Yeah, forty should be enough to last until Christmas :o)

@rancorbait‌, It was was when I visited Canada I first discovered Twinkies. I thought they were revolting at first. It wasn't until I arrived home I started to develop a craving for them.
I only eat them during Christmas as a treat though as I know how (very) bad they are for you.

    That's where we differ @rancorbait‌, I don't like coffee.

And where are they now? @carlq‌ :o)

I am pleased to see presents starting to arrive, the anticipation is the fun bit!

Now the challenge begins for those that have arrived, especially when they look as tempting as the ones above!

Mine shipped off yesterday. 20% off the shipping to boot.
I haven't opened my gift, but my wife did. She peeked for me since it didn't rattle. All she would tell me is that it is built, not loose. But she won't tell me what it is! Drat!

Cripes.... The package I've prepared for someone looks a bit on the small side by comparison - I might have to rethink!

I'm not sure if mine is wrapped so I'm not opening the box all of the way, but I managed to slip out the card without peeking. So exciting!

I tried to teach our dog Rex (not related to @CapnRex101 ) to open packages under the tree, but no, he still focuses on tearing up shoes. But there is progress, now he only attacks shoes left by themselves, he used to do it while we were wearing them :)

May be it is because he likes Christmas and won't do anything to spoil it :)

OPEN THEM ALL NOW, PEOPLE! :) I want to see what everyone got. I've never been one to sit around with unopened gifts staring me in the face.

When I was a kid I used to open gifts on the morning of the 25th but since I crossed the pond (and got married), my wife has the tradition the open the gifts on the evening of the 24th (except for Santa's gift that is open on the 25th). On top of that, she is working on the 25th this year..
When do you open your gifts ?
  • iso3200iso3200 97 miles from Brickset TowersMember Posts: 2,035
Received mine today. London SE3 postmark, so i don't think it's someone I've traded with previously - unless its a disguise.

My family opens gifts Christmas morning. I'm typically in this SS and one on boardgamegeek.com...those I open right away (obviously, with my impatience here). :) The same with any gifts I get in the mail from friends.

@ColoradoBricks‌ - in my family we open our presents on the morning of the 25th but only once everyone is up, dressed and breakfasted. When I was little my dad worked shifts so sometimes we just opened one present that my mum knew was something creative (like Lego!) then opened the rest when dad got back from work.
This year my sister and her family (niece aged 3 and nephew aged 5) are spending Christmas with me and my mum. It's going to be chaos!!

    @slovakiasteph‌ - Nooooooooo! Don't tempt them, Frodo!

We open on the 25th. When I was a kid we got to open one present on Christmas Eve.
Where does your wife's tradition come from @ColoradoBricks‌ ?
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Denver, CO, USAMember Posts: 1,640
@margot, probably from her impatient parents :). I am not sure where it came from, I will ask her tonight.

Hmmm. It has a lip at the bottom. Feels a bit like a [email protected] box. Quite light, but sounds reassuringly full. The wrapping paper clearly says No Peeking. Dammit! I have a varied wants list. Could be anything! Exciting stuff.
