guest at the Rock Center store and we received a few gifts during the event. being at Rock Center during the holidays with the tree present always makes it all that more special.
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
We don't get the Turkey! However the Calendar has three coupons attached to it if anyone notice?

Yeah they have been bantered about in other threads.
One is for a hoth Han polybag. One is for a LEGO store employee polybag, and the last is for a BaM in the store.

Got the Ornament, Turkey at the door (did not have to pay for either), and also bought enough to get holiday set #2 and a calendar.

I didn't have time to go into the store today so I did my buying online. Hopefully I get some of those extra freebies!

@nychromastone I was there too. You can't have missed me. I was the one trying to sit my screaming 1.5 yo in the stroller after he bit his older brother. Maybe he didn't like his Duplo...
